I've reviewed the article and left notes on the talk page. I've put the nomination on hold for seven days to allow the issues to be addressed. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, here, or on the article talk page with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. Thanks to the contributions of our many members and supporters, WP:YORKS has become a leading local British WikiProject in terms of the total number of articles supported (up from 8,621 last month to 8,665 on November 29th). In the area of GAs WP:YORKS at 62 is just ahead of WP:GM who have 60. WP:GM also has the lead in FAs at 49 out of a total number of 2,292 articles.
Currently we have twenty four Yorkshire featured articles:
The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.
To bring all other top priority articles (currently 15 with 2 at FA) to at least Good article status
To set up a weekly or monthly selected article improvement drive (See this month's feature below)
To produce a regular news letter for circulation to members
and apropos of the above a 2010 New Year article improvement drive/collaboration is being organised.
Happy Christmas
Wishing all project members a Happy Christmas and thanks for all the work you have put in to the project over the last year. We have made great strides forward especially in the area of Good Articles
and this month we have a bumper set of seven articles trying for GA status. Some passed the review while others did not, but even a try moves an article forward. Thanks to ll those involved in these articles and keep up the good work.
Cleanup listing
Some members will know that we were subscribed to the clean-up listing that was produced on an occasional basis by a BOT. The BOT owner has left and has not released the source of the BOT for someone to pick-up. The last run of this BOT was in March of this year. Others have stepped in and produced a new tool that runs on the tool server to provide projects with similar information.
The clean-up listing gives details of all of the articles with the project's banner that have clean-up tags attached to them. The listing is in alphabetical order but can be sorted on class, importance or the number of different tags found in an article. If you want the listing grouped by the different tags then the tag grouped listing should be used.
According to the tool run dated 28 November of the 8,729 articles in this project 2,725 or 31.2% are marked for clean-up, though I am unsure how it gets the article count figure as that does not appear to match the counts from the assessment table.
WikiProject Yorkshire Collaboration of the Month Project
The December 2010 articles selected below are the editors choice as no one came up with any other suggestions on the project talk page.
The project is subscribed to a clean-up listing which lists articles tagged with various clean-up tags that need attention. The listing is refreshed by a bot on a regular basis.
Monitoring is essential Use the watchlist to keep an eye on changes to the project's articles so that vandalism and spamming can be removed as quickly as possible.
Moves Please be careful when performing articles moves and ensure that you also move all the talk sub-pages and update any image fair use rational. Otherwise the archives, to-do lists, assessment comments and GA reviews get lost and the image may be deleted as it has an incorrect FUR.

Hi, there! I'm curious why you removed Gwen Grant from the "Notable People from Worksop" list? She's a popular (and prolific) writer, from Worksop, where she continues to live and work. I've added a page for her.
In the interests of full disclosure, I should add that she's my Mom!

Hi, my name is Alex and I have a pop band called Barker.
Apparently the Barker page is a disambiguation page, so I created a similar page as Barker_(disambiguation) and then created in Barker a page for my band.
You change it back to the way it was.
Then I had the idea to create it as Barker_(band) but you deleted it.
And as soon as I created a page for myself Alex_Motta, you deleted it too.
I want the wikipedia pages to offer people a way to know more about us, but you keep deleting the pages I create! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Youremyonlyhope (talk • contribs) 23:15, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

You just deleted Felice News. The article was almost completely different & material that was not verifiable was accordingly deleted. The AfD that you cited in the deletion is further evidence that the article was deleted merely because of incorrect information, not notability. I strongly suggest you re-think your recent deletion.
The article may have some of the same text, although I deleted all of the text without valid references & added numerous external links for further verification of information. Please review the issues with the first article in detail & compare them to the slightly changed text of the second article. Key words like 'claim' have been added. All text without verifiable references has been deleted. I do not see what the problem is. Please tell me what, specifically, is wrong with the second article. It seems like a perfectly verifiable article to me. If the second article is not satisfactory, I invite you ti create your own article on the subject. I represent the actual website & can verify any & all of the information listed in the article. --VivereInNY (talk) 01:47, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
We've got lots of 'external coverage'. Why don't you just google Felice News.
Also- If websites with less visitors than Felice, such as HappyNews.com, have wikipedias, dosent Felice deserve one, as well?
Do you have any suggestions for creating a new article?
Do you think that we have enough 'Notoriety' now?

