Worldwide Box Office of Weathering With You

Recently, I went through the page of Weathering with You, I found that a line 'The film grossed over ¥35.11 billion (US$322.08 million) worldwide.' where no source are added to confirm the gross. Can you please help me in relocating the reference for the gross. But, I have a thought in my mind that $322.08 million is too high for the film. Serana Moegi (talk) 04:10, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Serana Moegi. Thanks for contacting me. The best place to ask questions regarding a specific article is on that article's talkpage. In the case of Weathering with You, that would be here: Talk:Weathering with You. I pasted the question about the film's gross in this section of that talkpage: Talk:Weathering with You#Worldwide Box Office of Weathering With You. If you watchlist that page, you'll be notified if/when someone writes a reply. Hope this helps and thanks for becoming a Wikipedian. --Rosiestep (talk) 08:43, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

July music

July

Music happens, and if you scroll down far enough: 2 black cats! On the Main page now: "my" school. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:45, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

Gerda Arendt, aha! Found the black cats at Theenhausen! Very happy to see them -cats always put a smile on my face- but especially today as I had to deal with a medical procedure. Rosiestep (talk) 01:48, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
I took a lot of pics of one of them but black is a tricky colour. Perhaps I'll upload one more, for you, but it's just brick background, or should I say underground? Best wishes for your health. See where the rose goes --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:14, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
... it goes to Brockhagen? Gerda Arendt, I'm feeling better this morning; thank you. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:14, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Black cat, Theenhausen
It's the right cat, but alone and rather flat on the bricky floor of a terrace, looking. I just added cats (categories) to the applause pics. How do you call curtain call when there's no curtain? At least the hall received a start yesterday. - Far from uploading, article of the day not yet touched - 3 DYKs one day are a mixed blessing, + real life, pleasantly so. Patience is what they tell patients. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:35, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
here you go, feel free to crop further --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:38, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, no cropping needed; I like it just the way it is. And in about a month, he'll find his way to the top of this talkpage. Just wait and see. Thanks, Gerda. Rosiestep (talk) 04:48, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
More music: 2 songs, the morning song - about rising from being down, in more than one sense - is a GA, - there should be more given my initials, but I also want to care for articles of those who recently died (now Esther Béjarano), and psalms in memory of Yoninah, - more missing than there. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:03, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, you are so kind. Thank you for being thoughtful, and just for being you. Rosiestep (talk) 05:47, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, and enjoy your trip! - Did you know that Vivaldi composed cello sonatas? I didn't until I took the pic. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:44, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

Problem with talk page name

In moving Wikipedia:Women in Red/Historical overview of projects supporting women to its current name, I seem to have inadvertently incorrectly named the talk page which is at Wikipedia:Women in Red/Historical overview of projects supporting womenARoseWolf/Wikipedia projects supporting women. It would be great if you could sort it out.--Ipigott (talk) 16:03, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

