Walking on the Chinese Wall edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Please add at least a few lines of text to your article. Just headlines and an infobox aren't sufficient and someone might tag your article for deletion. Feel free to contact me on my talk page for help. De728631 (talk) 20:42, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's better. But then somebody had been faster than you long ago and wrote Chinese Wall (album) ;) Keep up the work though and go on editing Wikipedia. De728631 (talk) 20:52, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy Deletion notice edit

A tag has been placed on Walking On The Chinese Wall (Song), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Looneyman (talk) 21:14, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • You could have simply used the Walking on the Chinese Wall page instead of creating a new one. I've started a song stub over there. Let the admins delete the above named (Song)-page, we don't need that one. De728631 (talk) 21:18, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • That is a point actually, why create two seperate articles on the same song? Looneyman (talk) 21:20, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Walking On The Chinese Wall edit

A tag has been placed on Walking On The Chinese Wall requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. roleplayer 21:22, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • As you could see, the deletion has been declined. De728631 (talk) 21:30, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Welcome To The Edge - Billie Hughes.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Welcome To The Edge - Billie Hughes.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 04:43, 19 September 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 04:43, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Heart of love edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Heart of love requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WarlordFrederick (talk) 23:52, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Private conner 2.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Private conner 2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Two important questions.

  1. Why did you choose to leave a message for me, out of all people?
  2. What if any is your connection to that song?

Once you've answered those, we can move on to addressing your issue. DS (talk) 14:44, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Administrator Review of Editor Nomination to Delete of pages already reviewed before they can Nominate for Deletion edit

I now think I answered in the wrong place. I'm exhausted from this. I hope I didn't make a mistake but to answer your question I looked at notifications and saw that you were a reviewer of two articles I created - one around six years ago I think and one this year. There weren't that many articles created and reviewed so you were not very far down the list. I also wrote to Sagospirit who reviewed Tahiti Hut. I think a guideline should be suggested if not in place, that before an editor Nominates to Delete a page that has been reviewed by an administrator, the administrator should be "pinged" to review that editors' Nomination to Delete - and that editors Nominations to Delete and their rationale and the tone of the commentary should be reviewed and evaluated before creators other community members are dragged into a discussion wasting time better spent on improving an article or creating a new one. How are you related to User:Hiroman60 (an account that has never done anything except vote to keep at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tequila Mockingbird (song) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tahiti Hut)? How about to Roxanne Seeman and the other major contributors to that article, such as User:USC_Ben_Tan and User:CareKidney? ST47 (talk) 00:19, 21 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

A lot of young people come by my place and want to learn things about the music business. I am a mentor. When they do not know how to record, they observe but want to do something music-related to contribute. I also learn from them because if you review my editing, I am basic. Until this week, I knew nothing about how to even reply on my user page. Over the years (looks like since 2008) pages have mostly been basic - album pages with track listings, song pages, with Billboard citations. I've learned the inline citations over the last year or two because of people coming by. Additionally, young people come by from China and all over the world. They want to do something and offer to translate anything. This is why pages are translated into different languages. No one is being hired to do this. The Double Trouble page for Jacky Cheung in the Chinese wikipedia has a tag that says it is a bad translation. So that would be an instance where one of these young people from China would love to edit it -- but wikipedia is blocked in China. They use Baidu. Chinese in America might see it but they wouldn't even think to look there. Re Hiroman60, I have no relation. I suspect that because Earth, Wind & Fire are being honored at the Kennedy Center and are getting a lot of attention, that wikipedia pages involving the band and members will get more attention. I hope this makes sense. Also I wanted to reply to DS but I put my reply to him on my talk page instead of his before I was blocked, simply because I am just learning how to do this. If he has not seen it, I would most appreciate if you would let him know. DS has reviewed articles I have created 6 years ago and this year which is why I tried writing to him, because I do not know how to contact administrators for help and reached out to two who have reviewed pages created. Request reason:

