Canvassing

It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.150.87.242 (talk) 17:04, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Jay Sures Page

Hello, I am hoping you can help me with the Jay Sures page. You have made previous edits to his page and I am hoping you would be willing to take a look at the flags on the page. This page was flagged in February 2018 as having a major contributor having a close connection with the subject. Jay Sures, the subject of the article, has not edited this page since August 2018 and the page has had edits since that time. I work for Executive Writing, and as part of my consultancy work, I work with United Talent Agency, so I will not make these edits myself. EWChristine (talk) 18:21, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Additions to Jigee Viertel page

Thank you for your building out of the bio box on the page Jigee Viertel. While those additions are useful, the inclusion of Viertel's inlaws' info is distracting in the body of the page. Should a reader be interested that info, it is accessible via the linked page for Budd Schulman. Would you consider removing those references in the body while keeping them in the bio box? Making ship names italic

I don't remember the details, but there is some "baked in magic" in one or more of the "infobox ship" templates that automatically tries to italicize the "ship name" part of the article title. This doesn't always work.

When it doesn't, you can fall back to |display title= in {{Infobox ship begin}} but what use on that line must be used as documented in Template:Infobox ship begin. If it does not, it will change anything. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:05, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Hal, read the guys profile. He loves to edit the net worth of billionaires so I would say he is someone who has a deep interest - this is not canvassing since I am leaving a message on the user talk page of concerned editors who has made substantial edits to the topic or article. My message was completely neutral.Patapsco913 (talk) 00:19, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
Yes, but did you take it upon yourself to notify someone who is inclined to dislike the parameter? What you did was an, albeit small, attempt to sway the discussion. Going forward, it's best not to invite individual editors who are extremely partial to a certain side of a discussion. It's not conducive to establishing a proper consensus. ~ HAL333 00:22, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
How do you know he is partial? The only edits he has made are to the net worth of individuals. I think he would be fine either way since he enjoys it. Anyhow, if it gets deprecated, I am going to need his help in putting the links in the body. I am not sure where you get your info but I just went through 30 billionaires and only ~1/3rd have the citation in the body with many of the rest having the infobox current and and the amount in the body as stale. How many have you looked at? Just the super billionaires? Patapsco913 (talk) 00:31, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

July 2021

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. I see that others have previously brought this up with you. A greater level of communication is expected for editors such as yourself with advanced permissions like autopatrolled. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 02:02, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