Ipigott Done! Now it is here: Wikipedia talk:Women in Red/Historical overview of projects supporting women. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:53, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
Ha! I was doing it at the same time. Be bold! Right? Glad you got it moved, Rosie. Thank you. All is well. Thanks too, Ipigott. You both are gems. Btw, I was looking over Initiatives and saw WiR didn't have our social media platforms linked so I took the liberty of adding them. Please make sure I did it right. --ARoseWolf 17:58, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
Thanks Rosie. And you ARoseWolf, are becoming increasingly useful.--Ipigott (talk) 18:37, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
Perhaps you could also delete Wikipedia talk:Women in Red/Historical overview of projects supporting womenrojects supporting women which seems to be the unfortunate result of my attempts to solve the problem.--Ipigott (talk) 18:42, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott, done. Rosiestep (talk) 18:56, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott, It's all this time to myself (lol). I'm not hunting/gathering, tanning hides and storing herbs/veggies for winter and that's driving me crazy in and of itself. I'm having to relinquish control of that which is unnerving because of the importance of it. I feel like if I am the one controlling it and making sure it gets done then I know its done right and we will make it through winter fine. Not much I can do about it being in the hospital so I just have to trust everyone is doing their part and mine as well. --ARoseWolf 18:48, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
ARoseWolf, oh my -and I don't mean to intrude- but did I understand correctly that you are in the hospital? Rosiestep (talk) 18:59, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
Yes, I was diagnosed with AML which I was told is rare for someone as young as me and especially for females but they believe it could be genetic. Not to be too morbid but my mother basically bled to death when I was 18 months old. She most likely had AML and died before she hit 30 years old. Not very common for a woman her age. We aren't common women though, whatever that means. I was born with a rare form of Synesthesia. I don't mention it often and I don't go around looking for attention, sympathy or play the victim card. It's not the style of a warrior (lol). :) --ARoseWolf 19:11, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
ARoseWolf... Dear warrior, oh my gosh. Sending you a virtual hug and wishes for improved health! --Rosiestep (talk) 19:38, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
ARoseWolf: Don't worry too much about preparations for the winter. I'm pretty sure you'll find everything in order when you leave the hospital. How long is the therapy expected to last?--Ipigott (talk) 08:45, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott: I will be here until the chemo puts me in remission or I get a stem cell transplant. I refuse to mention the alternative though, like a warrior, I am prepared to walk that path should all else fail. It's funny actually, I lived most of my life ready to leave it and now I refuse to. I have things to live for and fight for now, I guess, though, I've always appreciated the value and beauty of life. It is a Song, a Dance, a Painting. Beautiful colors; I wish more could see with my eyes and hear with my ears. --ARoseWolf 13:31, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
ARoseWolf: Well you certainly seem to have the right attitude. I just hope for your sake that you are able to return to normal life fairly soon. It can't be much fun being locked up in a hospital for all this time. Are your family and friends able to visit or are there still corona restrictions? On the historical overview, I've contacted a few people and am waiting for reactions.--Ipigott (talk) 13:40, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott: There is definitely more restrictive visiting but I am under isolation protocol due to my neutropenic state so we mostly communicate virtually. They contact me every day. I miss my daughter so much. She is truly resilient. I wasn't sure how she would take this being as she lost her mother to cancer. She asked me one time. "Are you going to die from this?" I told her that I was going to fight for life, for us, to my very last ounce of will. She said okay and that was that. Later Brian, that's her father and it's a long story, told me he asked her after if she was really okay. He said she told him she is not worried because her Mama, that's what she decided to call me, is the strongest woman and warrior she knows. If I fight this as I said I would then she is confident I will win. Her faith can not be misplaced. I will fight, with all my Physical and Spirit strength, I will fight. --ARoseWolf 14:01, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
ARoseWolf: That all sounds very encouraging. But I suggest we continue these exchanges on your talk page where I see Rosie has also been contributing.--Ipigott (talk) 14:19, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

