Cupcake

Cupcakes are never small 1-2 inch cakes but Fairy Cakes can be. in fact were when I was a child and cup cakes were often known as Patty Cakes before American popular terms became popular from the 1980's onwards. I sometimes feel that Wikipedia ignores certain things like this and erases it from "Wiki History" I quoted the British Food Trust which you deleted. Hide-and-seek

Why did you undo my edit to the caption on the image in this article? The image does not show children playing; this is patently not true. The image shows an oil painting from the 1800s. Hi There. I edited the Sam Houser Nationality because Sam is British born to British parents and raised in Britain. Someone tried to add/make out that Sam was 'somewhat American' by adding he was 'Born in Britain but now American'. Just because someone works in America or moves to America doesn't make them American does it? Re: Star Trek

I'm very dissapointed you dleeted my reference. I have a reputation of being accurate with my information on Wikipedia, and tend to be disspasionate. I am in the process of linking fictional Sikh charachters, and your deletion is confusing links I have created. Just because you are a Sikh, it does not mean you are an Indian. The two do not go hand in hand. You can be Sikh and Afgani, You can be Sikh and Pakistani, you can be Sikh and American. In anycase watch the episode he stars in first. I don't like doing google referencing but in this case I cannot find references to him being Indian, just Northen Indian and being a Sikh. See here, and here here page 23 "With all due respect to my heroic Sikh ancestors....." onwards Khan himself talks about him being a Sikh? I don't want to take this to [WP:Mediation] as you will reinstate my refernced section. I have plently of otherreferences including the clip of his first appearance in Star Trek to back up what I am saying. By all means add North Indian Sikh, but pleas be accurate in his description. Fixing reflinks

You are most welcome. =) It's gotten to the point where everytime I add a link into the article, I cross my fingers and go "I hope the McGeddon editor comes, I hope the McGeddon editor comes, I hope the McGeddon editor comes" and then when I see that you've adjusted all the links, you have no idea how pleased I am. Because if links don't look the way you've put them in, I believe it runs the risk of becoming a dead link and the information later becoming unfounded. thanks for your good faith suggestions.
In sicilian language we have a saying:

"Acqua, cunsigghi e sali sinza dummannati nun ni dari"

which loosely translated sounds like

"Water, suggestions and salt, if noone asks you for them, don't give them away".

As well Ancient Romans used to say:

"Melius est abundare quam deficere"

which loosely translated stands for:

"It's better to give more than to give less".

So as for what is written "redundantly" in my edit summaries your suggestions are welcome especially for my "typing saving" (I don't really mind though because I have a speed of almost 100 wpm).
Please note that there is a vast majority of other wiki-editors that don't even bother in filling this so called "edit summary" so I would kindly suggest you to focus your attention on them rather than on me.
Not to mention that this is not the first time that I feel like you are wikihounding me.
Please feel free to have a nice weekend... because on next Monday morning we will not be able to "undo and/or edit them".

There is no law on the statute books that prohibits The Village of Stilton from making or marketing their traditional and new cheeses under "Stilton Village Cheese". Therefore there is no reference or citation available. Yes they can make Blue Veined Cheese.

The two applications with DEFRA that protect the "Stilton Cheese" mark are dubious, irregular and unlawful.

The Stilton Cheese Makers Association - is based in Surrey - OUTSIDE of the Zone and/or Stilton. The Inspectorate is based in Sussex. No part of the applications makes either party qualified by being a "Vested Interest". Under regulatory law, neither party is qualified to hold or sustain the protection order. Certainly no comment is included in the application to qualify either party.

The trade mark registration for "Stilton Cheese" does not exclude "Stilton Village Cheese" from being a separate mark.

"Stilton Village Cheese" is protected by localization regulations that prevent none vested persons or entities from claiming it. Likewise for "Stilton Village"

I have family connections via diary and trade journals that put Mrs. Frances Pewlett (Cheese maker) in Wymondham in her earlier years, being advised by the Daniels family to move her business to The Great Royal Route (Great North Road south of Peterborough). The Yaxlee/Yexlee/Yaxley branch of the family brought Blue Cheese from Mrs. Frances Paulett at here home in Stilton. The Yaxlee's had a shop and eatery in Yaxley.

