There was no error or violation Wikpedia rules in my page -119.152.142.172 (talk) 14:09, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

There is a current article Religious interpretations of the Big Bang theory, is that what you are talking about? ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 17:17, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

American King James Version

I'm here by clicking on a red link which said the article was removed by the PROD process, and could be undone if I requested it.

The deletion was made on a suggestion with no objections, not on content or criteria as far as I can tell. Since it is a religous article, (making it potentially controversial) I would hope wikipedia's deletion policy to be one of motion + momentum (maybe 10 seconds from verifiable different domains), not simply a motion + no objections.

I'd like to actually see the deleted contents before I request it's undeletion, but there doesn't appear to be a way to see the article's contents before undeletion. -Mikey (talk) 17:02, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

The prod nom was "No claim to notability for this Bible translation." and then it sat for a week with a huge tag warning of what was coming and being listed on the page of PROD-tagged articles. Nobody stepped up to explain why this article was worthwhile, or even say "wait, I think it might be worthwhile"--if nobody cared to fix it or disagree, it just goes away. Not a perfect system obviously, but there's consensus that WP:PROD is one of the standard mechanisms on Wikipedia. It actually isn't a religious article, just an article about a specific translation/publication of the bible. I can restore it to your userspace for a few days if you like. DMacks (talk) 17:16, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Done Expired PRODs can be restored without comment, since the only element needed to stop a prod is an objection. I have done so. The exact nature of the article and the subject's suitability for wikipedia might still be questioned at an AfD. Protonk (talk) 17:50, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

This page was recently deleted by my request for copyright violation problems. I find, though that I need access to the earliest version (of this incarnation of the file), which I wrote and which has no copyvio issue, so that I can easily get the file in usable form again. •   Not done - this page has not yet been deleted.. You can see from the deletion tag that the article must have at least one reliable source covering the subject--not just a disc list on a database style website. the source does not need to be in english but non-english sources are harder for the bulk of our editors to review. If the article does not have a source when the tag expires on August 8, it will be deleted. Protonk (talk) 01:12, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Son of God Discussion in Caesarion article

In the discussion section, several posters discussed the correlation between Caesarion and Jesus -- all of that has been removed and has been replaced with comments that are intentionally misleading -- like 'Caesar left Cleopatra pregnant' -- which is a known innaccuracy; It is a discussion page and the topic of discussion was fair, may I at least have access to the archived page? -67.237.113.168 (talk) 10:33, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

There are other records labels on wikipedia which are no more noteworthy than Deviant Sound Records, which has been in existence for nearly a decade and has e.g. released several albums with a well known opera singer from Germany. John Broadhurst Boothman was submitted as a football player for the Hawthorn and Camberwell Football Clubs from 1927. He IS NOT A LIVING PERSON. HE PASSED AWAY IN 1989. -Brie2000 (talk) 13:38, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

No need to SHOUT. Your article did not say he was deceased: we have to be extremely careful about biographies of living persons, and an article that gives a date of birth but not a date of death is likely to be a BLP. I have removed the BLP-PROD tag, but you still need to provide references to verify what the article says and confirm notability. See WP:Your first article for advice. Fligban

My friends and I are artists and have developed a new form of poetry. The submission I made was not offensive in any way, was not lude, described our art form precisely (Fligban) and was concise and respectful of other users. A user called DMack deleted my entry without reason. I have contacted DMack without reply. I've visited his user page and see that he has a recent history of removing content simply because he wishes to...with reasons rarely given. Others have asked him why he removed their content and also seemingly have received to reply. I love and appreciate the nature of Wikipedia, but I implore you to restore my content. IF we as a people cannot create, then what are we. And we have created a legitimate form of poetry, with a number of people practicing, and we wish simply to have it represented on Wikipedia. Please undo DMack's deletion. Thank you. -Sean H Healy 14:23, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Black Veil Brides

Band has become notable since time of deletion -Wordshark (talk) 21:57, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

The page on this band was deleted in August 2009 for failing to assert the importance or significance of its subject. Since then, they have become more notable (664,000 Google hits, 13 million views on a Youtube video, interview in Billboard) and deserve a Wikipedia article. Wordshark (talk) 21:57, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

