Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for Image:Ascent31.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ascent31.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Speedy deletion of Image:Fantasy1 brighter.JPG edit

A tag has been placed on Image:Fantasy1 brighter.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is a redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Fantasy1 brighter.JPG|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Missing source edit

Hello! The only thing is missing to these images is a source information. The copyright tag on each tells the copyright status. See more at Wikipedia:Image use policy the requirements to images. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 10:44, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

OTRS pending edit

Hello! I saw these images and everything is fine by now. I saw too you said you sent a copy of the email giving you permission. This was the right thing to do. I inserted the tag {{OTRS pending}} saying that you are waiting to the permission being stored on OTRS system. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 00:31, 27 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mort Fertel edit

Just wanted to make you aware that a {{hangon}} tag only works when an article has been tagged for speedy deletion, Mort Fertel is part of the WP:AFD process. If you make any meaningful changes to the article you need to bring them up at the articles deletion discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mort Fertel. The decision to keep or delete this article will be made at that discussion page. The relevant notability guideline for people can be found here: WP:BIO. You will want to read that and try and prove that the article meets any of the criteria in the articles deletation discussion. If you have any questions just let me know. --Captain-tucker (talk) 15:24, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image permission problem with Image:Fantasy1.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Fantasy1.jpg I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 11:35, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Swing 1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Swing 1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:51, 15 December 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 10:51, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Slow Aging edit

A tag has been placed on Slow Aging requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Topher385 (talk) 23:46, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Slow aging for deletion edit

Skyzoo edit

Hi! I didn't go through all of Skyzoo looking for copyright problems, so I'm not sure if there are others or not. Mostly because the main problem is that you added a great deal of unsourced content, which replaced the original content. The original content was well sourced, so we run into difficulties - unless something is clearly wrong, the original is the preferred out of the two.

In regard to copyright, the section on "The Salvation" seemed to be a direct copy from http://www.kevinnottingham.com/2009/07/23/skyzoo-the-salvation-artwork-tracklist/. As mentioned, I don't know if there were similar problems with other text, but the combination of lack of sources coupled with the copyright problems meant that it was best to start again. - Bilby (talk)

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, David Carter (British Entrepreneur) (disambiguation). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – David Carter (entrepreneur). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at David Carter (entrepreneur) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Altered Walter (talk) 12:26, 10 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Tariq Idris edit

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Tariq Idris, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.linkedin.com/pub/tariq-idris/51/876/50.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Avagmah edit

Hi, you can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. If you recreate

  • You should provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines.
  • The deleted text was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. The previous text was highly promotional, and was entirely about what the company sold, nothing about the company itself, which is spammy and makes it difficult to see notability
  • Text must not be copied from a website or sites. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by the organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain.

I'll shortly post the text here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:41, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Tariq Idris edit

Thanks for your message. You didn't say where the OTRS permission for the use of the text was posted, and I can't see it on this page. In any case, it makes little difference since the article was unacceptable for other reasons too.

  • The copyrighted text is far too promotional to be useful for Wikipedia's purposes. so there would not be any point in your jumping through all the hoops that are required. It was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: well known celebrity... treated many well known celebrities... Tariq is regularly consulted by the press and TV for his insight... has been at the forefront of developing new dental technology... prestigious... famous Golden Ratio... a complete smile makeover... world-leading... a leader in this field... —, and much, much more in the same spammy vein. It's a press release, not an encyclopaedia article.
  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted. Although you gave some references, they were mainly to newspaper interviews with him. Furthermore, the unsourced claim regarding the GDC finding of professional misconduct is potentially libellous.

See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Cindy(talk) 06:31, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Wilddesign edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wilddesign, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Orphaned non-free image File:Logo AceParking Management Inc.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Logo AceParking Management Inc.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:27, 3 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Quest-at Hopkins.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Quest-at Hopkins.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

Speedy deletion nomination of TextMarks edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on TextMarks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Adopt-a-user edit

Hello. This is a courtesy note to inform you that I have removed the "adopt me" template from your User page. You have not been active on Wikipedia for some time (May 2017 - just one edit in that year). Its presence misleads others into thinking that you are still seeking to be adopted and to be guided by another editor under the Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user scheme. Obviously, you are completely free to reinsert it if you return to active editing and want to seek adoption again. (Just 'undo' my edit in the history of your user page to put it back). For simple questions about editing, just ask any of us at The Teahouse. Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 12:26, 28 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:11, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Edit-warring edit

FYI, this is edit-warring. When content you've submitted is reverted, the onus is on you to leave the status quo and open a discussion to seek consensus for the changes you want made. This is a basic element of our Bold, Revert, Discuss (BRD) process. The restoration of this content is disruptive. It seems to me that when someone goes out of his way to not say that he is gay, that hardly qualifies as "openly gay". Maybe you have a different definition? Further, the source explicity says "the filmmaker has never explicitly come out of the closet". Note that the previous assertion is WP:OR on a WP:BLP. © Tbhotch (en-3). 17:10, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Ronaldo Candido edit

The article Ronaldo Candido has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject doesn't meet WP:MMANOT

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:01, 20 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
