Question for Khoikhoi

edit

Could you explain why you reverted? I find NKVD general to be the most significant info to appear in the lead. (Icar 13:42, 13 March 2007 (UTC))Reply

Real name, ethnicity, mother tongue

edit

According to his daughter, Bodnarenko's real first name was Timofei, not Panteleimon; he was an ethnic Ukrainean; he spoke Romanian with heavy Russian accent. These bits may be worth mentioning when the Securitate unbocks his file (just kidding...) Icar 12:53, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Pintilie's official portrait
  • ... that Gheorghe Pintilie (pictured), who joined the Romanian Communist Party Central Committee on this day in 1948, had used a crowbar to murder its former General Secretary? Source: Multiple sources, including his own deposition, for the murder (as noted in the article, it remains unclear whether it was Pintilie who smashed Foriș's head in, or whether his chauffeur did it for him -- either way, the hook is formulated to cover either possibility); the exact date of his accession to the Committee is in Dobre et al., Membrii C.C. al P.C.R. (1945–1989). Dicționar.
    • ALT1: ... that when Gheorghe Pintilie (pictured) lost his position inside Communist Romania's secret police, its Soviet advisers were left with "nothing to do [but] sit in their offices and read the newspaper"? Source: Quote from Alexandru Drăghici, in Florian Banu et al., Securitatea (1948–1989). Monografie, Vol. I, p. 320.

    • Comment: Please note that the original hook is a special-date hook for June 11. This does not apply to the ALT.

5x expanded by Dahn (talk). Self-nominated at 06:23, 25 May 2022 (UTC).Reply

  •   New enough and large enough expansion (a large one at that). QPQ present. No textual issues; Earwig comes back clean. AGF on the hook facts which are in offline Romanian-language sources. Image is PD. Approved for June 11. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 02:54, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