  •   Not done - this one has quite a history, which means that any new version will be met with some suspicion. It was re-created so many times that the title has been salted - protected against re-creation; the article was userfied for the author to work on improvements, but that did not happen and that too was deleted after two discussions - see (1, 2); and the original author has been indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry. What I suggest you do is:
  1. carefully read WP:BAND to be sure you can show that the band meets its criteria - otherwise you will just be wasting everyone's time; if so,
  2. read WP:My first article,
  3. prepare a draft article in your userspace at User:Wordshark/Black Veil Brides, making sure you have references from reliable independent sources,
  4. post a request at WP:Requests for feedback to get comments on it,
  5. approach user Drilnoth (talk · contribs), the admin who protected it, or user Tedder (talk · contribs), the last admin who deleted it, and ask them to unprotect the title so that it can be moved back. Failing that, you can try WP:Deletion review
If you like, I can move the last version into your user space for you to work on, though from a quick look at it you might do better starting from scratch. JohnCD (talk) 10:09, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

  •   Done – as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request. I will notify user Tagishsimon (talk · contribs), who proposed it for deletion, in case he wishes to nominate it at Articles for deletion. You need to add some independent references - notability is not a matter of opinion, but needs to be established by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Yaki Kadafi

Important individual -Illuminati hater (talk) 20:52, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

According the talk page it was originally deleted for not being notable enough. However, there is plenty evidence to the contrary.

1. News reports about his death: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Yh8zvlQoRc

2. He was the sole witness to the murder of tupac.

3. Solo post-humorous content is still being released and sold on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Son-Rize-1-Kadafi/dp/B000KD0BE2

4. Even though he died at the young age of 19 he has appeared in the following songs: http://en.academic.ru/dic.nsf/enwiki/7068994

5. Online biographies of him litter the net from reputable sources. A quick google search found the following: http://www.last.fm/music/Yaki+Kadafi, http://www.thugz-network.com/Outlawz~Kadafi.php,

6. The french version of wikipedia contains an article on Yaki Kadafi:

http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaki_Kadafi&ei=OpJMTI2ZJ4L6sAOuj-xI&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=17&ved=0CGAQ7gEwEA&prev=/search%3Fq%3DYaki%2BKadafi%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3DM0m%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26prmd%3Div (translated to english)

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaki_Kadafi (original)

7. The deletion discussion doesn't indicate a high-level knowledge of Kadafi or hip-hop in general. An impartial review by individuals who are more knowledgeable of hip-hop is required.

As a final note, I would be open to creating a new article should the old one not meet certain standards. However, I do not wish to create a new one only to have it deleted (as the last couple attempts from various members) using the flawed original judgment as a basis.

Also the original deleter indicated he would unavailable to answer questions via his talk page which is another reason I requested review.

It's a Matter of Taste

I just saw that my page was deleted. I had to make a wikipedia page for my journalism course at Michigan State University and my professor said to make a page about a local business. This is not my business by any means. I could write more to make it less advertisey, but I would really appreciate if, at least, this page could stay up for a week just so I could get credit for my course. Or could I at least get a copy of the page without it being put back up? I just need to show my professor I did the assignment. Thanks. -JacquelineatMSU (talk) 21:38, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

It was a copyright violation, and about a non-notable business besides. Neither of those is likely to win you much credit. --Orange Mike | Talk 23:53, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Beauty (album)

I would like to have this page userfied so I can add references to it before recreating in the main namespace. This afd was closed a few months ago and the result was redirect to Neutral Milk Hotel. This is actually a notable release. Even if it were considered a demo recording, it was distributed (self-released) among the artists of the Elephant 6 collective. This can be noted on page 9 of Kim Cooper's In The Aeroplane Over The Sea (33 1/3), 2005. The threshold for notability with regard to albums is explained by WP:NALBUMS, "Unreleased material (including demos, mixtapes, bootlegs, promo-only recordings) is in general not notable; however, it may be notable if it has significant independent coverage in reliable sources." I feel that for this particular case, this coverage exists. I will also add other sources to this article with can demonstrate notability -riffic (talk) 09:38, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Done at User:Riffic/Beauty (album). Before restoring it to the main space, you should get agreement from user Black Kite (talk · contribs), the admin who closed the AfD, or failing that go through WP:Deletion review. I have re-created the redirect as an interim measure, but the article history is now attached to the userfied version, so return to the main space must be done by a move, not by cut and paste. He is the youngest political operative in the state of California and is know throughout the California GOP political scene, at 18 years old he was hired by Jillian Hasner, MEg Whitman's campaign manager. Brandon will be returning back to UChicago in the autumn to finally start College. However, it may still be nominated at Articles for deletion; if it is to survive it needs much better referencing to establish notability. For any article, but particularly for the biography of a living person, the verifiability policy requires that reliable sources are cited to confirm what they say - see References are not optional. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Rameses Casten

The article was deleted through A7, although the facts and supporting information are not yet done and finalized. Rameses Casten is a figure known among the youth of his country, the Philippines, especially in Davao and Zamboanga. The written article about him is true, and is not a ground to be deleted as such just because of lack of information. It is requested thereof to restore the article and let the author finalize the article. The article, when done, would really aid the people to know more about a simple person who did his best to support the youth. A request to undelete is hereby passed by the author. -Ramianus (talk) 13:33, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

