Speedy deletion nomination of Matthew Janney

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Matthew Janney requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. List of Language families

edit

Dear GeoRugby, concerning this edit to the article List of language families, of course the Kartvelian languages have no proven relationship with other languages, that's what makes a Language family a Language family. Language isolate is when only one language is completely unrelated to other languages (such as Basque or Sumerian). Please see Language isolate for future detail, hope that clears it up. Cheers Inter&anthro (talk) 22:36, 11 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Oh thank you, i thought it was also about language families with no relatives. I get it, this means only 1 Language without related languages. thank you.--GeoRugby (talk) 06:53, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Medieval poetry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Demetrius I. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Criteria for adding a page for a rugby player

edit

Hi Georugby

As Georgia is not considered as a "High performance union" none of the players that you have added are considered notable unless they have played in the World Cup, Rugby World Cup Sevens, IRB Sevens World Series, Commonwealth Games, Olympics or for a team in a fully professional rugby union competition. You should blank the pages yourself for deletion and replace the text with {{Db-g7}} unless the players meet the criteria. I will be noting them for speedy deletion if you don't. Thank you for your cooperation. Domdeparis (talk) 16:19, 28 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Here are the criteria for adding rugby players to Wikipedia. You can check it here WP:NRU

A rugby union person is presumed notable if he or she has played for, coached or administered:

  1. a "High Performance Union" at any time(see Note 1) or another test nation during an appearance at the men's Rugby World Cup(see Note 2) or,
  2. a team in a fully professional rugby union competition since 1995 or,
  3. a team in the Rugby World Cup Sevens, IRB Sevens World Series, Commonwealth Games, Olympics, or
  4. a women's national team in at least the semi-finals of the Women's Rugby World Cup.(see Note 3)

Note 1: "High Performance Unions" for men are: Argentina, Australia, Canada, England, Fiji, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Romania, Samoa, Scotland, South Africa, Tonga, United States, and Wales.[1] Women do not have this criterion.
Note 2: Non-High Performance Unions nations that have appeared at the World cup are: Georgia (2003, 2007, 2011), Ivory Coast (1995), Namibia (1999, 2003, 2007, 2011), Portugal (2007), Spain (1999), Russia (2011), Uruguay (1999 and 2003), and Zimbabwe (1987 and 1991)
Note 3: Nations that have played at the Women's World cup at the semi-final level are: Australia (2010), Canada (1998, 2002, 2006), England (1991, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010), France (1991, 1994, 2002, 2006, 2010), New Zealand (1991, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010), United States (1991, 1994, 1998), and Wales (1994).

The above parameters apply to all rugby union persons regardless of professional or amateur status. A player who signs for a team in a fully professional rugby competition but has not played in any games is not deemed to have participated in a competition, and is therefore not generally regarded as being notable. Youth players are not notable unless they satisfy one of the statements above, or if they can be shown to meet the wider requirements of WP:GNG.

OMG, so you think that Georgia is not high performance team and Romania, USA, Canada, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa are high performance teams.

First of all Georgia has vote in World Rugby, Is on 11th place in the World. Has Autoqualified for 2019 RWC, crowds in USA, Canada, Romania, Tonga, Fiji and Samoa in not even close to Georgia's home matches crowd. (52,000 in 2016 REC final)

Georgia is considered as High performance Union in World Rugby (Dublin).

And Giorgi Koshadze is team member. He was participating in U20 championship in England this year. He is Playing in Georgian Championship and he will play 3 matches vs Japan, Samoa and Scotland in November. I have made sources that he is real person, playing for Georgia this november. So i DO NOT CARE if you consider Lelos and Ivory Coast as low Performance teams. World Rugby does not consider. So Thank you for your edit but It is not your responsibility to delete the page. Admins will review it and make a decision. Bye Bye... --GeoRugby (talk) 18:11, 28 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi georugby It is not I who doesn't consider Georgia as a "high performance union" but the different editors who have edited the rugby criteria for notability please read it here "High Performance Union" Domdeparis (talk) 09:30, 29 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

proposed change in WP:NRU criteria

edit

Hi I'm trying to get the notability criteria changed to enable the Georgian international players to be included following the new definition of a High performance Union by the IRB. Check out my suggestion here. Talk page NRU --Domdeparis (talk) 09:34, 23 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

That guy, Giorgi Koshadze (20 years old) played 70 min against Samoa and will play as starting N13 against Scotland in Kilmarnock. That will be good to get some T2 unions in high performance. Just because World Rugby considers them as high performance teams and wikipedia does not. Thanks --GeoRugby (talk) 10:20, 23 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi I feel if you want this page to be kept you really need to add more information as at the moment it is just a list of statistics and for just 2 matches that seems a little light. If you have any information about what happened during the matches that would make it notable then now is the time to add it. regards --Domdeparis (talk) 14:26, 8 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

@GeoRugby: Hi sorry to insist but this page will probably be deleted if you don't fill it out with more prose and information about the matches. --Domdeparis (talk) 10:59, 15 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Giorgi Menabde

edit

The article Giorgi Menabde has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Proposed deletion of Arsen Machaladze

edit

The article Arsen Machaladze has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NRU according to GSA and has no profile on any other rugby website. In my WP:BEFORE search, I could only find trivial mentions in match reports for U20 fixtures so looks like a WP:GNG fail also.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Irakli Simsive moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Irakli Simsive, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