I'm wondering if you can help me?
I suspect that Blairtummock is being a bit of nuisance. Blairtummock recently has re-instated information about demolished town ports back into the landmarks section. At the end of the first paragraph, is the one and only reference and i seriously don't believe, unless i'm mistaken, mention anything relating to the content. I also believe that this information does not belongs in the section (it would be better in the history section), but if i am seen deleting this info again, Blairtummock will just put it back in. As an editor on the Mark Pincus page, would you mind weighing in on an issue I have raised on the page's discussion? I believe a recent edit was made without citing a reliable source. Since you have made edits on the page prior, I respect your opinion and would appreciate your insight. Thanks. NinaSpezz (talk) 17:21, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I edited the entry about me on Wikipedia because the previous entry was incomplete and inaccurate. All of the information that I included in the edit is accurate and verifiable. I have no problem with future additions from other readers, but request that my edit be restored. In the absence of that, please remove the entry about me from Wikipedia Thank you. Article Alerts
After nearly a year without the Article Alerts listing after the previous BOT operator departed a new BOT has been developed to give similar functionality. This was trialled on a few projects over the New Year period and has now been rolled out as a replacement for the original BOT. Just to remind members the listing gives changes to the status of articles tagged with the project template. It includes details such as good article candidate, articles up for deletion etc. the full list of workflows covered by the BOT can be seen here.
The BOT runs daily and updates the project listing at Wikipedia:WikiProject Yorkshire/Article alerts. The BOT edit summary indicates the extent of the change so if the listing is watchlisted you can quickly tell if there is anything that may be of interest. If there are things that the BOT does not pick-up then do report them here so that they can be fixed. If you think an article should be covered by the project then add the project template {{WikiProject Yorkshire}} to the talk page of the article.

Hi JeremyA
Can I please ask you why you have removed the links I added as 'unnessary external links'?
The links were to relavant, unique content so I thought it was okay. I did one ages ago and it appeared to be acceptable (last August) but you have now deemed it unacceptable too and the few I did last night.
How unique does the content need to be before you will allow a link?
So, in this context I am not sure how my link was deemed unneccessary. It's equally as good and useful as the best links. Is it that I added several links, without contributing content which irked you?
Apologies for taking up your time, I just want to understand so I can contribute better.

Hi Jeremy, it's been some years since I last contacted you but I've followed a person onto WP and thought it appropriate to warn you.
GeorgeGriffiths has and still does participate to Wikimapia. His behaviour has been for the least disruptive, disrespectful, uncoordinated, unreferenced, unverified and otherwise poor. He has been banned and is now on WM hit list of contributors to immediately ban as his behaviour has led the admins to no longer welcome him. GeorgeGriffiths has done his best, for such a young person, to circumvent the tens of bans by creating sockpuppets or contributing anonymously. Should you request it, I can send you links to all the threads on WM fora with discussions about his behaviour. All the best Jez. Captain Scarletand the Mysterons20:46, 20 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
On the first three pages of "user behaviour" are three threads about George alone, I could dig out more if you require:
Ah, what have I stumbled upon here. I do not appreciate you talking about me behind my back. I would like to let you know that I am, in fact, a different person from Tpxpress. Tpxpress is my good friend who lives only a few roads away from me, which is why our edits are similar (we both actively edit about our local area, and we both love trains, too). I refuse to comment about Wikimapia. GeorgeGriffiths (talk) 21:46, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
CONT. FROM LAST POST Yeah, it's unethical. How? WELL HOW COME BOTH ARE ON AT THE SAME TIME, EDITING AT THE SAME TIME UNDER DIFFERENT I.Ps? Uh? Well? I'll leve you to have a think Tpxpress (talk) 12:34, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have now been accused of being a sockpuppet of GeorgeGriffiths by Captain scarlet. We have never used the same IP, our contributions are barely similar and we haven't edited the same pages. I don't understand what connection I have with GeorgeGriffiths, I don't know him and I never contacted him until I was accused. I don't even know why I was accused. Stop flamin' wastin' your time you people! George888 isn't me. Tpxpress isn't me. And I use many IPs BECAUSE I HAVE MANY COMPUTERS: 1) my laptop 2) dads laptop 3) mums laptop 4) nans computer GeorgeGriffiths (talk) 12:20, 24 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Anyway, there are lots of George's in the world, so stop accusing every single one of them. And anyway, what is it that you've got against me? What have I ever done to you? Hmmm? HMMM? GeorgeGriffiths (talk) 12:19, 24 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Each of your home computers have the same public IP. Your IP today is 86.176.136.159 for instance. I made no reference to your sock-puppet accounts in my comment of the 23 April, I mentioned you logging out to make controversial and arguable contributions, a practice you used on Wikimapia and that I've warned you about on multiple occasions, today being the last time I have. When replying to comments, please have the decency to do so politely. Jeremy and I are a little older than you and we've learnt that shouting isn't the best approach, that includes Wikipedia. Hi Jeremy, no doubt it hasn't fooled you but you'll notive there is an unsigned vote on Robin Brook AfD. The IP, 91.107.205.247 I have already on my radar, it is GeorgeGriffiths' IP I have on file at Wikimapia. His whois shows: that he is the person that was banned, I can get you a list of IPs George and his sockpuppet accounts have used at any time (and you may cross-reference them with your WP tools). Great Backlog Drive
Most of you should have spotted the advertisement for the Great Backlog Drive that is under way at the moment. This is an initiative to reduce the number of tags that are attached to articles by attempting to fix as many of these as possible. Of cause some tags are more of a problem to fix than others but the purpose of the drive is to cut down the overall number of articles that have identified problems in them, rather than concentrate on specific problems. It would be good if project members got involved in this and fixed tags that they come across in their editing. It would also be helpful to avoid tagging new problems by fixing them when you spot the problem, though if you cannot fix it then tag for someone else to look at.
The project clean up listing gives a list of the more common tags attached to the project's articles, of which 32.1 % are marked for clean up, and can be found -

