  Indian Collaboration of the Month

Hi there! Thanks for being associated with the nomination cum voting process of the WikiProject Indian Collaboration of the Month under WikiProject India. As per the voting, the article selected for collaboration for the month of August 2012 is Red Fort. Let's improve this article over the course of the month. I look forward to your contributions on the article.   BPositive (talk) 14:03, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Note: If you are seeing this message on someone's talk page and wish to be a part of the collaboration, add yourself in the members list.

I actually did it! YES! I did it!!!! :P.... --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 17:01, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Re: Great moment and success!

I have worked in very few of those of articles. I'll try to revisit few of those again. Where is the old good Samta in the list? --Tito Dutta 17:07, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Yeah Samta is missing from the list. What about it?--Vyom25 (talk) 06:27, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
I would have included but I am sure that none of you may be having much knowledge about it, isn't it? --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 16:57, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Vyom25 says: "I congratulate you on this success. Some of those topics are really tough. Best of luck to you in adding sources and other finishing touches. Adding sources is a tough nut in many articles but I hope you have material according to the need.--Vyom25 (talk) 05:22, 5 August 2012 (UTC)"
Yeah, Samta is a real tough when it comes to adding a ref. I tried it and I know it. But you have done a good job with it. So add it to the list.--Vyom25 (talk) 05:10, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tamravidhir

Instead of a long list of articles, tell me 1-2 articles to look into. I will take a look. Tourism in West Bengal was a quick-fail for FA, and may not even make a WP:GA cut. --Redtigerxyz Talk 05:05, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

I would prefer the following articles:

And if you want another you can randomly pick an article on any one of the Nawabs from the list I mentioned on your talk page! :D

  Thank you --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 17:08, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

WP:MOS

Instead of suggesting I would prefer if any one of you edit this article, for it's good will! Thank you. --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 14:45, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Please remove this line from the Talk WB tourism because The Big Font shows you are shouting and arrogant, nobody will try to help you if they feel that you are arrogant. Please do not use Big font at all on talk pages.--DBigXray 18:19, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Problem solved. --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 15:35, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Tourism in WB

Hi! Since you are a major contributor to the article, I would like to consult you before making major changes. I think that the article is highly of-topic, and you need to fix that. It would be great i you could ind a similar GA/FA. :) ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 10:57, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Sorry but I cannot understand what you mean by this - "I think that the article is highly of-topic, and you need to fix that. It would be great i you could ind a similar GA/FA." Please elaborate. --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 11:06, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
The article is off-topic, as things liked costumes has nothing to do with tourism. Also in case there is an article Tourism in ABC, which is a FA/GA, it will be easier as we would know the desired format. :) ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 11:16, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Agree But do you know any? Well you can check out Talk:Tourism in West Bengal. --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 11:26, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
To be honest, we should instead work on a list of tourist attraction in WB. Btw your talk is in my watchlist. :) ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 11:30, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
I   Agree once again!! :D --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 11:49, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Article move to Tourist attractions in West Bengal. --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 11:55, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Please self revert. I mean a different list, with no change to the main article. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 11:59, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Doing, but don't you think that the title should actually be that? --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 12:02, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
No. Tourism in WB also refers to the economical features of it. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 12:05, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
I CANNOT revert it!! :O --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 12:06, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Then move the page to the original title. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 12:07, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

New starting: Moved back to Tourism in West Bengal. Can you please help by rv the unwanted sections, adding references 'n' other things mentioned here. --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 12:11, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Done. Removed the whole cultural section. Try to concentrate on the economical side of tourism and make sure that the article doesn't becomes a travel guide. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 12:45, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
But I cannot find any info on the revenue they get from tourism! :( --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 12:53, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
:( ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 13:05, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
That is the reason why I moved it to Tourist attractions in West Bengal. Shall I move it back? --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 13:08, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
No, create a new list there instead. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 13:11, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Matlab? --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 13:13, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Leave Tourism in WB like this, and create a list about tourist attractions. As of the WikiProject, which project is it? ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 14:28, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Matlab WP:Lists of Tourist attractions in West Bengal  --DBigXray 14:30, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
By the way there are uncountable tourist attractions..how can I recall or find all of them and combine in a single article...for me it is "asombhaub" (impossible)...Tamravidhir(২০১২) 14:36, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Ad the recognizable, like UNESCO sites and NDTV 7 wonders. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 14:45, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

