  •   Article is new enough and long enough. Hook is interesting and within prescribed limits. Images are in the public domain. Earwig's copy-vio dectector shows no copy right issues. AGF on sources written in French. QPQ completed. Article is good to go. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 20:57, 24 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
    • @Elias Ziade and Gwillhickers:   forgive me, but as far as I can see, Category:Plays adapted into operas has 135 members. Is there something that makes this hook more special than I'm noticing? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 07:39, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
      • @Theleekycauldron: You're right, but at the time it was the first opera adapted from a pre-islamic legend, and the first opera production based on the work of a Lebanese (or Arab) individual. I added a couple of alternatives.el.ziade (talkallam) 15:03, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
        • @Elias Ziade: ALT2 is promising, but I don't think that's something we can say in wikivoice. What kind of attribution can we give for the idea? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 13:27, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
          • @Theleekycauldron:, I’m on it.el.ziade (talkallam) 01:20, 5 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
            @Theleekycauldron: I added a third alternative hook, which I believe should not be problematic. el.ziade (talkallam) 12:21, 5 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
            • @Elias Ziade: what about a tweaking of ALT2 to just provide some minimal attribution? That'll be needed in the article as well, anyway... theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 12:25, 5 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
              • @Theleekycauldron: I'm really sorry, but I am not following   Do you mean attributing the claim to the person who said it explicitly in the article? Would "(Did you know that) According to French and Francophone studies expert Martine Sauret, (Chekri Ganem's) Antar was the most important display of Arab nationalism organized outside the Arab world (. / ?) If I am missing the point please let me know.el.ziade (talkallam) 23:31, 5 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
                • @Elias Ziade: my apologies for the confusion! So, the article is gonna need to say who made the claim (and in what publication, if relevant), and the hook is gonna need some kind of language to convey that we're not calling it "important" ourselves, we're attributing to someone else who called it "important". "Reportedly" is one common word for that, although I don't think it works here. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 23:59, 6 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
                  • @Theleekycauldron: Please don't apologize! It was me who was not following. I tweaked the article as suggested. I guess the last hook I suggested is okay now? So does this work now? Or should we reconsider other hooks? "Did you know that, according to French and Francophone studies expert Martine Sauret, Chekri Ganem's play Antar was the most significant display of Arab nationalism organized outside the Arab world?" el.ziade (talkallam) 10:39, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
                    • That's good! I'm gonna shorten this a little bit:
                    • ALT2b: ... that Chekri Ganem's play Antar was described as the most significant display of Arab nationalism organized outside the Arab world?
                    •   tick in good faith :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 19:32, 9 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
