Proposed deletion of Roshan Meka

Speedy deletion nomination of Roshan Meka

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello. A tag has been placed on Roshan Meka requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello Yamharsha5,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Upasana Kamineni for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

Pre-release business

edit

Hi there, re: these additions, please seek consensus somewhere central like WT:ICTF to discuss the inclusion of all this pre-release business stuff. Nothing of that sort is encouraged at our Manual of Style for film (the bible of film articles) and previous discussions about satellite rights sales tended to prefer exclusion on the basis that we're not here to log every dollar the film made or every business deal the film engaged in. It's rare to see any of this in western film articles. This seems largely an obsession in Indian cinema, and nobody has adequately argued for why we should care about it. Oh, and Andhra Box Office is a blog, and we don't use blogs as references. Please note WP:UGC. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:26, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Notability guidelines for film articles

edit

Hi there, I notice that Bharath Ane Nenu, an article you recently created about an upcoming film, didn't indicate that principal photography has begun. Per WP:NFF:

Films that have not been confirmed by reliable sources to have commenced principal photography should not have their own articles, as budget issues, scripting issues and casting issues can interfere with a project well ahead of its intended filming date. The assumption should also not be made that because a film is likely to be a high-profile release it will be immune to setbacks—there is no "sure thing" production. Until the start of principal photography, information on the film might be included in articles about its subject material, if available. Sources must be used to confirm the start of principal photography after shooting has begun. (Emphasis theirs)

I've converted the article into a redirect. If you can can provide sourced information in the article that establish filming has begun, the article may be restored. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:58, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Farah Karimaee

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Farah Karimaee, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". INRConvert

edit

Hi, re: this, it would be appreciated if you'd please not add {{INRConvert}} templates to film article infoboxes. The community decided months ago that these were problematic for a few reasons, including issues with inflation, needlessly converting to US dollars, and infobox clutter. Wall of names

edit

Hi there, I've reverted this edit of yours. I don't think it's very helpful to readers to see a giant wall of names in the infobox. It distracts from the rest of the article. The infobox is intended to be a brief summary of the most important parts of the article, and having a massive list of names unduly draws attention to information that is not terribly important to our understanding of the subject. If you feel that it is important to mention every one of this guy's family members, you might consider creating a unique section for it instead, but I don't think it's particularly relevant. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:28, 30 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hi theeere, this edit from late January does not appear constructive to me. It's unclear what exercise in judgment led you to remove unsourced content in favor of unsourced content, but there is an obvious disparity with how reliable sources have presented the subject's birthdate, so arbitrarily picking one value and silently changing it is not at all constructive. The change has been reverted. See also Mariah Carey for an example of how a similar disparity was presented. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:43, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