Page move request

Hey there McGeddon, Could you move the Mabel Simmons page to Madea per WP:COMMONNAME. The character is widely known as Madea, not Mabel Simmons. Most of the scholarly sources about the character speak of her as Madea, not Mabel Simmons and I've even found a source that states flat out that this character is better knwon as Madea which I've stuck in the article while its under Mabel Simmons. I tried moving the pages but of course since I don't have an account that is also established, I had to take an alternate route. But when I did, I was told this on my user talk page:

Although moving "Mabel Simmons" to "Madea" is acceptable, your method is a problem. A "cut and paste move" causes problems because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Please revert your cut and paste moves and follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Cresix

The move has been undone due to the contribution history being lost due to the cut/paste of content. Moving page content with just a cut/paste is a violation of the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License under which Wikipedia operates, as it makes the true contribution history invisible. --- Barek

After Barek undoing my page move, I provided a scholarly source as to the character being better known as Madea, so there's at least credibility to my claims despite the fact that I think it's pretty much common knowlege due to the popularity of the character as Madea. I'm not a great fan of the editorial we and generally try to avoid it myself, but sometimes write it without thinking. But I was not using it as a deliberate reminder of me reverting your WP:TALKO strikeout of another editor's editorial we from back in November, if this is your concern. I should have noted that I made a post on the talk page - I think that the section on "Views of the Public" is misleading, because it presents the results of quiz-like polls as reflecting "beliefs", when even the titles of the articles referred to state they are about "knowledge". As such, I really don't think it has any bearing on the subject - I am certain there are a number of scientific issues about which, if you asked the average person, they might have a 1/5 chance of giving you the wrong answer. But I am almost certain that if these people were told what the correct answer was, many many fewer would stick to the idea that the sun revolves around the earth. The "King Body" to "Kibo" evolution is definitely true. I was there. The phrasing to which you changed my edit is unnecessarily wishy-washy when people of good reputation can confirm it. Several people on the Connect conferencing system shortened their pseudonyms when a new feature allowing dynamic blurbs after names was constrained by the total length of name plus blurb. I was one of them, and Kibo was too. If you are really that put off by this statement of fact, at least make it stronger by accepting that it was "most likely" to be so. I realise that the purpose of Wikipedia is not a collection of links, it's about storing well kept, informed and reliable information. If you take the time to read the articles in question you will see that they are very relevant to the page, and are infact well thought out and intelligent pieces. The articles doesn't encourage anyone to bet and are simply describing the methodology behind the Gambler's Fallacy, Poisson Distribution and Arbitrage, which I think people may be interested in reading for a further analytical look at the subjects. QR CODES removal of Link

Dear McGedden, Firstly the format of this page is somewhat confusing. The message I received asked me to leave a message in this section if I disagreed with your action to remove the link, yet there is absolutely no real guidelines regarding how to do this. Hardly a remedy. Anyway, yes I disagree with your action as without a true understanding of the evolution of QR codes it is a mute point to regard the link as inappropriate. The links both are samples that display Qrtists that are contributing to the evolution of the standard code. Where it is heading will in the future be attributed to artists such as these and does not serve the reader well without the information. I did expect some editing but not the blatant disregard of removing this without a question, this under minds the writers research. I suggest you replace the link or at the very least move to another section, however this is absolutely essential to the full evolution of the QR code.