There is no point in creating a new wikiproject which will die as soon as you loose interest in working on that topic (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Kolkata for example). rather than use your expertise in improving the articles and completing the pending works in these wikiprojects based on your interest. regards--DBigXray 15:12, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
I agree....I know what happened to WikiProject Kolkata created by Jayanta....and I agree on this point "use your expertise in improving the articles and completing the pending works in these wikiprojects based on your interest."..and I do so...:D......Tamravidhir(২০১২) 15:16, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Asking questions

Hi. :) I see you asked multiple people (including me) the same question ([1], [2], [3], [4]). This is generally not a good idea, since that means you will have multiple people potentially researching the answer for you and, if somebody else has already answered you, spending time on unproductively on redundant labor. Why not ask your question at a forum like Wikipedia:Help, where multiple people (who probably know the answer) will see it? Alternatively, unless it's legitimately urgent, it may be better to ask one person if they know and, if they don't, then ask somebody else. If it's urgent and you do feel you need to ask multiple people at the same time, please let them know that you're asking other people as well and when the question is no longer necessary as a courtesy to them. Thanks.

I'm glad to see that you have an answer to the question you asked me. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:47, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank you so much for guiding me in such a friendly way. Thank you once again.   --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 11:57, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Well, I think I should add one more point :) When you're asking a script, or whatsoever, created by a person, it's best not to ask someone who doesn't know of it. Instead, ask the respective person involved directly. That makes it easy. I hope you remember this. Otherwise, I must salute your enthusiasm. Also, Vibhijain and me are good wiki friends, and are working together at WP:IPL. Regards, Dipankan (Have a chat?) 11:56, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Suggestion on getting help Quickly without spamming

Please stop Spamming

Hi Tamravidhir, I see from your recent contributions on Special:Contributions/Tamravidhir that you have copy pasted a same message on so many editors talk page. I am assuming you have good intentions of improving this article but please note that suuch mass spamming is neither encouraged nor accepted. Please follow the suggestions on Wikipedia:Good articles to understand what steps to follow and how to get an article to GA. I am disappointed and I will not be participating on that article because of this mass spamming.--DBigXray 13:45, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

I understand you..if to say then still I am a newbie, please don't refuse at first, you should have given me first warning saying that why are you doing so? Please I too did not like this. I feel myself to be abused. Please I am junior than you so please don't warn me like this. Thank you. (Hope you understand my feelings) --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 13:58, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
I will take care of this in the future. --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 14:00, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Change the title from "Please stop Spamming" to "Suggestion"! Remove that image too! Tamra is a 14 year old youngster! And Tamra, don't post the same message in everyone;'s talk page! I can see Moonriddengirl is already helping, so other should not hurry here! --Tito Dutta 14:02, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
I promise that I will take care of this in the future! Well I am disturbed and...forget it.... Tamravidhir(২০১২) 14:05, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Don't take this notice personally. This is a friendly suggestion. Not a warning! Hope DBigXray will change header and remove the image! --Tito Dutta 14:08, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Please understand that I have no intention of abusing you, but please do not continue this. Moonridden Girl had already told you in the above section and you said you will follow it. I believe you did this and posted to so many talk pages to get quicker help,
  1. Please see Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, WP:HELPDESK, WP:MCQ where you can ask questions, if you want reply,
  2. you can also post your question along with {{helpme}} here and a user or your friends who have watchlisted this page will reply
  3. You can also chat and ask Question on WP:IRC using this link http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#wikipedia-en-help
--DBigXray 14:09, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Also, WP:CANVAS Thanks for changing the header etc..--Tito Dutta
Thank you!   By the way Tito it's DBigXray (DBX) not DBigZray (were you trying to make me laugh) and DBX it's Moonriddengirl not Moonridden Girl. Secondly, Tito meet DBX and DBX meet Tito. :D --Tamravidhir(২০১২) 14:19, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Ya it was a typo, I corrected in my last edit! --Tito Dutta 14:21, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
I dont mind typo in names unless its clearly made deliberately. Tamra please save the links i have posted above. so that you dont have to search next time when you need help--DBigXray 14:24, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Confused?

