Miss Bono, I replied to a couple of your emails. It is OK to send off the email we discussed to Arcane Collective. Use the edited text, and send me a copy by open cc: I don't mind them having my email address. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 21:46, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Where

Hi! where to you go to create an article? Tucker2006 —Preceding undated comment added 00:33, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello Tucker2006. The process is called Articles for creation, and is the best way for new editors to start articles. Once you have experience, and have gained some trust and credibility here, you can create articles without going through a review process. Don't hesitate to ask for help.Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:12, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Re: Importance of a WikiProject

The Chocabeck article looks like a good stub. You'll want to add more sources, particularly when you expand the article by adding sections on production and critical reception. Take a look at The Joshua Tree for an example of how the article should eventually develop. You'll also want to create the article's talk page with banners for WikiProject Albums and WikiProject U2. As to your question about requesting an interview with a WikiProject, the U2 project has been done before so you'd need a major shakeup in the way the project is run and/or a big increase in FAs and GAs since the time we last interviewed the project. Alternatively, if the project is hosting a major collaboration with other projects or sponsoring a contest, we might be able to feature it sooner. Larger, highly active projects can pull off big initiatives like this, so they have more to talk about and typically get repeat interviews. –Mabeenot (talk) 01:35, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Talk:Wide Awake in Europe/GA1

Miss Bono, you opened the above Good Article review on April 19, and have yet to review it. Are you still interested in doing so? If so, please begin the review. If not, we can put it back into the pool to be reviewed. Please respond with your plans, here or there. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:59, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

BlueMoonset no I am not the right person for making a review, please feel to put it back again. Thanks for your comment. Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:00, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll arrange for the nomination to be made available for a new reviewer. BlueMoonset (talk) 13:44, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
BlueMoonset Thanks and sorry for the bother :) Miss Bono (zootalk) 13:45, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello. You have a new message at Anna Frodesiak's talk page. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:20, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Will this help you?

I get the Rolling Stone magazine both in regular print form and some small bits online. Today, I got the following: [1]. It appears to be about the band, U2 (I didn't read it but) it may have material for Bono, If not, but if it has relevance to the band, I would hope you would place what applicable info you find there on the page for Bono or U2 as well. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 16:36, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Rolling Stone magazine excerpts in email

Look at this: (I assume you do subscribe to twitter? Because I don't.) [2] Scroll down and see all those links in the bottom left corner, too.

Are you in Cuba or are you living there permanently? Habla Espanol, o Voce fala Portugues?  :) My English now is taking over! I can not repeat the wording from the email b/c it violates the Wikipedia copyright rules, and even that of the USA and most countries, and I'm really sorry about that. I CAN email you the page I got from them, with the link to the article, OK? That is acceptable, and perhaps there's info there that might help.. I've been getting their daily emails for years so I don't know how I signed up for it. I did not have a subscription then, so somehow, it's possible, at least in the USA. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 18:21, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

I was born in Cuba 19 years ago and I live here. Hablo español. I am not in twitter or any other site or cummunity (just Wikipedia), so if oyu email me the page I won't be able to follow the link. Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:27, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Rolling Stone magazine excerpts in email

Look at Rolling Stone.com-- this: (I assume you do subscribe to twitter? Because I don't.) [3] Scroll down and see all those links in the bottom left corner, too.