Re your edit to Construction, "article seems to use US spelling" is not a good rationale for a rvt, especially if you (wrongly) think that "organization" is a US and not British spelling - in fact it is the most common British English spelling also - see Oxford spelling. However this article does indeed use US spelling as far as I can see, as this version from 2004 shows. You need to check the oldest edits, and the talk page to see if the matter has been discussed. Musical form of limerick poetry

Thanks for tidying up my contribution. I don't think can add any more, apart from more links to the 6/8 music. There's a lot out there, but not under my control. Not quite sure what you mean re Kit e Kat. Adding a reference should not be viewed as self promotion. It is a legitimate reference to a book which contains a great deal of information about Kit Kat - thereby being a useful source of info. Certainly more bona fide than some of the stuff written about confectionery on Wikipedia, much of it received wisdom doomed to be recycled or stuff from he manufacture's PR department - none it remotely academic. Whilst I don't agree with your reasoning, I am happy to add my "reference" to Further Reading rather than References. It is not really self-promotion to add an worthy but out-of-print book as further reading for those interested in the subjects. Certainly less self promotional than some of the press references which are basically just PR releases given spurious credibility by being recycled in the mainstream press. Well I might dabble in such edits, if I had more time. To be honest, I don't give tuppence whether my books are mentioned or not. It is of no advantage whatsoever to me, commercial or egotistical. I merely thought I was helping but clearly have transgressed Wiki's arcane guidelines, often inconsistent from what I can see. And to be honest, I do believe that people may have used my book without true attribution, there are one or two things mentioned that are so obscure that it would be rather a coincidence if they hadn't been read first in my book. Hi Mcgeddon, further to your action of turning down suggested lead sentence on the article "Marketing" on the basis of incorrect information is not enough information. Please let me know what was not correct in that sentence? I have started a talk on article as well and pasting here as well with my reasons.

Both these external links provide much relevant, accurate, content that is not suitable for inclusion in the main body of the article as it is far more detailed than the normal wikipedia page should be.

Thanks for the source of the Rézfaszú Bagoly. I didn't know that there is any monography or something about the Owl. I'm Hungarian, so it's a part of the folklore I live in, but I still didn't find any source of the Rézfaszú :-D But I realised that the names of the distinct creatures lacks the pronunciations with IPA. I think you couldn't delete the Rézfaszú's pronounciation what's more there should be given to the other beings too, cause the written words have no information about the real names of the monsters. Have you read WP:GNL?? It says:

"Use gender-neutral language where this can be done with clarity and precision."

It makes no reference to chess as a situation this does not apply to. However, it appears that there's more consensus to say:

Hi, I think your change of "their" to "his" in the lede is an improvement. The reason I didn't change it myself, is because I felt some slack could be allowed in the lede, especially to satisfy those editors interested in gender-neutral, as long as the body text clarified it and was definitive. (But "making compromises" re clarity in the lede - what I was willing to do - is probably not a good direction for encyclopedic article, so I think your idea is better. Computer trespass law

regarding your revert to my edit in the "WarGames" article, could you please provide reference about the fact that the law wasn't operative before 1984?
And anyway wp:egg or not don't you think that a link to the Computer trespass article deserves to be mentioned in the See Also section of the "WarGames" article?
Because I remember pretty well the movie we are talking about wasn't forbidden to minors: nor in U.S. nor in Italy where I watched it.
It will be appreciated if you could provide reference about the fact that this law wasn't operative before 1984: how come that this is not mentioned in the Computer trespass article?
Last but not least if you are so keen in "double checking" my contributions ... could you please attempt to make a small effort in noticing also the "good things" that I do? I am not pretending a "barn star"... but IMHO I don't think that ongoing negative critics towards me could help in building a constructive relationship: actually I find it quite irritating. Thanks.

I wrote to wp:ArbCom complaining about that block and I am taking a rain check in order to take it to wp:ani ASAP. If you go through my talk pages you can notice yourself that an admin has been much more abusive and insulting than what allegedly I have been. Someone could think wp:npa apply mainly to users and not to sysops. What I find really upsetting is that I am generally noticing that "the comment on the content and not the contributor" seems to focus mainly in "commenting negatively" on the contents and seldom "commenting constructively". Someone makes 10.000 constructive edits and then sc**ws up a couple and there you go you have dozens of users and admins coming out of the blue publicly scolding you without even attempting to write you a private internal mail. The who and what in question, really is "reptillians", which Mr. Icke has indeed described as inter-dimensional in nature. He's openly accused Zecharia Sitchin of being a "reptillian" himself, as seen in In David Icke's own 1999 documentary "Revelations of a Mother Goddess. You can't make this stuff up.