Celebration

August songs

My 12th today, DYK? I decorated, also for a birthday. Songs invite to more music, places, food and flowers. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:04, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you, thank you, Gerda Arendt. You always pop up with songs and flowers (music and food) to bring good cheer when I seem to need it. You have a knack for that! Sending a bucket of virtual songs and flowers your way. Rosiestep (talk) 20:09, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, listening and smelling fragrances! - Would there be one specific song to share? Such as "Geh aus, mein Herz, und suche Freud" (Go out, my heart, and seek delight, - especially when it's not easy to find) for me, which four people chose for me last year (and I was one of them)? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:23, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Today: 2 interesting DYK (I think), sadly 2 who died (on top of 2 from Poland yesterday), and a concert in which Daniel Barenboim just played piano, - and afterwards he and the orchestra received last year's prize (pictured). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:15, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, congratulations on the two DYKs! Rosiestep (talk) 21:39, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Actually, the RD was the harder work, and - that's new - the other one happened without me but I'll expand. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:48, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Today: 3 even, including that the author dedicated a summer story to a license plate number ;) - Five rows of images added, sunflowers and butterflies continued, four rows of 15 August alone, - a rich Monteverdi day, - enjoy! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:27, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, Gerda Arendt. A bit tired after five days of Wikimania, where I provided volunteer support on the Safety Committee, but I always enjoy viewing your images of places and songs and flowers and food. I'm smiling! Rosiestep (talk) 03:55, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Thank you! Today: Giedrė Šlekytė, and I saw a black cat in the fields. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:00, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
... and today: Teresa Żylis-Gara, the second soprano to impress me on stage, died, - long live the memory of her beautiful singing, remembered with thanks. 28 August 2013 was a special concert day: look. After Hillbillyholiday gave me a tree. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:58, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, @Gerda:. Sad to to hear another inspiring woman has passed; may she RIP. A see the snowy pine tree and the poem, and think about how seasons change the way we look at things. It's still summer here. Hot! No snow. No poem. No cat... yet. --Rosiestep (talk) 11:21, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
Did you look beyond the tree given in August 2013? My miserable condition to have needed it, miserable because a productive editor was supposed to be banned? On 28 August, I was sure he would be, and every drum hit in the orchestra supported that. On 29 August, one of the arbs had changed his mind. Celebration! - In my recent August songs, no new cat - I tried but they were too fast, and the black one is just black on dark grey - but a frog and 4+ butterflies, and rain, - did you see? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:16, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
Sorry, Gerda Arendt, I looked in your August songs, but I don't see what you're referring to. --Rosiestep (talk) 12:28, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
Did you click on "August songs"? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:30, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, Yes; I clicked the link at the top of this section. But I can't find what you're referring to. :( I guess I need more coffee and/or help in understanding? --Rosiestep (talk) 13:27, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
My mistake, frogs and butterflies are small, and you have to scroll to 22 August for one butterly + frog, and further up are the other butterflies, white and reddish. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:29, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

Adding Gerda's cheerful sunflowers here; they seem appropriate for August's last Sunday.
Gerda Arendt, thank you for clarifying; yes, so beautiful! I have a fondness for sunflowers as you can see. :) --Rosiestep (talk) 13:56, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
Lovely, also for having a cat watching again! I added a more subdued sunflower, DYK? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:25, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, "...more subdued sunflower..."?? And, oh, yes; I am so happy that cat watchers have returned.

Query Rosblofnari

Hello, Rosiestep,

I've been working on a long list of orphaned talk subpages and I've run into a few that are stumping me. They are archive talk subpages for a WikiProject Rosblofnari. However, I can't find a deletion discussion about this WikiProject or much information about it that would let me know whether these talk pages should be kept or can be deleted. I noticed on the talk pages that you participated in this WikiProject so I'm hoping you could tell me what Rosblofnari is, what this WikiProject was for and maybe why there was no deletion discussion about eliminating it. Thanks, in advance, for filling me in on this part of Wikipedia history. Liz Read! Talk! 02:51, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi Liz. Thanks for pinging me in this regard. Rosblofnari is an acronym for users Rosiestep (me), Dr. Blofeld, and Nvvchar. It was created because, at one time, the three of us were collaborating on a lot of articles and wanted a shared space to hold discussions rather than doing so on our individual talkpages. For historical purposes, I would like to retain the information contained in these talkpages. One option would be for me to create:
Thoughts? Rosiestep (talk) 15:21, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
Well, first, thanks for the explanation on the name because I was drawing a blank! As far as the pages, I think the best thing is to let you know the pages and you can look them over and decide whether you want to save them, move them or delete them.
These were the only pages listed. Hope they bring back pleasant memories! Liz Read! Talk! 18:40, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
These are the existing pages but as you mention, Wikipedia:WikiProject Rosblofnari and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Rosblofnari are deleted pages you could restore and move. I'm not sure if there were additional pages that were deleted, Wikipedia makes it difficult to search for deleted pages if you don't know the exact page name. Liz Read! Talk! 18:45, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
Liz, mhm. Let me give this some thought; Wikimania has me preoccupied. Perhaps pagestalkers will voice their views in the meantime. Rosiestep (talk) 19:53, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
Oh, man, I completely forgot about WikiMania! I had even signed up. Oh, well, maybe some of the sessions were recorded. Liz Read! Talk! 03:06, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Liz, I think all the sessions are available on Youtube. Tomorrow's the last day of Wikimania. If you have time to check it out, maybe I'll see you there!
https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2021:Program Rosiestep (talk) 04:26, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
  • These talk pages bring back fond memories of our highly successful collaboration. I certainly think it would be good to keep them. I was very sorry to see how Nvvchar finally felt compelled to leave after his GAs and other successes were torn to pieces by an administrator. These at least provide a record of his enthusiasm at the time.--Ipigott (talk) 09:36, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

@Liz and Ipigott: this is what I've done so far.