Are you in Cuba or are you living there permanently? Habla Espanol, o Voce fala Portugues?  :) My English now is taking over! Sorry, I didn't look around enough. See this here-- it is the online Rolling Stone.com. That's where the email version came from that I get daily, and don't see why you shouldn't find more. [4]. That should help! Also, by the way, on my user page, second from the bottom of the page, you should be able to see the names of editors/admins/beaurocrats with whom I have made friends here and I respect and go to them for just about anything- when I don't know things, or can help, or vice versa, etc. One, Suede 67 isn't editing here anymore, but the rest can also help you if you only ask them! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 18:33, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I'll ask for help when I need it to the other users you have on your user page. The matter about my Internet access is that it is expensive and I cannot afford it. I wish i could surf on the net but I can't Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:51, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
Claro. Works for me. If you can not get me to answer you, it is only my health problems, OK? So, are you a resident then, of Cuba? If you do speak Spanish that fluently then the es.Wikipedia can also use your expertise, too. Do you have internet cafes there? Is that what is so expensive? Or libraries? Part of my family are from Brazil, but I confess so few Americans speak Portuguese and we have so many new residents (both legal and illegal) living here in the Washington, D.C. area that my ease of use of either language isn't as good as it should be. If you do contact anyone on my list of helpful Wikipedians, you may wish to ask if they can not help you, if they know anyone else who might be willing to work with you. Also, I don't know much about the Wikimedia Foundation, but they do have scholarships for some editors-- one asked to interview me but I just could not reveal that much. It is a thought, though. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 12:19, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
To be honest, I never thought about the Wikimedia Foundation, until 6 months ago when the other editor contacted me. Have you noticed the Wiki-books people make? They are for sale to pay costs for everything we use, like the servers that we use for Wikipedia and Commons, and is found here: [5] It should be worth checking out for you, with your computer skills and so few editors in Cuba that know English as fluently as you do! Take a look! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 12:38, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Yes, you can!

Articles written in more than one language are listed and linked in the bottom left margin. The Wikipedia is desperate for editors who can translate articles or correct bad translations! See the other languages if you look at U2? It's your choice. The Wikimedia Foundation, I'm pretty sure it's a student internship. I am not sure, but I think you can get paid and student credit for an interview of something in the Wikipedia you find interesting. That man asked to interview me because I am in the Wikiproject:Guitar group. I think you would be great, both as the person interviewed OR the interviewer, since most people who edit the English (en.Wikipedia) are in countries that do not have good relations with Cuba, and your perspective would be fascinating. Here in the USA we never hear about what it is like in Cuba! I have to go to Al Jazeera just to find out about a lot of things! Ask User:Moxy if he knows those opportunities. Also, remember you can email people if they enable it- like you and I have done. I will email you about more. ¡Besos y abrazos, amiga mia! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 14:22, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Help

I want to delete my account. How can I do that? Miss Bono (zootalk) 17:30, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Accounts can't be deleted once they're registered. So if you are thinking of such a thing, the best thing would be to stop editing. Regards--Glaisher (talk) 17:43, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Laura, please don't rush into anything. My advice is to take it easy, say nothing to those who disrupt, and discuss things calmly with me. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:14, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

J what do you suggest??? Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:17, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

  • I agree with Jim, don't rush. OMS decided to take me on personally, and has left you alone. JohnCD left him a note explaining that we were only being nice by tidying up the formatting on his user page and letting him know that this isn't a social media site (I think someone told you and I the same thing a couple months ago on my talk page). Anyways, there are no worries. OMS does not want our help anymore, and I am inclined to respect that request. I suggest that you do the same. Don't try to talk to him for any reason at this point. If by some miracle you end up working on the same article at some point with him (I don't expect that to happen) and there is a conflict, then simply ask Jim, TOS, or myself for advice and don't respond to him directly. There is no need to stress yourself out about it. Feel free to take a wikibreak if you need it though, I intend to try enforce my own wikibreak (well, not strictly...) shortly  :) Technical 13 (talk) 18:46, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Laura, I agree with T13, please don't make any hurried decisions. Take a short break and time to think. You've made some really great contributions here and nobody wants to see you go. Rejuvenating wikiproject U2 in itself is a great achievement and there is also going to be some U2 related article that can be improved. NtheP (talk) 18:56, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Technical 13, NtheP, Cullen328 I am stressed, anxious, nervous.... dont want him go after me and I want to change my user name. take a look at cullen talk page's last comment. is that a threat?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:55, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Laura, I suggest you take some time off from all that's going on here.... Just try working on some articles, or maybe hang around at the Teahouse.
If you'd like, I'll bring some OJ for you, and we'll see how we can improve Bono to maybe GA or more. What do you say? :)

