Old prod

edit

I do not know if the re-created article was created "from scratch" or if it was the result of a copy-and-paste of the old version of BBCN Bancorp that was deleted in January 2014. It was not an "undeletion" of the old page so technically the "old prod" template is probably incorrect. However, it's correct in spirit which is why I added it. If you want this deleted for any reason other than a valid "speedy deletion" reason, please use WP:Articles for deletion instead of WP:Proposed deletion. BBCNBBCN Bancorp Inc. – Not to be confused with BBC News or "BBCNI" (a redirect to BBC Northern Ireland). Also, per WP:NATURAL: "If it exists, choose an alternative name that the subject is also commonly called in English reliable sources, albeit not as commonly as the preferred-but-ambiguous title." According to Bing News or Google News, many news articles use the proposed name. --Relisted. George Ho (talk) 18:43, 21 May 2015 (UTC) George Ho (talk) 05:51, 12 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • How about BBCN Bancorp (which already redirects here and was the article's original title)? Per WP:NCCORP, we normally omit "Inc." unless necessary for disambiguation. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:54, 12 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Looking online BBCN bank appears to be the most common name for the organization, even being thanked in a book ( Burglind Jungmann; Kim Young-Jae; Christine Göttler (2013). Looking East: Rubens's Encounter with Asia. Getty Publications. p. 8. ISBN 978-1-60606-131-2. ) under that name.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 02:09, 16 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