I understand you are making an investigation for sock puppetry - I don't know whether the page is going to be closed before your investigation is concluded but it appears on the page as if the it is a conclusion. In looking at prior posts on my talk page, there is what I think an earlier post from Richard3120 for the album page Un Uomo Felice by Riccardo Cocciante saying that notability wasn't established. I then added citations including a Billboard Chart page showing this album was on the Billboard Italy Chart for weeks or months and others. He also said something about the covers by other artists not having to do with the album page not understanding that the Un Uomo Felice album contains duets with notable artists. These are of the most significant artists in Italy. Richard3120 then began redirecting pages I created without tagging or merging. Then Tequila Mockingbird, Nominating for Deletion. I did everything I could to revise, edit per criticisms. add citations to Tequila Mockingbird. Then he Nominated Tahiti Hut for Deletion saying it was on a non-notable album and it was a session out-take. I pointed out the album had been on the chart for months and there was a redirect that I could not see how to revert, as I try to create an album page first, he conceded that the album was notable. All with accusations to open an investigation which then goes on the page branding me as a sock puppet. In your investigation I hope you consider this because if you also go through the notifications I receive, administrators have reviewed my pages with no incident. In the three or less times in over ten years there has been a deletion or something like that, I have never responded. I learn something from it that I didn't know before and move on. I don't know how Wikipedia goes about handling what I am experiencing but this is why I commented in detail in my replies which are now crossed out. I am not asking you to not cross them out but the user Doomsdayer (there's a number after that but I don't have the time to go back and look at it but it's on the page) said he was following the discussion and came out with a compromise to merge. All of this is new to me but I'm guessing others are following the page too and now, before the investigation is concluded, anyone who has looked at it is concluding I am a sock puppet and that everything Richard3120 is saying and doing must be justified or, they just don't want to get involved. There was one reply to my post on my talk page (I think that's where it is) sympathizing about Overzealous deleting. I am guessing it must have been Richard3120 who has now redirected the album page for Un Uomo Felice, in effect deleting all of the information for it, after branding me as a sock puppet and getting me blocked. As I have said, I am not asking you to unblock me now while you are making your investigation as I do not have the time to ask for a discussion on undoing the redirect for Un Uomo Felice but I think in this investigation it should be looked at. When I did decide to take the time to add citations, revise, edit, it was met with the snarky comment "Do they ever sleep?" To begin with, Richard3120 said in his Nomination to Delete the "Tequila Mockingbird (song)" page, "an editor might say three recordings must count for something"... So may I please request that it is clarified that I am under investigation but the results are not conclusive. Say whatever you will, but there is NO sock puppetry, no one's being paid, and nothing like this has occurred since this account was opened at least going back to 2008. May I also suggest that there is a pattern of the behavior of Richard3120 that could also be investigated and that investigation, should you chose to initiate, could also be noted on the talk page or whatever it is called where all of this is being discussed, of the Nomination for Deletion. Multiple unblock requests edit

Request reason:

I have explained, no paid editors, no sock puppetry, no intended or unintended abuse. contributors User:USC_Ben_Tan and User:CareKidney were visiting my place and we were learning together. After the last ten days of reading about the culture of Wikipedia, I understand that what occurred may appear to be fake accounts but these are real people and the edits were such as labelling links, adding citations, creating boxes with credits from allmusic.com for album and related music pages on the same IP. So please unblock CareKidney and USC Ben Tan first but none of us have any intent in misuse or abusive behavior. If anything, now that I have learned more about the back end culture, the commentary of Richard3120 and Sergecross93 on the Nomination for Deletion of Tequila Mockingbird is WP: Incivility. I have no interest in edit warring or getting dragged into unpleasant controversy with WP:OZD. WP:AGF I understand wikipedia has serious issues with paid editors and sock puppeteering but that is not the case herea: this was an unfortunate mistake of editors without experience in the rules of wikipedia making contributions such as adding citations and labelling external links, that were not related to any opinions, facts only, in good faith, on the same IP. Regarding the Un Uomo Felice album page which Richard3120 redirected, this album was in the Wikipedia Italiano. I translated and improved the page. Richard3120 said no notability then redirected it, after all the work to create it, it just disappears. I then added citations including Billboard Hits of the World chart page with a chart for Italy showing the album on the top ten, along with online newspaper article(s) about the notable singers who contributed duet performances. Richard3120 replied that there was no Billboard Italy chart that year, that it was Musica e dischi as that is in small print on the Billboard Hits of The World Charts under the Italy Chart listing, which obviously was recognized by Billboard as they printed it with all of the other countries and Musica e dischi, was in fact the National Chart, but in the view of Richard3120 the Billboard citation was not a reliable source. The arguments and deletions are, in my opinion and with regard to any editor creating a page that is music related: Civil POV pushing, WP:CPP, WP:OWN and WP:OZD, for example A New Hope the administator SoWhy declined the Speedy deletion by Richard3120. When confronted by an administrator the error is acknowledged but from what I am seeing, administrators who do review these pages, do not want to get involved in a discussion that spins out interminably as WP:CPP. The idea of Wikipedia as I understood it, was to encourage improvement of the articles, for which there are appropriate tags, so that editors may continue to edit productively and peacefully. Much of this request (and the ones above) is completely irrelevant to the issue at hand. This is not the place to re-litigate deletion discussions or whether articles should be turned into redirects. Regarding the sockpuppetry, I refer you to WP:MEAT and WP:COWORKER. There's also an indication that this account may be compromised; see this comment. Huon (talk) 03:06, 28 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Talk page access revoked edit

I warned you, "It is abusive to have multiple open unblock requests." Your response? Yet another unblock request, while you still had multiple other requests open. I have revoked talk page access. You are either trolling or you aren't sufficiently competent to edit here. If your four open unblock requests are declined, that would leave you with WP:UTRS. --Yamla (talk) 18:54, 27 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Talk page access reinstated edit

As per your email request, I have reinstated your talk page access. This is solely so you can make an unblock request. Note that if you once again post multiple simultaneous open unblock requests at the same time, or if your unblock request does not address the reason for your block, you will once again lose access to your talk page. Take your time, read WP:MEAT and WP:COWORKER and in particular, WP:GAB. You don't need to post an unblock request today, it's far more important that you take yout time and get it right than that you get it done quickly. --Yamla (talk) 11:13, 16 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
