Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hermeticism, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Transmigration. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:17, 28 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Important Notice

edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hi Olden Creed! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Karakoram and Himalayan peoples

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Karakoram and Himalayan peoples indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction

edit

The following sanction now applies to you:

You have been indefinitely topic banned from all pages and discussions concerning India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, broadly construed. Please read WP:TBAN to see what "topic banned" means.

You have been sanctioned for adding contentious unsourced content and original research after warning.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Doug Weller talk 18:17, 9 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Notice of Arbitration Enforcement noticeboard discussion

edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a report involving you at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement regarding a possible violation of an Arbitration Committee decision. The thread is Olden Creed. Thank you. —DanCherek (talk) 02:40, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

To enforce an arbitration decision and for violation of a topic ban as discussed at arbitration enforcement, you have been blocked from editing for a period of one week. You are welcome to edit once the block expires; however, please note that the repetition of similar behavior may result in a longer block or other sanctions.

If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}. If you intend to appeal on the arbitration enforcement noticeboard I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily. Johnuniq (talk) 10:26, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reminder to administrators: In May 2014, ArbCom adopted the following procedure instructing administrators regarding Arbitration Enforcement blocks: "No administrator may modify a sanction placed by another administrator without: (1) the explicit prior affirmative consent of the enforcing administrator; or (2) prior affirmative agreement for the modification at (a) AE or (b) AN or (c) ARCA (see "Important notes" [in the procedure]). Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may at the discretion of the committee be desysopped."

Repeated breach of topic ban

@DanCherek and Johnuniq: after 10 years I still don't know how the process of AE works, so I'm just pinging the two of you: it seems to me that Olden Creed breached their topic-ban again diff diff diff. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 05:46, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Olden Creed: You are topic banned "from all pages and discussions concerning India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, broadly construed" as explained above. You recently edited Historical Vedic religion which is covered by that topic ban. Is there a reason you should not be indefinitely blocked? Johnuniq (talk) 07:08, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Johnuniq (talk) 23:44, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Olden Creed: As explained above, your recent edits violate the topic ban. We could discuss that if you were able to respond to messages. Any administrator is welcome to remove this block without consulting me if Olden Creed acknowledges that the topic ban exists and shows an understanding of what it means. It would then be possible to examine why there is a topic ban and see whether an appeal might be successful. However, communication is required first.