For God's sake, why did you delete it? I clearly stated that it was a Work In Progress and it was under construction. Now you deleted it FOR NO GOOD REASON, and I lost all my progress. Thanks a lot.
I seriously think you have something against me. Every page I create, you delete. And they're all good pages. What have I ever done to you? So, stop it. Seriously. It's childish. This Stops NOW. Got that? GeorgeGriffiths (talk) 19:07, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Indeed I was thinking along the lines of Rebuilding of Sheffield in the 1950s and yes, I'd have included the current contents of the brutalist article and put into a social housing section within the twenty-year long rebuilding scheme of the Corporation which includes transport, the city centre, woodlands, energy.. I'll look at a stub over the weekend. Captain Scarletand the Mysterons18:35, 19 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I left a comment on the Dusable talk page and am wondering if you have anymore sourced info about Dusable's wife? Basically, my concern is that she is being left out of history, similar to the way he was for so long. If he's 'founder,' isn't she also? Thanks. Hi, Jeremy.
I'm fairly new to editing on Wiki. Apparently I violated a guideline. I wasn't aware of the rules, so here's where I say "I'm sorry."
Thanks for pointing it out to me. What can I do?
Nutshell:
Rahm Emanuel's page says his father was a member of the Irgun, listed as "a Jewish paramilitary organization."
But Wiki's own listing for Irgun says "Irgun was legally classified as a terrorist organization by the State of Israel in 1948." And it has a link to a book on Google, listing in English the relevant text of the declaration.
I think that labelling a group as "paramilitary" when ISRAEL calls it "terrorist" is a form of political advocacy. Surely that's not what Wiki stands for.
What can I do to work on this? As I said, I'm fairly new to wiki editing. Thanks for your time.

There are 84 members of WikiProject Yorkshire! No membership changes have taken place since the March newsletter,
though the number of active members is still currently low.
Thanks
Thanks to all those who took part in the Great Backlog Drive raised in the last newsletter. A small inroad was made getting down from 32.1% to 31.7% of articles tagged.
A very big Thank you to all the editors who labour away quietly and help make this WikiProject what it is; no edit goes unnoticed.
To members who have added suggestions to the ToDo list at Yorkshire Portal.
To the football and rugby editors who have done stirling work in keeping abreast of the top clubs.

Great!

I am ambivilent either way as to whether this page is deleted. But there needs to be some decision as to whether the railway station is an actual direct interchange, and thus should include reference to the tram stop there (as is the case with Manchester Piccadilly and Birmingham Snow Hill), or whether, given it has a seperate name, it should also be seperate (as with Station Street in Nottingham). I have nominated Sheffield Wednesday F.C. for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. Commons images
For those of you who missed it, April saw a milestone for images on Commons with the upload of the 10 millionth image. There are images on most subjects, if you can find them, to illustrate articles. With the major work of transferring Geograph images to Commons nearing completion then most location articles should have images available for use in illustrating the subject. All of the village and civil parish articles that had articles in December 2009 had categories created on Commons for them so that the Geograph images can be placed into them. Thus the {{Commons category}} template can be added to all village and civil parish articles to link to all the available images on Commons for the location. Though beware that if the template does not have any arguments, moving of the article to a new name will break the link to Commons so it is wise to include the article name in the template call e.g.{{Commons category|Rotherham}}.
Those of you interested in helping out at Commons are more than welcome to help organise and categorise all of the uploaded Geograph images so that they can be found and made available to users.
