Pál BenkőPal Benko — Return article to its original, correct name. Subject spelled his name "Pal Benko" in his 2003 autobiography (Pal Benko: My Life, Games and Compositions, ISBN 1890085081). Refusing to honor the subject's choice of spelling of his own name is arrogant beyond belief. Original page title also comports with WP:V and WP:ENGLISH, as Benko published widely in English as "Pal Benko". Page name was changed in a mass rename of chess players that violated WP policy and guidelines. Quale 10:43, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Support — It's "Pal Benko" without the diacritics in English. And this is the English Wikipedia.--Endroit 10:07, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Strongly support per above. Septentrionalis 23:42, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Strongly support using the English alphabet, not some crazy squiggles that don't even work on my system. Bubba ditto 00:03, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Middle name edit

Benko's middle name: Charles. Source: the same obit already cited 14 times.107.185.97.165 (talk) 05:40, 4 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Could you present any source that shows his middle name in Hungarian?(KIENGIR (talk) 20:10, 4 September 2019 (UTC))Reply

As I said, the same obit already cited 14 times. In McClain, Dylan Loeb (August 26, 2019). "Pal Benko, who stepped aside for Bobby Fischer, dies at 91". The New York Times. ISSN 0362-4331. Archived from the original on August 28, 2019. Retrieved August 27, 2019, see "Pal Charles Benko ..."107.185.97.165 (talk) 21:38, 4 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Maybe, but I am curious of the birth name, if it containing it (surely not the form Charles in case), or if when he'd acquire it, because we simply cannot insert this into the Hungarian version.(KIENGIR (talk) 18:14, 5 September 2019 (UTC))Reply