Not really a threat

Laura, I do not feel threatened by OMS. Now that things have blown up, I will tell you that one of the things I said in my emails yesterday was a recommendation to stay away from OMS. This person has never been your friend. You have plenty. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:09, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Jim, I saw that as a threat Miss Bono (zootalk) 20:15, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
I understand that you are concerned about me, and I share the feeling about you. We are dealing with a sad person here, who gets pleasure out of making other people upset. When you freak out, it gives this person a sick thrill. This person has been indefinitely blocked. Please don't let this sad person win. Ignore them and move on. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 23:17, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Also, don't worry about his accusations of me being a SOCKmaster. I've gone through the IDENTification process and will be putting in for account creator rights tomorrow. Technical 13 (talk) 23:43, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Other branches of which Wikiipedia is part-

First, I'm waiting for an ambulance-- I like helping others though, and I am very sick saw your note while looking for a message from my Dad... Sis, your computer skills far outweigh mine. Nothing need be political- but be aware that some topics are inherently so. My suggestions: click the little arrows in the left margin for starters, and there are lots of ways to help in the Wikipedia (and other associtated wikis). I am not an Admin., and (still) believe I'll never be one, as I do not like confrontations! What you can do is check out the Village Pump for help & input, or other trusted editors like User:Moxy. I do know enough to know you can surf from here to aka Commons, other language versions of U2, and like the En.Wikipedia, there are plenty of bilingual editors who may wish to assist you. I never really knew anything about the other related projects until recently, as I said, so you will need to surf through if it's what you are hoping to do. I never knew about it, until I was asked if I would mind being the subject of an interview, but it just wouldn't work for me, for personal reasons. That's all I can suggest, look around, ask questions, and work on other people's articles, even song pages, to be ready to try to bring any article to Wikipedia:Featured articles-status. Best of luck to you. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 20:02, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Your questions

Hello Miss Bono,

It takes about six hours to drive from Stanford University to Los Angeles in good traffic conditions. LA is famous for bad traffic.

I have never paid much attention to romance novels as a literary genre, though I have no objection to them either. I do enjoy romantic movies from time to time.

My son James is a bass player who has been a member of rock bands for ten years. His bands aren't big successes, but rehearse and perform regularly. He is familiar with many of the bars and night clubs around Northern California where rock bands perform, and what that scene is like. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:59, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Jeepers

Check out Jeepers Creepers (song). Does Spanish have a minced oath, a slang substitute word for "Jesus"? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:02, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi!!, Cullen328. I think that maybe "Cielos!" or "Dios mío!" people used to say "Joder!" a lot... Miss Bono (zootalk) 15:05, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
In all honesty, I never thought of this word as related to "Jesus" until you asked your question, and I started to do some research. To me, it was kind of a goofy slang term that people would say when they were surprised. And an old song from when my parents were kids.
As for "cielos", I understand that the literal meaning is "skies" and that a closely related meaning is "heaven" in the religious sense. In English, it would be easy to use "skies" as a synonym or metaphor for "heaven" and vice versa. Sometimes, we talk about "the heavens" with no religious meaning, but more as a popular term related to astronomy, the study of the stars and planets and galaxies. So, if "cielos" doesn't have any goofy, jazz age, 1930s tongue in cheek connotations in Spanish, then it might not be the best translation for "jeepers". But always remember that I am just one 61 year old guy, who still has a lot to learn. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:22, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

You can do whatever you want, but I would have some concerns about undue attention from young males. You might want to get an opinion from User:SarahStierch or User:Heatherawalls. They both have photos on their userpages, but also have or have had paid professional involvement with the project. I guess I advise caution. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:42, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

