Fair use rationale for Image:McKesson logo.png edit

Image:McKesson logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

McKesson Pharmaceutical Company? edit

Pharmaceutical company typically refers to manufacturers (e.g. Sanofi, Bristol-Myers Squibb, etc.) not those companies associated with other parts of the process (e.g. distribution, final point of sale, etc.). McKesson is more accurately described as a pharmaceutical wholesaler. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.175.68.59 (talk) 12:33, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

– Most precise WP:COMMONNAME of $200 billion company, and most recognizable page called “McKesson” (with that spelling and capitalization). Official name not more helpful to readers, like Walmart, ExxonMobil, etc. Wikipedical (talk) 20:36, 11 February 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. Ⓩⓟⓟⓘⓧ Talk 21:21, 18 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose unlike those it isn't a household name and is a surname. Leave as is. In ictu oculi (talk) 20:49, 11 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Support, overwhelming primary topic. The only real ambiguity is with the surname, the rest are partial title matches and should not be considered when determining primacy. —Xezbeth (talk) 10:45, 12 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Note that I'm only commenting on the primacy of the company. I'm less concerned about where the article sits, only that it's the primary topic for "McKesson" regardless. —Xezbeth (talk) 10:47, 12 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Well in that case a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT might be better for WP:CRITERIA In ictu oculi (talk) 09:09, 19 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

McKesson Canada - stores edit

I'm wondering whether it was the purchase of the Rexall pharmacy chain by McKesson that has led to the recent growth of large "Rexall"-branded drugstores (similar in scale to Shoppers Drug), at least in Toronto. This would be a significant rethinking and/or rebranding for the "Rexall" brand, which used to comprise franchise pharmacies, as formerly in the U.S. (Most of the Rexall franchises, at least in Toronto, appear to have closed.) Anything worth bringing into the article here? (With citations, of course.)71.105.208.69 (talk) 15:00, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

History of National Data Corporation edit

National Data Corporation (now a redirect to McKesson Corporation) played an important role in the software and Time-sharing industry. The company was founded in 1967 and, in it's NDC (and NDC-Health) successor role, has sources through 2001. These roles are mentioned in two wiki articles, and this redirect also services several other Wiki articles, so it has value: "would be helpful in a printed or CD/DVD version of Wikipedia."

At present, NDC is a part of the McKesson article's Former divisions section. Pi314m (talk) 01:15, 18 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
