More Than This edit

you added the release date on for MTT on their album and disco pages, 11 May is the release date for the music video not the single it self -- so i changed it to just 2012 because they have not confirmed the single release date -- here i already made the page see: More Than This (One Direction song) AdabowtheSecond (talk) 19:41, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Call My Name (Cheryl Cole song). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Other songs on wikipedia are also called "Call My Name", hence that is why Cheryl Cole is used in the disambiguation. Get it now?? Speedy deletion nomination of Daniel Entwistle edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Daniel Entwistle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. West Eddy (talk) 06:47, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Kellie Pratt edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kellie Pratt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Missing people edit

There are a number of separate issues re your recent burst of stuff from the Norfolk Constabulary website: copyvios are never acceptable. None of these people are notable in themselves; for this type of article the title must be disappearance of … or murder od … and even then you must provide links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. In the specific case of Pamela Exall since the Constabulary article contains a link to Peter Tobin here, you could return the compliment: create a short section about Pamela in the Peter Tobin article and link back to the Constabulary website. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:19, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted.   Thanks for uploading File:Nocureforlove.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:25, 14 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Irish box edition of Young Love edit

Hi there, fellow Jedward fan! I notice you added a bit to the Young Love album info about a special Irish edition of the album:

In Ireland, copies of the album ordered through the official Jedward store will come encased in a cardboard box, with the words "Jedward" and "Young Love" engraved into it, as well as an engraved picture of a heart that is sprouting wings. This version will be available in Ireland only.[1]

There are two issues with this. First, the "official Jedward store" is just a fansite with no official connection to Jedward. Second, there is no actual evidence of there being a special Irish box edition of the album. The reference just goes to a photo of the stencil print gift boxes that Canadian fan James Edward (@JepicFan) handmade as gifts for John and Edward.

If you have a better reference - something from Universal Ireland or Jedward themselves would be ideal - please add that. Otherwise it would be better to leave it off the Young Love page until there there is positive confirmation that this box edition actually exists. Thanks! =:-) Robyn2000 (talk) 13:35, 14 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Help Survey edit

Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.

Thank you for your time,

You've provided no sources for anything you've added to the article, Here's What I Believe. I've deleted the Confirmed Tracks section you added as it's pretty much all covered in the Songs section. You also uploaded a cover, claiming iTunes as your source, I just went on iTunes, both the UK and Ireland stores and couldn't find it anywhere, could you provide a link for this source, along with everything else you've added to the article. Proposed deletion of M.U.T.Y.A edit

The article M.U.T.Y.A has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

appears to be a bootleg album with no reliable sources. Not notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 19:33, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve I Found You edit

Thanks for creating I Found You, IWannaABillionaire!

Wikipedia editor Nittmann has tagged the page as having some issues to fix. In addition, they wrote this note for you:

could you break up this blob a little, at least into paragraphs...

composer, writer, singer are...? And you would need to add category tags. Check how other song pages do this by hitting 'edit'.

See talk, there is how to do that...

The tags on the page can be removed by you or another editor when the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on Nittmann's talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the the Teahouse.

Learn more about page curation.

some little hints to make your work easy edit

Others have done it already, so why not see how it is done by someone who did it. This is not about copying others' pages, but about learning by example. You should never copy/paste from another page, but link to it, or its relevant section.

just check how others do it, it's perfectly OK to do edit

here is how you can look how others do it (e.g. add categories):

you can hit the 'edit' tab on any page; this does not 'edit' the page
then scroll in the source window of the page, e.g. down until you see the entries.
do this for a song to see what they have

Now you do know how they look and where in the page source they are. When you are done viewing a source then hit the 'cancel' link, which is next to the preview button.

you can search for categories (long, really boring), or you can have the wiki system do that for you (yepeeh, let the computer do the work!) edit

Go and edit your page. Scroll to where the category entries should be.

enter a category entry, the first should be that it's a song, right? like so:

add others you think it should be in, like for genre and such, get inspiration what categories are used in similar songs
hit 'preview' and look at your categories in the preview of your page

Those that turned red are not (yet) wikipedia categories. You may just check now in the Category Tree, enter "recording" into the field, select "categories" from the menu button, hit enter, expand, and way down there is 'Single'. Do the same, e.g., for 'jazz', expand, drill down, find what is most appropriate.

Now, I found a little bug (reported it) in that things in the infobox do not seem to show up in searches. I would recommend you mention singer, writer, composer, album, etc. in the text also.

Write them like so (replace "composer name" with whatever is worth to check if there is a wikipedia entry on it, like recording and such things: don't forget, this is an encyclopedia. If you open one of these every article is full of links to other articles.
Write these items like so:

composer name

After you have them all in like that ( names, important items and terms enclosed in ) go to preview.
Those that are blue are things that are already on wikipedia, and that's nice to have them linked to from here.
Those that are red: go into the edit window and remove the brackets. Either there is nothing on it in Wikipedia, or it is written slightly different. Wikipedia is case sensitive.
... and as an extra:
If you do find a link but do not want to use "This Bulky Entry Title of The Littlething" in your text,

do this instead:

little thing

This replaces the sometimes long or uneven capitalized Wikipedia reference with what you want to call it in your text, but keeps it as a link to the existing Wikipedia content.

This way your article is referencing what's already in wikipedia, related to what you are writing about, and if people want more info they can just click on the blue words.