I've asked Sarah. I'll wait for a response. How's work doing? I always look forward for Cullen328 appear in my watchlist :D Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:48, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
I have always been out about who I am on the internet for a long time, however, I'm also in my 30's and I'm an established person. I'm not sure how old you are, but, if you are a teenager, I'd probably skip putting a picture of yourself on Wikipedia for the time being. Just my opinion. SarahStierch (talk) 20:10, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
I am 19 years old, Sarah! Cullen328 already saw me. Thanks for your advice I won't upload any ppicture until my 30 (hope wikipedia lasts enough for that):) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 20:13, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
  • (talk page stalker) Laura, I'm a 34 year old male, and you won't find my picture on Wikipedia (at least you better not :0)... There are crazies out there that take Wikipedia way too seriously (like OMS who is now stalking Anna_Frodesiak) and since I give enough other information to get within 50 miles of me, they don't need to know what I look like too (although they could figure it out searching my real name on other sites)... Anyways, I wouldn't think it wise for you to put a real picture of you up right now. If you want to get one of those cartoonized ones, that would probably be safe. Technical 13 (talk) 20:22, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Awwww, Technical 13.... thanks! Is good to know that people take care of me :)... Thanks Jim and Sarah :) Thank you so much for your advices. Now I am sure I won't upload any pitures. Cero, Zero, Non! :) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 12:07, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Facebook Templates

I have no problem with them, so long as they are used sparingly. If we have loads of them all over the place:

  • We won't look professional.
  • Facebook may sue us.

I suggest restricting them to user pages and user talk pages. KägeTorä - (影虎) (TALK) 14:34, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

I meant what do you think about my user page. I revamped it a couple of days ago and I would like to hear everyone's opinion. so, if you liked it add a 1 to the like box and if you don't liked it add a 2 to the dislike box :) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 14:38, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, I thought you meant the Facebook Template, because that was what we had been talking about immediately prior. :) Looks good, anyway. I wouldn't have the time to do something like that. KägeTorä - (影虎) (TALK) 14:51, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Here's the syntax you need; you can paste it into the article the first time you reference the source:
<ref name=Cubillo>>{{cite AV media| people=Cubillo, Carolina (Director) | date=7 December 2009 | title=Callejeros Viajeros| trans_title = Street Travellers| medium=Television production | location=Ireland | publisher=[[Cuatro (TV channel)]]}}</ref>
Thereafter, you can use this wiki markup to reference it:

Anyway, the one I memorized is this:

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God will be with you, wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Great, huh? --PhoenixFire contribs 13:51, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Yeah Phoenix, my favourite is this one: ,
"Call unto me and I will answer thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3. Bono calls it "God's phone number". Pretty cool. You should know, I believe in God, not in religion. Miss Bono [zootalk] 13:57, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
:D Me too! --PhoenixFire contribs 14:02, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Y'all could have continued on my page. I love the quoting of scripture as long as it is not used as a weapon. See I like these on your page because they are assuring and say "don't be afraid". I'm literally a fraidy cat every minute. Where I live it is very "churchy and Christian" and people will actually "feel led" to give you a Bible verse that is supposed to be like a personal message from God. So once a waitress gave me Jeremiah 29:11 and it is pretty perfect for me:
For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. thanks ツ Fylbecatulous talk 18:30, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Fylbecatulous As I said a couple of month ago and a couple of hours ago too; I believe in in God but not in religion. I enjoy reading the Bible as I do listening to U2 music (which is a lot), but I don't like people who are fanatic, that's not my thing. Bono once said: ...religion often gets in the way of God... Miss Bono [zootalk] 18:52, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
I actually do say up to the heavens that whatever kind of Christian Bono is, that's my faith too. Because I know, I know that God loves Bono and he's not in a church, so it can't be necessary, right?
Fylbecatulous I don't like to talk about religion or politics here but, here is what I have to say on religion. In my opinion and not because of Bono's faith- I think that God is everywhere, not just in a building (church). God is love and love is everywhere. And we don't need to pray for He to forgive us for our sins because, even before we sin, he has already forgiven us. Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:05, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Agreed. --PhoenixFire contribs 19:16, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Actually, not completely, because I feel Christians should pray, but without pressure, because my best guess is that he wants us to want to be with him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hawkmist (talkcontribs) 19:20, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Phoenix, I didn't say we don't have to pray, but we don't have to pray for he to forgive us. We have to pray to thank Him... fro love, for life and for everything we have. Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:25, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
What I meant, Miss Bono. --PhoenixFire contribs 19:31, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Herson Capri

Hi. When you translate pages, like you did from Portuguese with Herson Capri, you need to acknowledge the source for your article, preferably both in the edit summary of the creation of the translation, and at the talk page of the article, using Template:Translated page.

