Dlife was a japanese TV channel operated by The Walt Disney Company, broadcasting foreign series, movies and variety shows.[1]

History

edit

Dlife was launched in Japan on March 17, 2012 at 18:00.[2]

End of broadcast

edit

With the acquisition of the main business of 21st Century Fox on March 20, 2019, Fox and Dlife both became part of Walt Disney Group. As a consequence, on November 14, 2019, Broadcast Satellite Disney (BS Disney) announced that it would end broadcasting of Dlife on March 31, 2020.[3] Its last program broadcast was Criminal Minds.[4]

Relaunch

edit

On March 1, 2024, Walt Disney Japan announced on December 5, 2023 that it would revive Dlife as a rebrand of the existing Fox.[5] However, unlike the old channel (which was free-to-air), it is a pay TV channel, and the broadcast content is similar to Fox.