  • Rameses Casten is 16, has no google scholar, books or news entries and the only three google hits are the deleted page and mirrors. If I were grumpy i'd ask you to stop wasting our time with frivolous requests, but since I'm a good mood I'll stick with   Not done. Spartaz Humbug! 13:44, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

I will note that this same editor has been removing deletion templates; as well as uploading scans of album covers with the assertion that it is okay because the album cover is "entirely my own work" (apparently unable to distinguish between an actual artist and somebody running a copying machine). --Orange Mike | Talk 20:42, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

The article link to this image from Stoning of Du'a Khalil Aswad was apparently removed by a vandal here. It was subsequently automatically deleted because it was an orphaned fair-use image. I would have caught this before it was deleted, but I’ve been on an extended break from Wikipedia. Breeze Zuckerman

Breeze Zuckerman recently won the "Last Woman Standing" trophy at the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. This is a coveted trophy and the WSOP is gaining larger audiences with each year that passes. She is already quite a celebrity. Breeze Zuckerman's popularity and notoriety will be tremendous. The 2010 WSOP Main Event is just starting to air on television and once Breeeze is mentioned on television, thousands of people will want to have information on her. She placed 121st in the WSOP Main Event and cashed at over $57,000. Breeze will be playing in many professional tournaments in the weeks, months and years to come. Breeze Zuckerman is a personal friend who has given her full permission to me to write this about her. Please reconsider reinstating this article on Breeze Zuckerman. • I've removed the phone number. Google scrapes these pages (not sure if this page is noindexed) along with less scrupulous web crawlers, so it isn't a great idea to have that information in plaintext. As for the article, it hasn't been deleted, just turned into a redirect to WSOP. You can view the article here and the history here including all past revisions to the article. Silver Creek Plunge

I wish to restore this page so I can edit it and make it up to your standards, making it not an advertising page, but an informing page, for people who want to go to Silver Creek, but need more information. -~ Emily J (talk) 16:39, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Not done. I'm afraid you really do not understand what Wikipedia is - an encyclopedia, not a notice-board or a listing directory. What you wrote is so far from an encyclopedia article that I think you would do better to start from scratch. Promotional tone is not so much the problem as the content: lists of facilities, map directions, prices, snack-bar menu, babies' need for plastic pants, "One cup of chlorine is added to the pool each morning" etc. are matters for the resort's own website, not for an encyclopedia. It is not Wikipedia's job to feed customers that information - they can Google the site and click on its website.
If there is to be an article, the resort needs to satisfy Wikipedia's notability requirement, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." In fact a good test of whether you can write an acceptable article is to follow the advice of an experienced user in User:Uncle G/On notability#Writing about subjects close to you:

When writing about subjects that are close to you, don't use your own personal knowledge of the subject, and don't cite yourself, your web site, or the subject's web site. Instead, use what is written about the subject by other people, independently, as your sources. Cite those sources in your very first edit. If you don't have such sources, don't write.

See also WP:Amnesia test. If you are now thinking "but all I want to do is use Wikipedia to tell the world about Silver Creek", then sorry, but you have still not understood what an encyclopedia is. More advice in WP:Your first article. JohnCD (talk) 18:57, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

The artist MACKmai is not yet a big artists. However, he has already released a mixtape and will release another by next year. The purpose of the page is to provide users an ability to read about his music and possibly become a fan.   Not done That reference was already in the article. It was not deleted for lack of references, but under speedy deletion criterion A7 because it did not indicate why he was important or significant. I think it could maybe be improved to pass A7, but if it is to be kept it needs to pass the higher bar of notability, which requires showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." See also WP:CREATIVE. If you think you can find more which might meet that standard, I will put the article into the WP:Article Incubator where you can work on it. enhancing Police Accountability through Forensic Science

It is really horrible to find that article that I have posted Titled Enhancing Police Accountability through Forensic Science has been deleted and categorised under copy right infringement . That as a lawyer , as a man of criminal justice administration , I say that this act is ultra virus and bad in nlaw , as I am the original writer of this article , which I posted in drgautamghosh.com. That it is fact that the creator of my blog , a company is having my user ID and password , and could have played mischief , which is being probed , but such an act , is really diagracing . At present I am going to the Munk Centre , University of Toronto , so I cannot , sway more , but I would request you to see , verify , analyze the facts in issue and re-instate my name . Even if it takes time , I will wait , but at the same length , I want that you please e-mail me the article , which is purportedly posted in my blog , which necessitated such drastic action , on 5th August 2010.