You also need to turn the machine translation into basic English text, things like "He received the Barão do Serro Azul commendatory abbot" are funny but not meaningful. Something like "He was nominated for the Barão do Serro Azul award" is probably what was meant instead.

Further: all biographies of living persons must have sources, or else they will get deleted (usually after seven days), no matter how notable the subject is.

Finally: if you no longer actively work on an article, remember to remove the "underconstruction" tag. A bot will otherwise do it after 7 days, but it is confusing and even annoying for other users when they encounter the tag. Fram (talk) 14:00, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello,Fram. I am still interested in working on Herson Capri article. I am not using any translator, so I might have some grammatical mistakes and others. I was very busy these days so I couldn't do much for it, but I am planning to work on the article. I have the sources, but I am not good with those and need a little help with them. EDUN

Sorry about my inactivity, I said I will help, but it was merely significant :(

I hope I can reserve enough time today to work on the article, I will do some hard copy editing and then possibly expand..... Thoughts? Oh and just an FYI you have a reply on ThEOrignalSonis talkpage! Prabash.Akmeemana 12:54, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

yeah, Prabash., I will love your help there in EDUN article. I read the message in Soni's page, I am shocked :'(.... And have a terrible headache, my migraine is getting worse today. I still don't understand Soni's decision. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 13:05, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
I suffer from migraines too, I left a checklist for the EDUN article on its talkpage, for a more descriptive reason as to why he left... Lets just say it had to do with this and other personal issues. But he won't be back soon :( Prabash.Akmeemana 13:12, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Prabash. how do you know he won't be back soon? And, I need help with that check list. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 13:17, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Some users chatted with him on the IRC yesterday.. I never got to him on time :( It may have to do with the dispute with WT101, (Now Blocked for three months) personally attacked Soni.. His own mentor. But that's not a primary factor for his leave, anyways I lost my mentor and I got a new one... Guess who it is!
Don't worry about the checklist, you're not going to do it on your own, I will work on some parts of it and I will also make the list slightly bigger over time, maybe theo, Cullen and some others would assist in it too. Prabash.Akmeemana 13:27, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Prabash., Cullen328 is your new mentor. I've spent a long time reading old comments and found yours at Cullen talk. Congrats. He is awesome and will help you a lot! Ms.Bono(zootalk) 13:32, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Lol thanks   , yeah he is an awesome person! He's an online ambassador too. Prabash.Akmeemana 13:37, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Prabash., Talking about that, what is an online ambassador. I have never understood that Ms.Bono(zootalk) 13:40, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
An online ambassador, is a user right.. Like Rollback and Reviewer but its not related to those in anyway, its given to users that are very experienced with Wikipedia and have some sort of teaching experience.. I'm not that aware of it but I think you should try reading WP:Ambassador Prabash.Akmeemana 13:49, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Prabash, I have agreed to discuss finishing up mentorship with you, given Soni's abrupt departure. I haven't agreed to be your mentor yet, as we have major issues to discuss. Please be aware that my mentorship of Miss Bono is my first priority when it comes to mentoring. It will always be my first priority as long as she thinks she needs my help. The online ambassador designation means that I am willing to assist and advise new editors who are editing Wikipedia in connection with a college class assignment. My experience is that most of these students do the very minimum needed to pass the class, and then lose interest. When they have questions, I do my best to answer them, as I do at the Teahouse. I did speak to a class at the University of San Francisco, my alma mater, but that was a couple of years ago. This is a complex issue, and I have said enough for now. Feel free to ask follow-up questions. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:51, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Done, reply rent via email.... Sorry miss bono for the misunderstanding, and apologies to Cullen aswell. Prabash.Akmeemana 12:20, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

EDUN Image

I have been spending hours looking for a proper image, and I found none good enough, and I'm not the best at the picture stuff, if you don't mind I have hired another editor to do my "work" but if this concerns you I will go back to where I was before and keep doing it, if you are fine with it. Numbermaniac, would be glad to help us with the image!

