The (pictured) should say who the image is actually of. It's kind of woolly for a DYK blurb though - perhaps ALT1: "... that Hollywood star Pola Negri (pictured) rose to fame thanks to the introduction of the studio system in Polish culture in the Interbellum?" Thanks for the comment, Smurrayinchester. I see your point about the "woolly" appearance of the original hook, but the problem is that "Negri" is not the subject of our new DYK article. Her name is mentioned in just one sentence in a long article about unrelated matters, and the "studio system" is completely peripheral there also (not even i-linked for that same reason). I want to draw attention to out target article instead. Poeticbent talk 22:12, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

I will side with Smurrayinchester here; I think his hook is more interesting and it should draw more people to click on the culture article than the original one. ALT3: ... that the developments in Polish film industry during the Polish culture in the Interbellum saw the emergence of stars like Pola Negri (pictured)?

~~Just a couple things~~ but this is well on the way for approval for Alt3. First off, incredibly fascinating and highly informative article that was a lot of fun to read. The article passes DYK criteria for date/expansion size and as far I can tell with the English language sources available (Footnotes #10, 16-19, 21-23) there are no signs of close paraphrasing or plagiarism. A lot of the sourcing I will need to take on good faith since Google translate is not much help for the Polish language sources.

But I would like to see a source for one section I noted in the article with a citation needed tag and could use some clarification on one of the reference links. With footnote #11 (Wawrzyn akademicki (Academic laurel)), I assume it will provide a source for the claim of Żeromski proposing the creation of the Polish Academy of Literature with the aim of "speeding up" the recovery from anti-Polonism? I don't know if it is my browser automatically routing to a different English language page but clicking on the ref link appears to just take me to a generic front page of the The Polish Book Institute. for Alt3 I appreciate the prompt attention. I'll again have to take the Polish language sourcing for the hook on good faith but you answered my other concerns.