Explain how, why and where you need attention from other users? Did you read appropriate use of WP:CANVAS? If editors are related to an issue, you can notify them in their talk pages! Anyway, explain how, why and where you need attention from other users?--Tito Dutta 14:34, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
You can ask help at the talk page of the wikiproject in quuestion, eg WT:INDIA. or you can ask 1 or 2 editors who you know are active in that particular topic. You should be more specific in your questions and ask to the point
also take a look at these links. to understand how to get GA FA peer review etc. --DBigXray 14:38, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Like I recently notified many users for th GAN review. By the way I understood after reading the above given link(s). Tamravidhir(২০১২) 14:41, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

GAN review

To Titodutta
  • You said that Nawabs of Bengal & Murshidabad needs lead expansion. Please elaborate.
  • Please help by providing good PD(s) to the pictures used in the article.
  • Please remove copy-vio.
  • Please add citations.

  Thank you. Tamravidhir(২০১২) 14:41, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

  • See WP:LEAD, add one more paragraph!
  • You can search in Commons, try to use PD-1923 and PD-US images, currently a discussion is going on on PD-India images
  • I have not checked copyvio. Close paraphrasing was Moonriddengirl's comment.
  • Ya, some more reliable citations needed! I could add CN tags in article. Since GA review is going on, let's wait for that and I need bit rest too for the day! --Tito Dutta 14:46, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Articles for the GA status

Dear Vidhir, I would like to nominate the following two articles for WP:GA status, but before that they would require some additions and improvements. Abhay Sopori is an article created by my recently, and the other is R.N. Kao, the spymaster. Would really appreciate it if you could help me out with a free picture of Abhay sopori. I am also trying to get one from my sources but that could take time. Tito has provided some resourced to search for free images, but I haven't succeeded in finding one of Abhay yet. Lets start with Sopori first. -Ambar (talk) 17:20, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Red Fort

Hi Tamravidhir, I have removed the reference you recently added to the Red Fort article. Websites like roseindia.net, whereinindia.net, rrindia.com, burrp.com etc. fall in the category of Self-published sources. These cannot be considered to be reliable fact checking sources. You can however use government websites, websites of government agencies like the Archaeological Survey of India etc. as references. Otherwise, your contributions to the article were extremely helpful. Keep them coming. Correct Knowledge«৳alk» 16:04, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tamra,

are you aware of Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user ? I think you are a very promising new editor, and you will improve a lot if you get guidance by an experienced user or admin. Take a look at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user and Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user/Adoptee's Area . There is a list of editors from where you can go and post a message on their talk page for that. That will be very helpful for you, so that you do not make mistakes here unknowingly. What is your opinion about you. Please let me know. cheers--DBigXray 18:03, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Can I clarify? Tito is talking about DBigXray's message above. If you want to be guided by an experienced editor or admin you can choose them from the list of guides and request them to accept you as an adoptee on their talk page. Have a look at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user/Adoptee's Area. Adoption is not permanent and you graduate out of it. Basically, your mentor/adopter answers your questions and offers you friendly advice and support. They will also help you with policy interpretation and conflict management till you don't need them anymore. If you look at the list carefully, you'll notice that Tito is also a guide. So.... Correct Knowledge«৳alk» 05:59, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
To explain more– after applying for adoption, the editor you'll choose, you have to go to his or home and need to stay there for 3 months. There you will have to follow strict routine. Waking up at 4 AM in the morning and till midnight you have to read long long pages on Wikipedia rules and guidelines and you have to memorize each and every word of every page. In short you have to take a course. And after 3 months when you'll complete the course you'll become Jimbo Wales part II.
Hey you Tamra, just joking I am quite sure you already know what we are talking about! --Tito Dutta 06:06, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Tito if you are a guide then I would love you to adopt me  ! Tamravidhir(২০১২) 06:06, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

I still have confusions..after adoption what will happen

You will get an experienced user who will help you to learn your ways here, how to get things done, he will be a mentor. and will make sure you are able to grasp all that. there will not be any time limit for that, you can grasp on your speed.

..will I be able to leave adoption..

Yes its totally voluntary, if you dont like a mentor you can leave him whenever you want, you can also be mentored by another user.

how is it..what happens..

Its awesome, basically you will be asked to read a few pages and the mentor will explain the related things and ask you few questions.

what are the consequences...

you will become a good editor, who knows all the important things. you will not make mistakes, and after some experience you can become an admin.