I'm a firm believer of "calling a cat a cat" as the saying goes. The edit was valid, though "inter-dimensional space lizards" probably is not the term Mr. Icke himself would use.

As that blog is dated this month, and its a new promotion, I wouldnt expect to see anything at all until mid-June. But its unlikely to be worthy of inclusion anyway. Well I uploaded the images following the link on the left hand side and I also emailed the relevant permission/copyright waiver (from the subject of the photo who also has the copyright) to permissions department at Wkipedia. To be honest. I find teh whole image uploading business quite baffling. I understand the copyright situation well enough, but it's unclear who the permission shoudl be sent to and is this done simultaneous to the uploading teh the image. Clear as mud unfortunately. Acknowledged source. A couple of things you may be able to help with. First, do you know anything abouit Google Knowledge Graphs? It is still coming up with wrong info - i.e a extract and link to the original K.H (disc jockey) Wiki page and not the text from the present K.H page. I've reported it but as yet no response . Secondly, my Evelyn Berckman page - she is something of an enigma and sources hard to find, but she is deomstrably worthy of inclusion jow can I overcome the hurdle of scarce citations? All her books are out of print and I'm not eveb sure who her publishers are. It's a challenge, but I am determined to honour her memory with a well overdue Wiki article. Any suggestion? The point that I was making is that the link to Lipton's own site is a commercial link, this could be construed as advertising. I would assume therefore that it must be acceptable to link to reviews, for example on Amazon, on specific products being sold on the Lipton site. Either that, or remove the link to Lipton's site on the basis that its purpose is to sell products rather than provide information.

I quote from the start of guidance on use of lead images (WP:LEADIMAGE): 'It is very common to use an appropriate representative image for the lead to an article'. WP is full of bullies claiming that guidance is a 'rule'. In this case, there is a description of common practice that is far from being mandatory and is often varied. It therefore seems that your insistence on making changes to The Fox and the Grapes is a case of POV, at the very least. Please explain why you, as an ordinary editor like the rest of us, take it upon yourself to make these changes when you could be spending the time creatively instead. This is not Nerf/Hasbro's marketing rather its terminology that most people in the dart blaster community uses to convey that dart blasters are not dangerous and that these can be continued to be created without incident. this applies to dart, disc and water blasters. it may to the reader to have water 'gun' be clearer but its more appropriate to not associate these toys with firearms. these are not legally categorized as firearms/guns unlike airsoft or paintball.

another thing that i want to note is that these Nerf related articles were created by fans in the community not by outsiders. these were more for the hobby than the company that's why the lists of products are here. since wikipedia allowed these articles when they were created, its probably best to allow the community rather than outsiders to watch over the article.Nerfmaster8 (talk) 16:25, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

His school was previously listed as St. Bernard's Catholic Grammar School and as I mentioned in the 'reason for editing' notes, this school was an all-girls school until 1989. I know this because I attended the school at this time. My brothers attended Burnham Grammar school and to my knowledge Jimmy Carr was there at this time. It concerns me that you have changed his school now to Farnham Common School and deleted Burnham Grammar School altogether. Farnham Common School appears to be an infant/junior school and it is possible he attended here but only until the age of 12. To my knowledge he attended Burnham Grammar School and this is also cited on Burnham Grammar's own Wiki page. I trust that you will look into this matter and correct accordingly. I have no further interest in editing on Wikipedia. I just happened to notice the mistake and thought I would correct. I confirm my point of view. I have seen the issue with the french distributor (Buki France). He admits that the quality of the steel is not so good than before and told me he has discontinued importation, selling only the Slinkies he has in stock.

