Welcome edit

Hello, Ssgapu, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Speedy deletion nomination of Gapu edit

Hello Ssgapu,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Gapu for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Rijin (talk) 11:34, 28 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Gapu edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gapu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Not social media edit

Please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a place like Facebook where anyone can have a page. If you pass WP:BIO, and this can be proved with reliable independent sources WP:RS, you mey be eligible for an article - but very few students have that sort of notability. In fact, few people of any age have it. Peridon (talk) 16:06, 28 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Pupul Bhuyan moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Pupul Bhuyan, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 09:05, 29 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hey @GSS:, can you please check this article again. I had created the article in Odia some months before and due to lack of references in English media, I hadn't created this in English. But she won one title, that's why I got some more references and did this here. There are lots of references in Odia newspapers, but here English is required that's why we are using Englsih news references only.Sangram Keshari Senapati (talk) 09:57, 29 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
There are no such restrictions and you can cite sources in any language but those sources must be reliable, please see WP:RS to know how you can identify reliable sources and can support your draft. GSS (talk|c|em) 10:46, 29 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
@GSS:, sources are use to varify an article, that's why we use English references, so ope person could get the proof. And the references I've added are from some reliable sources like Orissa Post and My city links. And others I use from internet. Hope this would make this article reliable. -Sangram Keshari Senapati (talk) 10:53, 29 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ssgapu22! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Dear Rosguill, I don't know how you come to this point that I've taken money from them to create articles. Though, I'm not creating or editing articles on English Wikipedia, but there is an Odia Wikipedia, where I usually create articles everyday and this girl is from the Odia film Industry. Because, I use to attend different programs and all those photographs I've uploaded are taken from different places. By the way, this photo was taken at some news studio, where I went for some work. I usually click photographs of different actors, writers, politicians from different places like stage shows, music studios, news room, etc. Rosguill, you can check my contribution on Commons also. I'm afraid this does not clarify whether or not you have a COI. Did you take the photo and/or write the article as part of your work? signed, Rosguill talk 18:25, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Rosguill, I don't know how to clarify this. I had written the same article in Odia language in 2018 and that too during an edit-a-thon. And yes, I have not uploaded those photographs before, but while writing it here again, I have uploaded some photographs to commons. - Sangram Keshari Senapati (talk) 18:35, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'd like you to clarify this statement: By the way, this photo was taken at some news studio, where I went for some work. Was taking the photos or writing the articles part of a paid job? signed, Rosguill talk 20:53, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Deletion discussion about Subodh Patnaik (disambiguation) edit

Hello, Ssgapu22, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Karnataka, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Subodh Patnaik (disambiguation), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Subodh Patnaik (disambiguation).

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Karnataka}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hi Karnataka. Actually I had created this disambiguation page on Odia Wikipedia, as there are three people till now with the same name. Two are there on Wiki and there is one actor which is not written here. So, I had created the same on English Wikipedia. If it is not necessary now, I don't have any issues to delete this one. -Sangram Keshari Senapati (talk) 07:30, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Ssgapu22 no problem. Disambiguation pages are usually created when there is no primary topic, however Subodh Patnaik the screenwriter has been allocated as the primary topic, with the other person being mentioned at the top of the article.
I cannot delete pages, and any page that doesn't meet speedy deletion criteria has to be discussed - which is what I have done now.
If you feel the third person is notable enough, feel free to create that article here and there would be no issues with the disambiguation page. See Wikipedia:Disambiguation for more information, thank you so much! Karnataka talk 10:38, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

As per WP:NFO, a film is considered notable if it has received full-length reviews by atleast two nationally known critics or if it meets any other criterias listed under the guideline. I cannot find any credible reviews for the film Pushkara. Thilsebatti (talk) 04:47, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thilsebatti, this movie is in Odia-language. And for Odia movies, nobody from the national level media covers the news, there is no chance for a critics review. - Sangram Keshari Senapati (talk) 06:12, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry. I can only stick with the policies. I'm pinging DreamRimmer, who is more of an expert in movie related articles. Thilsebatti (talk) 06:14, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
