Hi, thanks for the review. I just found another bank that opened on 13th Avenue, and added it to the template. BTW, the source for Flushing Bank identifies it as the 17th bank to open on the avenue (in January 2012), making Northfield Bank, which opened in June 2012, the 18th. My India: The India Eternal Barnstar
Thanks a lot for your work on Khandana Bhava–Bandhana article. Without your help it was not possible to get the article on the main page. Firstly we aimed for Featured article, but that did not go well because of a) our late attempt b) close paraphrasing issues (which we have attempted to fix later) and c) lack of co-ordination between the FA nominator and primary editors of the articles. At the same time I wrote another article and asked another editor to nominate it for DYK. The editor went for holidays and I did not bookmark the DYK nomination page. Later I learned the article was quickfailed because of length. The article has a length of 20,000+ characters (mainly in lists), we could surely expand the prose section. Anyway, it was again unfortunate. At the same time, I started a third article, but the subject was so complex that it was not possible for me to finish the first draft of the article within 1 week (the article is still under construction). I wrote few more articles but, anyhow I could not find way to have something related to Swami Vivekananda on the main page on 12 January 2012, so I almost gave up hope. Thanks a lot for your help, kindness and contribution which helped to have this article featured in Did you know section of 12 January 2013 Wikipedia main Page (archived copy of 12 January 2013's main page) ! --Tito Dutta (talk) 02:01, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Note: Barnstar's title is taken from a book of Swami Vivekananda.

Yarrell

Hallo PoeticBent, I saw your edit comment, and I am very sorry you felt hurt enough to write it. My edits were hasty, but there is something of a mystery about Yarrell: his book was very widely cited and appreciated for its accuracy, but compared to the plentiful literature on Bewick, it seems to be very hard to find much on Yarrell either as a man or in terms of reviews of his work. I'll have a search on JSTOR and see if I can do a bit better there. I do not mean to be critical of your work - in fact, I'm delighted you are working on Yarrell and am hoping to see much more about him. Sorry again for any ruffled feathers - all the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:57, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Thank you, Chiswick Chap, for getting back to me. I suppose, this is only an unwritten rule around here in regard to joint editing; the exact same thing can be said in many different ways! – I examined the PDF copies of Yarrell's book in two volumes (cover to cover; each file over 30 megs in size), and didn't find a single mention of Thompson, nothing... not even one initial in over 500 illustrations. Strange. Poeticbent talk 15:59, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
Hallo again, PoeticBent, I have managed to lay hands on a First Edition! The Preface does thank Thompson "and his sons" for their long work engraving the figures; the artist who did the drawings and the printers are also handsomely thanked. The version you searched must have omitted at least that part of the preface, maybe lost or thought unimportant. I can scan the page if you're curious. Will also scan some of the engravings, of course. All the best - Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:26, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
The copy of the book by Yarrell available online (at the internet address provided in his article), is the fourth edition in four volumes, revised and enlarged by Prof. Alfred Newton and published by John van Voorst in 1871 (MDCCCLXXI). It includes a Prospectus signed London, March 1871 by Newton, with Errata, and only the Table of contents following. There's no introduction by Yarrell. I see what really happened. Thanks, Poeticbent talk 15:07, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Advice Polack

Hello Poeticbent. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Advice Polack, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: G10 is for pages that disparage, threaten, intimidate or harass their subject or some other entity, and serve no other purpose. This does not fit that bill; let the community decide at AfD. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 23:23, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

The AfD was closed because the page had been speedy-deleted G10 by Merovingian (talk); but that deletion was reversed by The Blade of the Northern Lights (talk), so I have re-opened the AfD. JohnCD (talk) 23:38, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Posting the name and link to picture was a violation of WP:BLP. I have rev-deleted them: do not repost. JohnCD (talk) 23:50, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
I think the intent here was to ILLUSTRATE the BLP problems with the article.Volunteer Marek 23:50, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
I'm not a lawyer. Although I always try to help others, I have no time, nor resources, to help a victim of an ugly smear-campaign defend himself against all powerful anons roaming through cyberspace these days. If it was about me, I would contact the wp legal team personally right away, but he probably won't. I gave a good rationale for G10. – If it wasn't for the facts, how else would that disparaging page be deleted. No doubt, Merovingian knew that too when making a difficult decision, Poeticbent talk 00:10, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
The page does not disparage anyone, but rather reports on what appears to be an established if sad ongoing event, in a way that makes clear the injustice of what was done. Since you are clearly familiar with Polish culture and media, it would be helpful if you would comment on individual sources at Talk:Advice Polack so we can sort out what is and isn't reliable information for the article. In particular we should, if at all possible, use sources which reveal as little personal information as possible about the individual involved, including his actual likeness. Finding such sources may be difficult and your help would be invaluable. EEng (talk) 04:18, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
I have no further interest in the matter. I'm sure you'll understand. Thanks, Poeticbent talk 06:18, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

No, actually I don't. You're concerned enough to try to get the article deleted through misuse of WP guidelines, but not concerned enough to do the hard work of vetting the article's sources. EEng (talk) 12:30, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for your supportive comment at my draft (not yet public) Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Piotrus 2. Foreseeing some potential stormy clouds, may I suggest that your comment there may benefit from an explanation of how did you became aware of the said RfA in the first place? PS. In case you would think my request is overeacting: [2]. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:52, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 26

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sirpa Lane, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Hamilton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thanks, and have some pierogi!

  Pierogi Award
Thanks for your support of my RfA. It didn't succeed this time, but that's no reason not to have some nice pierogi. Cheers, Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:18, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Precious again

poetic art
Thank you for your artistic and poetic way, covering Poland's history, culture and people, but also naming "a symptom of an illness of anxiety" with a clear view, - repeating: you are an awesome Wikipedian!

I just read a poem of yours. I had no idea how many times you used "precious" in "Letting Go of the Past", thank you, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:48, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

A year ago, you were the 114th recipient of my PumpkinSky Prize, repeated in br'erly style. Thank you for thoughts I share, on top of my talk, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:33, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