Max Scott falsely accused of being mistaken

Look man, this website is not all that reliable anyways because, well, it's edited by a bunch of freaking teenagers. Warwick Davis did not play Yoda walking. It was CGI. I went through and watched Star Wars the phantom menace at home (I have it on DVD and VHS) twice, and I have come to the conclusion that it is obvious CGI. Look, that CGI in that movie was not the best, and it seems pretty obvious that it was CGI.Besides, the Yoda in the phantom menace was not the right body shape or height to be Warwick Davis, and the way he walked was not the same. Also, other sites have other stories than what you have told. I understand that you have most likely come to that conclusion yourself, and I do that all of the time. But I have Aspergers, and a symptom of that is that I am very analytical. Request for administrator assistance

I've recently opened an AfD on an article whose previous version (as well as that of a related article) were deleted due to some highly problematic sources, the article subjects posting inaccurate press releases which were taken at face value by Nigerian tech blogs and then quoted as fact in Wikipedia (with the press releases being, as I remember it, later rescinded en masse by the PR company). The articles fell to an uncontested PROD in April, but this means all discussion was lost. Would it be possible to restore Talk:LAGbook somewhere? --McGeddon (talk) 11:59, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Dear McGeddon,

I saw that you marked me as a spammer, and going through my history, I can see why you would think that. I am 53 year old neighbor of the guy who writes the Gentleman's Gazette and he knows his stuff. I am independant reader of anything related to classic men's clothing. Initially, I saw a lot of links by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Peter_Marshall to his own website www.blacktieguide.com and thought they were useful. The articles about menswear always said that you needed more citations so I added links to one of my favorite blog. Mr. Schneider also created a fine page about morning dress that I linked to but it seems my efforts are not appreciated here.

Florence Green

I didn't replace the same tag - I changed from speedy deletion to prod. Your argument about a king is fairly specious, because a dead monarch usually has more notability than just being old. With Florence Green, the main claim is that she was the last surviving participant of WWI. That is actually uncited anyway, but doesn't in itself mean much. She did nothing else notable in her 110 years and 353 days. OK, she was a supercentenarian, but that shouldn't deserve more than one line in a list of same. Borġ in-Nadur apparitions

Hi,

I am a Maltese guy who happens to live 2 kms away from the apparitions. The Church did not officially dismiss the case as a sort of hoax. It just keeps silent about it without affirming but neither denying it. The newspaper article from 2007 to which you refer that ' the Archbishop of Malta has officially dismissed the case' was a one off situation in which the Archbishop had to counter the rising mass hysteria about the apparitions. Thankyou for your contribution to the article. That seems more like it. I was the one who started the article and the photos are my own but then it got updated several times by different people. The current version seems quite fair. The stream of water has not yet appeared but if it happens, I will surely be the first to notice and take a photo of it. Both Fr Hayden and Fr. Gouder are official Church representatives. Fr. Hayden, a Franciscan was perhaps a bit too subjective about the apparitions and more keen to stick to what Angelic said. Fr. Gouder is a diocesan priest and commissioned to take over from Hayden as he is known for his objectivity and clear investigation. Time is passing by and the case keeps on happening. I've split the article between Angelic Caruana that covers aspects pertaining to him directly and Borġ in-Nadur apparitions regarding the site specifically. Help with continual flags

Hi I am just trying to get some clarity on 2 flags a page I was editing keeps getting. One is for not have a neutral view, I have read this up and down and all it states are facts, as in the date the event took place, the location and the artists who performed. The other is for main contributor having a special interest in it. I am not sure where they info came from or how to clear it up. Can you help? We have been trying to get this page up for years and it is continually flagged and or removed no matter what someone does. Thank you!

Crowd Valley notability

Hi McGeddon, I am with Crowd Valley. I was reading WP:COMPANY to understand what we need. It's entirely possible we don't qualify (yet), and I'm OK with that, but the guidelines did seem a little vague. So we have an interview in Italian Wired. "A single independent source is almost never sufficient for demonstrating the notability of an organization." I gather you don't give small blogs much weight, and while I agree with that in principle, in practice where do you draw the line? I've seen similar organizations (e.g. InvestedIn) with little more than a single non-blog mention (the article gives all of 4 lines to InvestedIn).