  • Restored:
  • Moved:

I will search for more subpages and make sure they are appropriately linked so we don't lose them again. I think we also need to add some clarifying information at the top of the project's mainpage. I think this is the right approach -leave this as an inactive wikiproject vs. moving it all into my sandbox- but I'm open to hearing other points of view. Encyclopædius, wondering if you have any thoughts on all of this? --Rosiestep (talk) 14:38, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks, Rosie, for sorting this out. I think this is a very sensible approach.--Ipigott (talk) 14:56, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott, cool! In the meantime, I restored these additional page. Will continue to search for others. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:43, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Crikey, that's going back a bit LOL. It was never a WikiProject, just a way to tie things together, no objection to deleting it.† Encyclopædius 16:36, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Using the online approach for recruitment

As for Wikimania, I enjoyed watching the WiR panel on YouTube. The combined presentation by Victuallers and you, Rosie, came over very well. It was good to see several of our most active participants talking rather than just communicating in writing. Good to see too that four of those mentioned in the Wikimedians of the Year presentation are women.--Ipigott (talk) 09:36, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

  • Thanks, Ipigott. @Roger and I were very pleased to bring together so many of our Women in Red colleagues. After Wikimania, I will move everything related to Rosblofnari (which is visible and/or I can undelete) to my sandbox per the naming suggestion above in order to retain a record of our history -- the power of diverse collaboration. Rosiestep (talk) 13:51, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
...and we got to mention our "editor in Luxembourg"! Great to see the faces of some of our heroes. Victuallers (talk) 15:54, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Indeed, Victuallers! I think it is important to give credit where credit is due. We certainly learned some things from this event (e.g. with 10 panelists, we need more than 45 minutes!), and I'm looking forward to doing it again when another opportunity presents itself. Rosiestep (talk) 03:59, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