If only Soni were here....Prabash.Akmeemana 19:46, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, if Soni were here :'( I miss him so so so much. Prabash. I don't mind Numbermaniac helps us with the image, as long as he doesn't mind helping us ;). Hey, Prabash, btw. I am sure you can find a better free picture of Bono to change the one in his infobox. I like Bono even when he seems like if he just woke up with a hangover but, I'd prefer a better picture for the infobox. Apparently (according Theroadislong and Y2kcrazyjoker4) the one that reamins in the infobox is the best of all those at Commons, but I bet there is far better one out there. Can you find it? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 20:01, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
I've just changed the info box image to a cropped one from the U2 360 tour....any good? What do you think?Theroadislong (talk) 20:29, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Theroadislong, pretty cool. let's hope Y2kcrazyjoker4 doesn't revert it xO Ms.Bono(zootalk) 20:50, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Just a thought, whenever you are ready to list it as a GA, I can review it. Hang on... Actually, the reviewer has to be an uninvolved editor. :( -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 01:50, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Also, what kind of image do you want for the article? -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 01:54, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
I haven't done much with the article other than a fix to the Reflist, so I will do the GA review Numbermaniac, while you try to fetch a new company logo, once you find one ping me in and upload it. And update the article, Miss Bono and theroadislong will take care of the rest. Prabash.Akmeemana 02:39, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Wait... we dont have to change the logo, Numbermaniac, Prabash., thats the right one. I wanted a picture to describe this line in the article....Barneys may have devoted its Manhattan flagship's store windows to Edun's pre-fall collection (is one of the lines and having a picture illustrating it would be great) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 16:31, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Linking to my talk page doesn't count as a mention. Only my user page does :(. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 04:15, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Internet Access

I am curious. How is it that you have access to WP:en, but not to Google or, seemingly anything else on the internet. Sign me puzzled. Bielle (talk) 20:51, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

I saw your initial answer in your page history. (I was automatically notified of a response.) I guess then my second question is: if your job is so tight about access, why are you looking up things that have nothing to do with work on, apparently, work time? Most libraries have computers available which you can access in your own time and go almost anywhere on the net you want. Bielle (talk) 21:17, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Bielle, Things doesn't work like that here. There are not librarie with Internet, and I am new at work and don't have much work to do. My question now: Why are you so Interested in my Internet access? Miss Bono(zootalk) 21:21, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Miss Bono, I left a message on Bielle's talk page. I hope that is OK. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 21:41, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Good morning, Miss Bono,

I had a long hard work day yesterday and slept in a bit. I need to drive to today's customer. I am glad you are feeling better. The website redirects to Edun's website. Talk to you later. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:27, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Beaches

Ocean Beach, San Francisco, California is the largest and best known beach in the city. It is very wide and miles long. Baker Beach and China Beach, San Francisco are other possibilities. Thornton State Beach is south of the San Francisco city limits and is closed to the public due to landslide risks from the cliffs above. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:08, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Jim, what's the most private and low-profile beach of those you pointed? Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:14, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Also I wanted to know about a hotel where the band could stays while being in SF. Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:18, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Baker Beach isn't private, but is relatively secluded for a big city beach, so that meets your description. It is a nude beach. As for a hotel, what price range and style? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:18, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
The hotel? Mmmm, the price and range that big celebrities are willing to pay for a great service and privacy. Miss Bono [zootalk] 20:26, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
The Mark Hopkins Hotel and the Fairmont San Francisco are the two best known historic luxury hotels. There are trendier, modern luxury hotels but those two are famous and iconic. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:37, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Hey there!

