David Tubiolo moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, David Tubiolo, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Proposed deletion of Benjamin D. Reynolds edit

The article Benjamin D. Reynolds has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Politician holding local office with only local coverage - fails notability guidelines for politicians

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Eric Adams (politician) edits edit

Please stop removing the paragraph from the "Controversies" section on the Eric Adams (politician) page about the controversy over his indoor fundraisers. You may not feel that this incident was a proper controversy, but there were multiple critical articles about Adams in high-circulation local newspapers. Whether or not we feel that Adams was in the wrong is not relevant to whether this was a controversy. Sfeldman (talk) 21:10, 14 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

There was one article...so how can it be controversial? Johnqarlo (talk) 08:04, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

There are two separate articles from the New York Daily News cited in the paragraph. A quick Google search will show that the controversy was also covered in other local outlets like Gothamist and Gotham Gazette. Sfeldman (talk) 04:12, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

MOS:OVERLINK edit

Hi, thank you for your edits to local NYC politicians' articles, but please don't turn the infoboxes into a sea of blue -- see MOS:OVERLINK, large geographic entities like the United States should not be linked. Moreover, the links don't need to be repeated again and again, such as in the residence field - which, I'm not 100% you are using correctly. There's a reason you've found that parameter blank in so many places, saying their residence is "Queens" is not informative or interesting. I believe it's meant for 10 Downing Street and Gracie Mansion, etc. JesseRafe (talk) 19:31, 14 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I am adding relevant information to the articles. It important to know that the elected official lives in his/her residence. Johnqarlo (talk) 04:47, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

"It important to know that the elected official lives in his/her residence." - is the most vacuous bromide I ever read, it's mindless reasoning for useless content, that's why it's unhelpful to include. JesseRafe (talk)

If you feel that is the case, why don’t you remove residences from most politicians? Johnqarlo (talk) 04:50, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

April 2021 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at Mark Treyger, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please see above. STOP doing this. JesseRafe (talk) 13:43, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I am confused what I did? I am helping Wikipedia. Johnqarlo (talk) 04:48, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make disruptive edits to Wikipedia contrary to the Manual of Style, as you did at Charles Barron.

What do you not understand? Did you read the MOS link on overlinking? You were specifically called out to stop linking US, and you keep doing that.

You are helping, and are probably trying to make Wikipedia better, but you're doing more harm than good, especially if you can't follow our rules and guidelines. You're making the infoboxes unreadable with these links, not to mention useless. And you are filling out the "residence" parameter incorrectly. Stop it. Please undo your errors yourself, or they will be undone. JesseRafe (talk) 13:07, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I read it, but how am I making infoboxes unreadable? If anything I am adding more information to infoboxes, you’re discouraging me from contributing to Wikipedia. How do I “correctly” fill out the residence parameter. You can undo what you call “errors”, you’re not making sense. Johnqarlo (talk) 06:08, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'm not here to hold your hand. Read the message and the link. You are OVERLINKING. That is NOT helpful, that's why we have guidance against it. Nobody wants to see the same links everywhere, and we've agreed that linking to large geographical entities like the United States is unnecessary. This is exactly what you were told last week. If you can't understand this, then you should be discouraged from contributing to Wikipedia, because we build the encyclopedia by consensus and guidelines -- not your individual opinion. I've already thanked you for your help, because there's a lot of tedious tasks you're doing, but you're also making errors in the process. I specifically told you what the residence parameter is for. If you can't figure our how to fill it out correctly, don't. If you can't figure anything out, then just don't do it -- especially if someone asks, and then tells, you to stop -- then stop. If you continue down this path, expect the issue to be escalated. The onus is on you to fix your errors if you want to help contribute. JesseRafe (talk) 13:32, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I will no longer tag the United States and will a residence when relevant. Please let me know if I’m doing anything else wrong. I have been contributing but you seem not to like what I do, it’s sad that this platform and specifically you discourages those from editing. Johnqarlo (talk) 19:43, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to New York City Department of Correction and Vincent Schiraldi. Ways to improve Anthony Miranda edit

Hello, Thepoliticaljunkie2021,

Thank you for creating Anthony Miranda.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

I don't believe NYC Sheriffs are likely to be notable, as it's sort of an obscure role as compared to other higher profile law enforcement roles in that city. Might be better to merge this into New York City Sheriff's Office. Alternatively, if this individual has further notable aspects, add them to the article.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Siroxo}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