DISCLAIMER: I am not an adopter neither i am on that list, but my personal experience says, if the mentor has been here for long or he is an admin, then his advice will be very valuable. Choice is yours Cheers.--DBigXray 20:45, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:C.I.D. (TV series) Logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:C.I.D. (TV series) Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:11, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Anamika (TV series)

The article Anamika (TV series) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable TV Show. WP:CRYSTAL

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Non-free rationale for File:Maa Kali and Maa Durga in Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Maa Kali and Maa Durga in Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 07:13, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

But that file already has a non-free rationale. I can't understand. Please explain, I don't understand these high class technical terms. Please explain in a simpler way. --Tamravidhir (Jiva is Shiva!) 07:17, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
That's not really a rationale. You need to explain what exactly those two images are meant to illustrate. Why do you need these screenshots? What in the article are they meant to illustrate? What in the article would be difficult to understand without them? Why two screenshots rather than just one? Why these particular two? Fut.Perf. 07:23, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

How to create an userbox?

I want to create a new Userbox but I don't know how. I wanted to ask my fellow Wikipedians but they are all off-line. Can anyone help me? Please. Thank you for all your help.--Tamravidhir (Jiva is Shiva!) 09:11, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

The easiest thing to do is to create a new subpage in your userspace (e.g. User:Tamravidhir/Userbox), then copy the syntax of an existing userbox there and amend it accordingly. You're welcome to use one of mine (try User:Yunshui/Userbox Yang style) as a basis if you like; just change the text and image to whatever you deem appropriate. Let me know if you need more help. Yunshui  09:40, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Forgot to add - once you've done that, you can then use it on your userpage by transcluding it like any other template (for the example above, you'd use {{User:Tamravidhir/Userbox}}). Yunshui  09:42, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Something that needs doing on Wikipedia

Hi Tamravidhir, I saw your post on Moonriddengirl's talk page, where you wrote, "I have nothing much to do on Wikipedia. Please suggest anything."

I don't know if this is something that you could do, but I've had the Kalampattu article in my watchlist for some time, after trying to clean it up and add a reference in 2010. I've noticed that subsequent edits to the article have introduced new problems (unreferenced material, spelling, capitalisation, punctuation, grammar, etc). My problem is that this topic is totally outside my field (I'm English, living in UK, and have no knowledge of Indian culture and languages, so can only search for references on English medium sites). The article could do with some serious background research, good quality references, then proper structuring, rewriting in correct grammatical English, and a balanced view of the subject. Is this something you'd like to tackle?

Best regards — Hebrides (talk) 09:59, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Hebrides, (Hebrides? I like that name, I have read this name in the Solitary Reaper. As far as I know they are a group of lonely islands) thank you giving me the opportunity to edit Kalampattu. As you know (I hope you know) India is a country which is multicultured whith different communities living in the country. Kalampattu is a traditional art form of Kerala in south India. I am a Bengali, rather a North Indian. If you give me some thing related to Rajasthan, Goa, North India, Bengal, history, novels, Indian soap operas, mythology, Hinduism I may edit them but not anything south Indian culture. i know nothing about their culture. I hope you may find it strange that I don't know anything about my own culture, but I don't know everything about them. And secondly if something goes wrong then I am chopped, I don't want that. If you can offer any other article as per my interests (for more visit my user page) please feel free to post me.   Thank you so so so very very very much! Regards! --Tamravidhir (Jiva is Shiva!) 10:12, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

That makes sense. India is vast and has such rich and diverse cultures. I hadn't realised you were in the north.

It is really heartwarming to meet someone so enthusiastic about Wikipedia. I don't know what Wikipedia activities you find most satisfying, but I can share with you some of the things I enjoy doing. I think my greatest satisfaction comes from creating new articles – this can be very time consuming, but feels very worthwhile. Sometimes I find a red link in an article, and it prompts me to create a page for it to link to. Sometimes I search Wikipedia for something, and find there is no article. Occasionally I create an article from the list on Wikipedia:Most wanted articles. Or I may find a page on a foreign Wikipedia that doesn't have an equivalent page on English Wikipedia – I can then start from a translation of that page to build an English article.