Anybody with as much enthusiasm as you have can be a huge help to the Wikipedia! Thanks for the sweets. Often, people ask around about updating or completing certain musicians' articles, but don't find as much interest from others... You certainly seem to want to persevere with Bono, and although I have been kind of stretched thin, it's the least I can do. FYI-- I just left a hospital for the first time A.M.A. ever, and your note to me was the first thing I saw, so I'll see what I can do with that, but then, back to a humane hospital, so I hope to get a little work in before leaving again. :) --Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:46, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Happy Friday

Good morning, Miss Bono. No, of course not. Why would I be? I hope that you had a great day off. Yesterday, I worked in a rural area called Lake of the Pines that I rarely get to visit. It is in an area beloved by my best friend, so I like it too. She calls it "home" though she lives a couple hundred miles south of there.

Those computer problems I mentioned have returned. Nasty little malware buried deep in the file structure. We had a new hard drive installed in the computer I usually use, and thought the problems were solved. Somehow the malware migrated to the new drive on some old file. So two of our computers are again out of service having intense reworking by the experts. So I need to do my business work on my wife's laptop, which I don't like.

My wife and I will go to Hawaii at the end of September with our younger son. We will fly to Honolulu and then take a cruise ship, visiting four islands in all. So that will be fun. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 14:21, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

That will be awesome (about the trip!). And as for your PC problems, what antivirus do you have installed in your PC. It might be good to format the hard drive and it is important to have up-to-date antivirus protection. Recently I got the same virus in 212 different files in my laptop, luckily I fixed the problem in 24 h.
I am really sick and now I am on my way to see a doctor and check out my problem. Talk to you later.
PS: I had a good day yesterday and took some pictures. I will see when I have the time to upload 'em here.
Wish me some luck! I hope I am not dying :P

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Tom Davies (author)

Hi Miss Bono, I've just declined Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Tom Davies (author) which apparently is about the author of a book that Bono described as "the one book which changed and saved his life". Thanks for the U2 project invitation!

Thanks very much for the invitation Miss Bono but I have a concern about joining and hopefully asking won't activate your Bono fury.

How often would I have to contribute to U2 articles in order to stay in the project? Because I mostly focus on Stereophonics articles (and will continue to), despite U2 being my favourite band. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ultra Violet Light (talkcontribs) 19:41, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

P.S. One thing is Stereophonics are not "The Stereophonics", you may find this on a few articles. Ultra Violet Light (talk) 20:15, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Buenos!

Hola, Chica!

Anyway, to be fair to other people I don't think the en.Wikipedia is the place for me to be chatting in Spanish. Also, my languages are limited, as you can see. So, when I call you loco or different in some way, don't take it as an insult! Just American slang. I do think though, that you need to put your talent more to the work on the Wikipedia- you have friends here, they will help you! Besitos, --Leahtwosaints (talk) 02:03, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Tutoring

I fear since you can not go to other websites to find photos, and can't upload them to Commons, I'd be unable to teach you some of my sources for photos. Instead, from my own experience, let me invite you:

Try volunteering on articles that others just start and leave behind. It will improve the Wikipedia, and teach you skills that you can apply to Bono, and other U2 articles. Some of the stubs need wikification. Some need a photo you might find in the de.Wikipedia, or the others, and an infobox. Some don't have a reference section, with all the references in External links, or the talk page. I say, work on similar articles, not just U2 ones (unless any of their related articles are that bad). If you do it, you'll become able to do far more, meet other great editors who can teach you what you need to know or help you. This way, your time will not be tied up in the talk pages and instead, will help build articles of excellence! If you want any suggestions for articles needing help, click the little banner above! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 02:29, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