I don't want to overstep the mark here, Rosie and Roger, but given the enormous progress online sessions have made during the Corona crisis, I have been wondering if Women in Red should not pioneer a one-day online editathon (perhaps a two-hour session repeated two or three times for different time zones) specifically devoted to encouraging new and existing contributors to prepare to write at least one new article about women. It could start with an inspiring introductory session and proceed with active exercises on key aspects of editing. Candidates could then be given a week to draft their first article, perhaps with a one-hour follow-up on lessons learnt. This would all require careful preparation but some of the Wikimedia panel members might be interested in participating.--Ipigott (talk) 09:18, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Sounds like a great idea, Ian, we should build on our zoom empowered recruits. If we involve our NZ and Aus followers then it could be of a (more) global appeal. Victuallers (talk) 09:24, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
@Ipigott and Victuallers Splendid idea! I'm all for it! We have hundreds of members. I wonder how many of them would like to participate, too? --Rosiestep (talk) 13:09, 21 August 2021 (UTC
Thanks Rosiestep and Victuallers for responding so quickly and positively. I think we could also draw on experience from Edinburgh, perhaps with the participation of Stinglehammer. And of course, as Rosie says, we would appreciate help from any other participants who have experience of online editathons and recruitment. Maybe a good time would be October (nothing very much on our ideas page for that month) when we could also open up opportunities for some of the the WikiEdu students, past and present. Maybe also a tie-up with Eric Luth (WMSE) and the Swedish worldwide interests.--Ipigott (talk) 13:36, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Stinglehammer would be a great choice as he can turn a newbie into the owner of an new article in an afternoon .... and without an immediate AfD. We could use our existing editors to partner our newbies and hopefully prevent AfD tears. Carol Ann was talking about an in-person editathon in October at Emmeline's house which might give us a hook for the online version or maybe Ewan has an event planned? I'll reach out to our editors down under via Twitter to see if it appeals. Victuallers (talk) 13:57, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
MurielMary and Oronsay are keen readers of this page. They may have suggestions too.--Ipigott (talk) 14:02, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the alert. I must confess I have not, until now, been following Rosiestep's talk page! Yesterday I participated in a six-hour online editathon on Zoom for the Performing Arts Aotearoa project and it was excellent. Admittedly, there were only 14 participants - a mix of experienced, fairly new and first timers. Firstly, User:Pakoire gave us a project overview, then we introduced ourselves. A number of breakout rooms were created - for new editors to help them set up accounts; for inexperienced editors to work with others; two rooms each with an experienced editor where anyone could go with a question; a room with a Commons focus; a tea room for chatting. As well as the Project page, there was a Dashboard and Google doc. Editors were encouraged to work on Wikidata and Commons as well as Wikipedia. The breakout rooms were closed after two hours and we all shared what we'd been doing. The breakout rooms were then re-opened and people kept editing or had a lunch break. Some of us chose to stay in the main Zoom room, but got on with work, not chat! The more experienced of us realised that each of us had tools we used and ways of doing things that others were unaware of: e.g. I use Rater, Twinkle and learnt from Rosiestep earlier this year to select "Article" when using "What links here"; while in Wikidata there's a gadget that strips urls from identifiers so that they are correctly formatted, but also works when adding Commons categories as Statements, to my surprise. Some stayed all day, some only the morning, some returned near the end. And lots of on-going support, mentoring and ways of keeping in touch were provided. I think it's important to allow sufficient time for people to practice what they have just been shown and the breakout rooms made this possible. And last year's editWikipedia4BlackLives and the OZ/NZ #1Lib1Ref worked effectively as online drop-in sessions. All that said, I'm not sure how WiR can upscale this model for worldwide roll-out! Perhaps we need a series of WiR editing circles, coinciding with Ada Lovelace Day on 8 October which is a popular focus? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oronsay (talkcontribs) 14:15, August 21, 2021 (UTC)

Hi Oronsay. Seems like yesterday's event was epic! I imagine it took a lot of planning? --Rosiestep (talk) 21:23, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
It was only switched from in-person two days prior. I had nothing to do with the planning.--Oronsay (talk) 22:56, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
I was the coordinator of the event Oronsay is describing. Great thread and keen to help from New Zealand for October - be great to build on learning about support for new editors. I look forward to further discussion. Pakoire (talk) 21:37, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi Pakoire, very cool! I'm curious what method you used for organizing your event. Did you do it on-wiki? Or a google doc? Or on Slack? or.... ?
  • As this seems to have gained some support, what we now need is someone to coordinate further preparation. Perhaps Victuallers would like to take it on himself or suggest someone else who has the right kind of experience. I can help out too, of course, but I've never been involved in the organization of editathons and have little experience of current online developments. I believe someone suggested it could be tied up with Ada Lovelace Day on 8 October. That might be worth considering.--Ipigott (talk) 09:43, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
I was "at" the NZ event via our Twitter account - tweeting about the dancers etc that were featured. A very productive session and one of the dancers from NZ was in Edinburgh at the festival so only just up the road from me. On Twitter I have been chatting and your suggestion of a longer training event appeals. It was noted that you can be trained in a day, but then forget a small detail and find yourself unable to do more. A weeks support should fix this. The antipodean crew suggest "12h hours with Australia" and I can see this might add more recruits and make it more newsworthy. Maybe we should copy this conversation to our WIR planning page? I think we need four or five editors to take an interest early on. I am interested in assisting and I think we have at least one antipodean. We need 1-3 trainers and ideally, I reckon, 10-20 hand-holders if we are going to cover 24 hours with a follow-up sessions that work in UTC and UTC+12 time zones. Victuallers (talk) 10:20, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Oronsay, ohhh, now I get it. I thought you were one of the organizers. I love your idea of tying in with Ada Lovelace Day on 8 October. @Victuallers and Ipigott: yes, yes, and yes. Time to copy this over to the WiR planning page. Once that is done, let's make sure that we ping those who might be interested in being part of this online approach but might not be regular pagestalkers of the WIR page. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:47, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
  • Rosiestep: I had in fact put it on our ideas page under October. What I would suggest is that over the next week or so we put a preliminary plan together and thent post something on the main WiR talk page which could also be linked in our September invitation. I was hoping Roger or you could make initial contacts with potential organizers/mentors. I was thinking we could have a half hour into sessions and then get to work on exercises, etc. But I see there are also other suggestions.--Ipigott (talk) 14:58, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
  • Ipigott, nice! I didn't notice the note on the Ideas page till now. IMO, for purposes of inclusivity, I would recommend copying this section of my talkpage to the main WIR talkpage now while carrying on the discussion over the next week on the Ideas page. Include a note saying that if you're interested in helping plan the event, please join the conversation at: Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Ideas#One-day online recruitment editathon. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:15, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
OK, I'll take care of this tomorrow.--Ipigott (talk) 21:28, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi admin. Please warn this user Koikefan. I added "{{More citations needed}}" maintenance tags for the filmography section of the article Petersen Vargas because the section is lack of source. But this user remove the tag without any reason. And he didn't provide more references for that section. He said that i am vandalizing the section, but no proof.