Hope that helps a little....  :-D

Hi IWannaABillionaire! I just noticed that you had a typo in your signature, making it link to User:IWannaABillionare instead of User:IWannaABillionaire. You probably want to fix that. :) Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 01:35, 22 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of D.I.S.C.O. (Chico song) edit

The article D.I.S.C.O. (Chico song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NSONG- no justification for separate article on this version

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. October 2012 edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 16:36, 3 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in you being blocked from editing. Dan56 (talk) 07:28, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you dont use an edit summary, your contributions to Pink Friday might be dismissed as unconstructive and reverted. Explaining them with a brief, little edit summary would help. Otherwise, dont be surprised if your changes arent accepted. Dan56 (talk) 17:09, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, could you tell me where you got the image for the album cover from? I can't find it anywhere on the internet other than Wikipedia. December 2012 edit

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to The Truth About Love (Pink album). Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 21:48, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

BTW, please get used to using an edit summary. It is considered good practice and a requirement for challengeable edits, such as large-scale additions (i.e. unsourced) or personalized format styles (i.e. arbitrary bold text) of your own contributions. Per WP:FIES:

Accurate summaries help other contributors decide whether it is worthwhile for them to review an edit, and to understand the change should they choose to review it. When a major edit (e.g. deletion of a substantial amount of text) doesn't have an edit summary, there are fewer reasons to assume good faith and busy editors may be more inclined to revert the change without checking it in detail.

Thanks for uploading File:Girlwhogotaway.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

December 2012 (2) edit

Hello, I'm Dan56. I noticed that you recently removed some content from The Massacre without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the removed content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Dan56 (talk) 21:37, 22 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Promotional CDs/Singles edit

Promotional songs are given to radio stations and DJs for free. That's how remixes are created. They are not intended to ever be seen by the public that's why they are not classified as a form of release. Often they are not even released by the record label but by executives or management etc. Their sales are not tracked because they are not supposed to be resold and they do not count in the UK Singles Chart or any other major record label chart. eBay is not a reliable source for music releases because anyone can upload and be claiming to sell anything. Please do not add these types of releases again. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 13:54, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. Request reason:

I understand that the reason that i was blocked is that i took copyrighted material from another website and placed it onto Wikipedia without consent of the original owner of the material. I understand that to continue editing on Wikipedia i must only write original material and stick to the rules that are stated in Wikipedia's copyright policy. I hereby state that if allowed to edit again i will stick to the rules that are outlined and take notice of any warnings given to me.

Decline reason:

The problem is that you have been repeatedly notified of copyright issues, as can be seen above, for at least the last eight months and continued anyway. Your unblock request is short on details so it is hard to know if you really understand anything or if you are just trying to say the right thing to get unblocked. Therefore:

This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
  2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
     • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
     • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
     • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
     • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
  3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
  4. It's the Things You Do edit

"It's the Things You Do" is a song written and recorded by British boyband Five, and released as the fifth overall single from their debut studio album, 5ive. The track was co-written by Max Martin, George Shahin, Herbie Crichlow and Five, and released as a single exclusively in the United States on October 27, 1998.

Background edit

"It's the Things You Do" was the third single to be released by the band in the United States, following the success of their debut release, "When the Lights Go Out", and the as-successful follow up, "Slam Dunk (Da Funk)".[3] It was decided that "It's the Things You Do" would not be released as a single in the band's home country, the United Kingdom, as they had already released four singles from the album there.

The single is also notable, as four versions of the main track exist. The first, is featured on the British version of the band's debut album, 5ive, and includes the following rap verse performed by Abs and J:

"You and me baby, like the A-B-C / K-I-S-S-I-N-G / Could it be, unity / I need like J Hoffa / Romance your body / Work it out - up proper / One of the finest / Things on my mind is / How you make me feel like gold, Queen Midas / Straight A plus, the material I bust / But the things that you do / Keep me up and it's a must".[4]

The second version of the track features on the American version of the band's debut album. It changes the instrumental arrangement of the song, and also changes some of the lyrics in the rap verse performed by Abs and J:

" You make my neck twist like the cap from a Coca-Cola bottle / With your body looking slicker than the finest throttle / Tell me baby, can you shimmy, can you make me feel hot / What you got gets me in that right spot / One of the finest / Things on my mind is / How you make me feel like gold, Queen Midas / Straight A plus, the material I bust / But the things that you do / Keep me up and it's a must".[5]

The third version of the track is the version released as a single in the United States. It completely removes the rap verse performed by Abs and J, and replaces it with another sung verse performed by Scott:

" Just like the rain falls, let's take it real slow / It's the season of our love / I just can't wait no more, need you right here, right now / Be my every all in all".

The fourth version of the track appears on the band's Greatest Hits album, released in 2001. It uses the instrumentation of the original British album version, but uses half of the rap from the American album version.

Music video edit

The music video for the track was directed by Nigel Dick, who had previously directed the video for the band's first American single, "When the Lights Go Out". The video was recorded at the Willow Springs Raceway in California, on the 23rd and 24th of November, 1998. The video was produced by David Robertson. In the video, the band are seen entering a race car into the race being held at the race track that day. They then take it turns to drive the car, whilst the remaining members of the band watch from the sidelines. The video also depicts the band performing parts of the track inside the area designated as 'the pits'. The video remains the only video never to be included on an official Five release.[6]

Actually, some of the copyright problems raised in relation to your edits stem not from direct copying but rather from close paraphrasing of the source content—that is, you make only minimal changes to it (e.g, substituting or deleting a word here and there). Could you also confirm that you read and understand Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing? It's not an official policy but is nonetheless a good explanation of the sort of paraphrasing that is unacceptable, and offers some tips on how to properly rewrite or paraphrase information from non-free sources. —Psychonaut (talk) 07:54, 28 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Return of Don Beech (The Bill) edit

The article The Return of Don Beech (The Bill) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't seem notable. Can't find anything about the article that proves notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:01, 25 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