When creating an article, I first gather all my sources – Google, including Google books and the Google news archive, and then other internet sources as appropriate to my subject (lots of national newspapers have an online archive, for example). I then work out an appropriate structure for the article, and then write each section, including my sources as references using <ref> (I find the "cite" templates very useful), but being careful not to use the same words as in the sources (i.e. avoiding copyright violation). Then the next stages are linking words and phrases to other pages, adding categories, and if appropriate adding an infobox, defaultsort statement, persondata for biographies, images, maps for places, interwiki links if there are any, and possibly a See also and/or External links section. (that's my basic "checklist", anyway)

Personally, I do all this in Notepad, and I don't publish anything on Wikipedia until I think it is complete and finished and I'm happy with it. This avoids somebody deleting it in its early stages! Every so often, I copy from Notepad and paste into a new page on Wikipedia, then use the "Show preview" button to see how it looks and check for errors, but I don't click "Save page".

Then when it is finished, I paste it into a new page, preview carefully, then save the page. I then immediately search Wikipedia for pages that I can link to my new article, and insert wikilinks – this will avoid somebody putting an "Orphan" tag onto the top of your page. Finally, if there are alternative names or spellings for your pagename, create redirect pages. I don't create enormous articles – usually they are about a screenful, and usually have at least five good references if I can find them (and often a lot more). I can tell if an article is reasonably complete if nobody seriously edits or adds anything much to it.

Forgive me if you know all this – I notice you have created a number of pages already.

Apart from creating new articles, another activity I find rewarding is using AutoWikiBrowser, which enables you to do a wide range of routine tidying edits by suggesting the edits and then allowing you to simply click the Save button to accept them. If you opt for RegexTypoFix it also checks 3476 spelling mistake patterns and corrects those too. I tend to load in links to all new pages, then run through them, tidying those that need it.

Hope that my ramblings may give you some ideas... Keep up the good work! Best wishes — Hebrides (talk) 14:18, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Well I don't create any article randomly. My one bad habit is that I do the entire article in Wikipedia, see preview ans then save it. Yes it takes time but it is worthwhile. I keep on editing it until it satisfies me. My interests are mainly Indian soap opera, history, heritage, mythology, religion and culture. Thank you for all your regards! --Tamravidhir (Jiva is Shiva!) 14:32, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Help needed

{{Help|Can we use rollback to remove good-faith edits. I mean like "when can you use it except removing vandalism?" --Tamravidhir (Jiva is Shiva!) 06:38, 27 November 2012 (UTC)}}

In general, no. Because rollback (true rollback, this doesn't apply as much to some of the Twinkle flavors) marks its edits as minor and doesn't give a descriptive edit summary, it's very harsh for any sort of usage outside of vandalism. There are a few other cases -- rolling back your own edits is generally okay (you're not going to complain!), and it does get used in undoing Very Big Messes sometimes, but mostly it comes down to reverting vandalism. This is all laid out more fully at Wikipedia:Rollback#When_to_use_rollback. Drop me a note if you have more questions. And congrats on your new bit! Did not help. :( --Tamravidhir (২০১২) 04:14, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
I guess your problem is the page being wide so horizontal scrolling is needed. It was caused by [14]. {{tlp}} doesn't line wrap. I have replaced it with {{tlx}} which does line wrap. The documentation for {{Help}} suggests to use {{tlp}} but that seems like problematic advice. PrimeHunter (talk) 04:55, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Dakshineswar Kali Temple

Hi! I was just reading this article that you nominated for GA. The article states that the temple is south-facing. But is the idol of Bhavatarini inside the temple also facing south direction? If yes, i have one curiosity. Do all, or most, of the idols of Kali Maa face south? In Maharashtra you would hardly find any Gods facing south, except for Hanumana and Shani. And i thought that this would be the case for all other gods elsewhere too. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 18:21, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I'm a writer for the international magazine Hinduism Today (http://www.hinduismtoday.com/), and I'm working on a short article about the WikiProject on Hinduism . Dakshineswar Kali Temple

Sorry Tamravidhir, but unfortunately I had to fail the article you nominated for GA. It had so many problems that probably couldn't be fixed in only a week. Take time to look at the review page and re-nominate it when it is ready. Regards. — Bill william comptonTalk 17:53, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hum 2 Hain Na

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hum 2 Hain Na requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
