Hadar Goldin redirect? edit

You made good arguments for keeping it. At the very least it should be a redirect to the Hannibal Directive article. Plus it was done so quick there wasn't time to grab the current contents for those who might decide to.

I know deletion could be appealed; I've never done it before. Also not sure if redirect would be done through an appeal. Any thoughts? Carolmooredc (Talkie-Talkie) 20:37, 15 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

There is no policy-based justification for a redirect to Hannibal Protocol. SPECIFICO talk 00:18, 16 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
There's nothing against it and sometimes it is done. Just thought he made some good arguments and might be interested in idea. Also, please see WP:Wikihounding. Carolmooredc (Talkie-Talkie) 01:00, 16 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
That's absurd. It would be a POV Easter-egg redirect supported by OR belief contrary to RS reports of the event. SPECIFICO talk 03:20, 16 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Killing of Roi Rotberg edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Killing of Roi Rotberg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Chloé Valdary edit

I had to revert your edit because you removed the fact that Silverstein called her "Negro" (this is the most important thing, not that he said "Israel is your master"). Apparently Shabazz defends the racists as long as they are against Israel, despite having a picture of Martin Luther King (another black who supported Israel) and Malcom X on his user page. I ask you not to aid him by deleting the racist slur used by Silverstein. On the other hand, we could add in the following sentence, without removing anything: According to the Jewish Press, Silverstein also said that "the Israel Lobby is her Master." since The Times of Israel doesn't report that. Thanks and sorry.--Veritnight (talk) 19:19, 28 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

In my opinion, calling her "negro" is much worse, because Malcom X used the term "house slave" to refer to black people who opposed his radical views of racial segregation (MLK was one of them), but I seriously doubt that Malcom ever used the term "negro" to disqualify other fellow African-Americans. And I'm convinced that he would've deplored the use of such an offensive word by a white man against a black woman, simply because she supports Israel (btw, Israel is full of black Jews of Ethiopian origin). In any case, you can add anything you want, I'm only asking you not to remove the sourced information. Given the fact that in America the "n word" as they say is such a tabu and offensive word, I'm surprised that nobody sued Mr Silverstein.--Veritnight (talk) 19:38, 28 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

The article Palestinian stone-throwing has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. See Talk:Gaza City, where your concern is already answered. Btw, I absolutely prefer academic sources on history, but the given source still holds according to present standard. As you should know now; 1RR can only be broken if there is obvious vandalism etc. It can *not* be broken for what your POV feels is an "improvement". Death of Netanel Arami edit

I have moved the article to a neutral title. Neutrality is one of our fundamental principles.

You left your note on Drmies' user page. They do not appear to have edited since, but you should leave a new note at User talk:Drmies regarding your recreation of the page. That is where messages for editors should go. Yngvadottir (talk) 16:42, 26 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I haven't followed this, but if this was a killing then "death" is not NPOV, but an obfuscation. If it was not a killing, then death is appropriate. NPOV does not require that we call killings "deaths", as most deaths are not killings, and that word choice only serves to obfuscate. --Epeefleche (talk) 22:11, 26 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joshua Bonehill edit

Can you please explain why you struck through a vote on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joshua Bonehill? -- GB fan 01:57, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I restored the vote. Do not ever strike a vote without giving a very good reason. -- GB fan 03:23, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
At the time I struck it through, the user had been blocked. I thought that I was following routine procedure. That page was being edited by some people exhibiting very unusual editing behavior. I edit on Israeli/Arab issues, where editors are aggressively partisan, but don't hold a candle to Brit editors fighting about racism.ShulMaven (talk) 03:30, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
He had been blocked for 24 hours for edit warring. Just being blocked is not a reason to strike a vote. If you ever feel a vote should be struck, you MUST clearly explain in the edit summary why you struck the vote. I would limit the striking of votes to only a few reasons, sockpuppets of banned or blocked editors, voting multiple times (usually in this case it is just the Keep or Delete portion that is struck), offensive material (completely remove not just strike through) and personal attacks (completely remove not just strike through). Hope this helps. -- GB fan 12:01, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your IP question edit

Firstly, you didn't post that question to my talk page; you posted it to my user page, where it doesn't belong.

Secondly, I have no knowledge about the behaviour of any anonymous IP numbers. It's certainly true that the IP in question has happened to post comments to some AFDs where I also did, but they've also participated in many AFDs where I didn't, and I've participated in many AFDs where they didn't. And a simple IP lookup reveals that whoever they are, they don't even live in the same country as I do. The fact that the IP and I occasionally cross paths on some of the same AFDs really isn't anything other than coincidental, because AFDs where the IP and I don't intersect are far more common. As far as I can tell, the IP and I only intersect when the topic under discussion is a politician, and not when I initiate or participate in a discussion about any other topic — which in all likelihood means the IP just reads Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Politicians rather than actively following me.

I've been contributing to Wikipedia for over a decade, for the record — I'm quite familiar with the rules around sockpuppetry, and have never violated them in any way (in fact, I have a pretty strong record of enforcing them when I've come across violations.) Bedford Academy edit

Hi there. I wasn't saying you were. But you wrote... of an innovative construction method used.. where is the proof that it was in any way innovative? This is why the entry feels overly promotional and not encylcopaedic. It isn't really the type of content that is appropriate in a school article any way, however I guess it maybe could go as an external link... (without the 'innovative'). - Bleaney (talk) 19:03, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Murder of Ibolya Ryan - Thanks for positivity edit

Thanks for your positive comment! I appreciate it. Thanks also for the job done on the article. I am really trying to understand many of the rules here, some of them looks odd to me. For instance, why was the section about employer's attempt to collect money for body repatriation removed? This was properly referenced as per the Wikipedia rules. Sometimes I don't understand why certain things are done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.203.160.17 (talk) 21:18, 8 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, ShulMaven. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Death of François Murad".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. TKK! bark with me! 03:38, 25 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