Question about Women in Red Project

Dear @Rosiestep i am participating by translating the articles to other wikipedia project, it's like creating biography to other project that helps other people in other countries to read about the Women BLP, is that counted as the project activity or not? —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 22:37, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi Sakura emad, yes! And thanks for what you are doing! --Rosiestep (talk) 23:06, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
well done 🙏 Thank you. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 00:27, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

vote has been cast

My vote has been cast in the election for the Board. And I have only cast one vote. I cannot think of anyone who bettter typifiies the true ideals of Wikipedia; or who will do a better or more thoughtful job of bridging the divide; and, also importantly, enabling better and stronger communication between those who run Wikimedia, and those who edit the encyclopedia. good luck!!! cheers!!     ---Sm8900 (talk) 🌍 01:38, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you, Sm8900! Rosiestep (talk) 03:22, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you, WomenArtistUpdates!! It was fun, plus, it was exactly what I needed to be focused on these last couple of weeks. --Rosiestep (talk) 00:24, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
I notice you have quite a few "hat tricks" (articles that fell into 3 WiR edit-a-thon events). Well done! WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 00:29, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
WomenArtistUpdates, oh, yes; I'm happy when it can work out that way! But, obvs; not always. --Rosiestep (talk) 00:33, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
That's a great achievement in a month where you had so much else to take care of.--Ipigott (talk) 07:53, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, Ipigott. Doing the translations for this contest calmed my brain (as does Qigong), which was stressed by the other things. Rosiestep (talk) 16:03, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

Female to women composers

Following this category change, it seems logical to me to change List of female composers by birth date to List of women composers by birth date and List of female composers by name to List of women composers by name but as these are already redirects, we need an administrator to handle it. Ditto List of 20th-century American female composers, List of Australian female composers. If you agree with the change, please go ahead as I think it will improve consistency. There are lots of other categories and lists where there are a mix of female and women but let's take one at a time.--Ipigott (talk) 14:07, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

Ipigott. Okay. Working on it now. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:44, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott, These are done! --Rosiestep (talk) 15:01, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick and effective changes. I've just discovered there's one more: List of female film score composers (which sadly is only a list of names). One of these days, I'll see if I can add some basic details.--Ipigott (talk) 17:21, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott: From List of female film score composers to List of women film score composers   Done --Rosiestep (talk) 23:39, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott: I have just added lifespans and refs to the List of 20th-century American women composers. I am happy to do the same for the List of women film score composers if you'd like me to.--Oronsay (talk) 02:41, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
Oronsay: I would certainly appreciate that. While you're at it, perhaps you could also add nationalities. I'm not too sure whether it is stictly necessary to add refs for blue linked names but of course they certainly represent an improvement.--Ipigott (talk) 08:02, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott: Please have a look and let me know if this is what you mean for the List of women film score composers.--Oronsay (talk) 02:21, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
Oronsay: Yes, that will also help if ever we get around to listing women composers by nationality on the same basis as writers, artists, etc.--Ipigott (talk) 06:25, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott, Yes, I agree. I'll go ahead and complete the list.--Oronsay (talk) 06:45, 7 September 2021 (UTC)