User design center

It isn't all its cracked up to be. Many of the better codes and ideas can be found by looking through editor user pages at random, or go to some of the art and graphic projects and look through the editor user pages from those members. The best stuff is copied from others that have yet to be mentioned at the design center.--Mark 20:14, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, Mark. I'll give it a try. Which project do you recommend? Miss Bono [zootalk] 20:19, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
The best one is probably Wikipedia:Graphics Lab. But any of the art projects would probably be good.--Mark 20:29, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

WikiCup 2013 August newsletter

This year's final is upon us. Our final eight, in order of last round's score, are:

  1.   Hawkeye7 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer who has contributed on topics of military history and physics, including a number of high-importance topics. Good articles have made up the bulk of his points, but he has also scored a great deal of bonus points. He has the second highest score overall so far, with more than 3000 points accumulated.
  2.   Casliber (submissions), another WikiCup veteran who reached the finals in 2012, 2011 and 2010. He writes on a variety of topics including botany, mycology and astronomy, and has claimed the highest or joint highest number of featured articles every round so far this year. He has the third highest score overall, with just under 3000 points accumulated.
  3.   Cwmhiraeth (submissions), 2012 WikiCup champion, who writes mostly on marine biology. She has also contributed to high-importance topics, seeing huge numbers of bonus points for high-importance featured and good articles. Previous rounds have seen her scoring the most bonus points, with scoring spread across did you knows, good articles and featured articles.
  4.   Sasata (submissions), a WikiCup veteran who finished in second place in 2012, and competed as early as 2009. He writes articles on biology, especially mycology, and has scored highly for a number of collaborations at featured article candidates.
  5.   Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), the winner of the 2010 competition. His contributions mostly concern Naval history, and he has scored a very large number of points for good articles and good article reviews in every round. He is the highest scorer overall this year, with over 3500 points in total.
  6.   Ealdgyth (submissions), who is competing in the WikiCup for the second time, though this will be her first time in the final. A regular at FAC, she is mostly interested in British medieval history, and has scored very highly for some top-importance featured articles on the topic.
  7.   Miyagawa (submissions), a finalist in 2012 and 2011. He writes on a broad variety of topics, with many of this year's points coming from good articles about Star Trek. Good articles make up the bulk of his points, and he had the most good articles back in round 2; he was also the highest scorer for DYK in rounds 1 and 2.
  8.   Adam Cuerden (submissions) has previously been involved with the WikiCup, but hasn't participated for a number of years. He scores mostly from restoration work leading to featured picture credits, but has also done some article writing and reviewing.

We say goodbye to eight great participants who did not qualify for the final:   Piotrus (submissions),   Figureskatingfan (submissions),   ThaddeusB (submissions),   Dana boomer (submissions),   Status (submissions),   Ed! (submissions),   12george1 (submissions),   Calvin999 (submissions). Having made it to this stage is still an excellent achievement, and you can leave with your heads held high. We hope to see you all again next year. Signups are now open for the 2014 WikiCup, which will begin on 1 January. All Wikipedians, whatever their interest or level of experience, are warmly invited to participate in next year's competition.

This last month has seen some incredible contributions; for instance, Cwmhiraeth's Starfish and Ealdgyth's Battle of Hastings—two highly important, highly viewed pages—made it to featured article status. It would be all too easy to focus solely on these stunning achievements at the expense of those participants working in lower-scoring areas, when in fact all WikiCup participants are doing excellent work. A mention of everything done is impossible, but here are a few: Last round saw the completion of several good topics (on the 1958, 1959 and 1962 Atlantic hurricane seasons) to which 12george1 had contributed. Calvin999 saw "S&M" (song), on which he has been working for several years, through to featured article status on its tenth try. Figureskatingfan continued towards her goal of a broad featured/good topic on Maya Angelou, with two featured and four good articles. ThaddeusB contributed significantly to over 20 articles which appeared on the main page's "in the news" section. Adam Cuerden continued to restore a large number of historical images, resulting in over a dozen FP credits this round alone. The WikiCup is not just about top-importance featured articles, and the work of all of these users is worthy of commendation.

Finally, the usual notices: If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to reduce the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