Thank you, @Bluerasberry, TheresNoTime, and Gerda Arendt! --Rosiestep (talk) 22:04, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
Rich Main page today: the first TFA by a promising author, the pictured DYK by my friend LouisAlain who is discouraged by an AN discussion, and one of the Recent deaths. Enjoy! I like a mature woman pictured without make-up ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:07, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, me, too. Love that picture of Nele Hertling. --Rosiestep (talk) 19:19, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
today: the day of bold red and black, for Dante who died 700 years ago, and Peter Fleischmann who died recently, leaving us films full of vision. Dante: just heard Inferno, imagined by a woman, the main character both speaking and singing with an inner 4-part voice! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:06, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, have you watched that film? If so, what did you think of it? --Rosiestep (talk) 22:46, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
No, actually none of his work. But he's underrated so when he died (and I noticed that he's overlooked, noticed only then, sadly), so expanding his article was the thing to do for the cabal of the outcast ;) - I saw the opera, concert performance. - Pictured today (even on the Main page): a conductor whom I saw at work with the student orchestra. I'll change my talk, keep watching, - more to come, including another opera's concert performance. I like to see my memories on the Main page. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:20, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
... such as today's Beethoven, and my brother was in the orchestra, 10 July --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:33, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, I didn't realize you had such a talented brother. Kudos! --Rosiestep (talk) 17:30, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
Multi-talented. Latest surprise is that he co-authored a book. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:10, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
Today: a woman in red (back to the grannies), two who died under "in memoriam" and LouisAlain missed - my first editnotice read: "Every editor is a human being" which is quoted from a comment by Geometry guy in a 2012 discussion on WP:AN. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:03, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, nice! Thank you. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:22, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

  • Congratulations, like Kudpung, I only voted for two candidates, and you were the only one of those two who I voted for without hesitation. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 18:26, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, Ritchie333. Appreciate your confidence in me.
Belated congratulations from me too. I've obviously been too busy with other things. It would be interesting to know to what extent you are still able to support Women in Red and Women writers. You've been doing such a fantastic job over the last few years that it seems difficult to me to imaging the projects without you.--~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ipigott (talkcontribs) 09:17, September 26, 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, Ipigott. I'm sure it will work out fine. But, yes, it'll be an adjustment. Thankfully, both WiR and WP:WPWW have been around for years now and there are other editors who can fill in whatever gaps I might leave behind, e.g. someone else will need to be inclined to send out WPWW barnstars. Note, trustees can continue to be individual contributors, so I can continue to edit Wikipedia as Rosiestep. As for community/Affiliates/WikiProjects work, Trustees can serve as "advisors" (ask a question, I'll try to answer it), but not as coordinators, facilitators, leaders, organizers, promoters, etc. This is my current understanding but I'll circle back on this topic at WiR and at WPWW after my official appointment occurs and I have been properly briefed. Thanks again, Ian; I really appreciate your kind words. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:51, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
Under these conditions, it looks as if Roger would have to take over. But it would help of we could also have a day-by-day active woman admin to help out. Any suggestions?---Ipigott (talk) 17:36, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott, I know that WiR member HickoryOughtShirt?4 is an admin, but no idea how busy they might be with other things. With a bit of encouragement, some WiR members might consider becoming an admin candidate, for example, those who have been doing the heavy-lifting on the Ideas page this last year. --Rosiestep (talk) 20:46, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott, I was thinking about it but I am currently going for my masters degree and then (hopefully) PhD. I am not sure I can dedicate enough time. I would love to help out in any other way. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 23:25, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
