ITN

Dear Fuzheado,

Following your recent admin activity at ITN, a number of concerns have been raised to which you haven't been given a fair opportunity to respond. I apologise for this and for my tone in some of the discussions.

Only a small number of users at ITN have the elevated rights required to edit the main page. It is therefore important that any user using admin tools can retain the trust of the community that they will use those tools responsibly. After discussion with Sean Heron on my talk page, it is fair that you are provided with an opportunity to respond to the concerns per WP:ADMINACCT. These concerns are that you have historically made controversial admin actions at ITN, including pulling/reinstating items against consensus, wheel warring, and accusing others of wheel warring. Most recently you stated another admin (Spencer) of acting in "poor faith". I'd like you to consider whether this is something you would like to retract. Black Kite has suggested you might voluntarily refrain from using your administrator tools to impose your own opinions. Is this something that you would consider? Polyamorph (talk) 10:50, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

Hello Fuzheado. Please could you respond to these concerns? Best wishes Polyamorph (talk) 16:37, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
Consider the note acknowledged and I have now seen the ANI thread. As you can see from my largely dormant on-wiki activity since September 1, I was away from the Internet for U.S. Labor Day weekend, involved with the Wikimedia Summit in Berlin for another five days, and then filled with work obligations ever since I've been back. I will respond when I get a chance, but with all respect, do understand that I consider a response to these is not the highest priority right now. Thanks. - Fuzheado | Talk 15:11, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
Thank you, I have responded at WP:ANI. Polyamorph (talk) 16:08, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
For completeness and for future readers, I should note that I have replied to this general talk message and ANI at this link: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Extended_Response_from_User:Fuzheado. - Fuzheado | Talk 05:31, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
  • Note that I've posted an intention to topic ban you from T:ITN if you aren't going to participate in the ANI thread. Full explanation is here. --Floquenbeam (talk) 20:46, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Leaving this here because you mentioned the past few weeks had been challenging. I did think about taking it to AN instead of ANI, where it might have been less hostile. Perhaps I should have done, or been more patient. But hopefully this kitten helps :)

RM

You should have let it go 7 days. I didn't get a chance to vote (I won't have a chance until Monday). Please self-revert and reopen the RM. Not sure what the rush is. Is it too much to ask that we have one 7-day RM? Just one. But some admins are in such a rush to quick close; I see it happen over and over. I'd ask you to reflect on what is gained by closing it after 2 days instead of 7 and why whatever that is, is worth disenfranchising your fellow editors who haven't had a chance to vote yet. Levivich (talk) 20:39, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

If consensus is clear and overwhelming, there is no reason to prolong things. I'm sorry you feel like it wasn't enough time for you, but you took the time to leave a long note (which was appreciated) explaining your POV, so I expected if you wanted to express a support/oppose !vote, you would have done it. Since there was sentiment to act on it to close, and I received two "thanks" for doing so, it would not be prudent to re-open it. Let's move on. Thanks. – Fuzheado | Talk 03:58, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
Um, the time I took to answer your question (which did not address at all my POV about what the best title is) ate into the time I had available to research and write a !vote. This is a holiday weekend in the US and I'm traveling and on mobile. I planned to do my research and write my vote on Monday or Tuesday, which still would have given me plenty of time within the 7-day RM window. Now I guess I'll be drafting a move review instead. A single 7-day RM is not too much to ask. I still don't understand why you and others seem so hell bent on preventing that from happening. Levivich (talk) 04:08, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
I will reply on the talk page of the article. - Fuzheado | Talk 05:03, 9 October 2022 (UTC)

Goldmark

Your "Reliable sources" request does not apply. All of the material I edited was cosmetic, i.e., grammar, etc. You obviously did not read any of it. Almost everything I did was simply to grammatically correct info that was already there. So whatever info was already there must ALSO have had no reliable source? My additions concern the SAME SOURCES. Before I began editing, that page was loaded with errors in spelling and grammar. All I did was improve all that. You restored all the mistakes. Please be more diligent and rational before completely wiping-out the hard work of others. - Brad Aumick Aumickb (talk) 06:14, 10 October 2022 (UTC)

Sorry, I saw these edits which are not merely "cosmetic" [1] [2] and added serious unsourced biographical claims ("lesbian communist" and "communist sympathies"). The rollback function rolled back a larger accumulation of your edits than I expected, so for that in particular I apologize. I will let you do your editing which seems to be positive, but could I suggest: 1) you add a citation to each of those statements and 2) you use the edit summary for each edit more effectively? Even if it's a simple "copy edit" that would help, as right now reading your user contributions tab gives no idea what you are editing. Special:Contributions/Aumickb Thanks. - Fuzheado | Talk 06:49, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
Hi Andrew,
You are correct, there were some new sources added, and I have since followed some links, read some "how to," and believe I have cited properly. Also, I went to your site and watched your video's. I had no idea some of this was going on, i.e., Wiki editing by biased individuals, etc. You have actually helped me learn a great deal and I now have a much better understanding of Wikipedia. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Brad Aumick Aumickb (talk) 22:41, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Calvin and Charlene Hoe

The article Calvin and Charlene Hoe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Duplicates scope of articles Calvin Hoe and Charlene Hoe, which are more developed

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

Dog's co‌ck (Edit to page "Exclamation mark")

"Eats Shoots and Leaves" by Lynne Truss lists the following synonyms for "exclamation mark": "a screamer, a gasper, a startler, or a dog's c‌ock." (You can look it up on Google Books if you don't believe me.) Urban Dictionary also lists its meaning as such. I furthermore have personal knowledge that "dog's co‌ck" is used among a certain group of people (journalists in the United Kingdom).

Screamer, gasper, startler are all listed on the Wikipedia page, but for some reason, dog's co‌ck isn't... I can't fathom why <‌/s>

No need to get emotional - an unregistered person like you adding something with sensitive words is always going to get extra scrutiny. I took the liberty of removing the text you'd added the cn template to in the Killing of Sara-Nicole Morales. It had just been added and multiple sources in the article indicate she was pregnant. Feel free to revert if you disagree, but my feeling is if there's one story with citations and another without, we should opt for the one with citations until clear citations can be provided which contradict them. Paula Abdul

Hi, I'm writing because I think you made a mistake with your semi-protection of Paula Abdul. The page had already been protected for one year (which was the length of the previous protection which expired only shortly before the egregious vandalism resumed) before you went in and changed it to a week. The subject of the page is a living person and the page has been a long-term vandalism target. Would you please take a look at the page's protection history and either restore the one-year protection or make the protection longer? Thanks. Elkono (talk) 17:06, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

I am pretty sure this is Effie

Smithsonian BecauseOfHerStory National Portrait Gallery edit-a-thon group photo

Fuzheado, I am 99% sure that Effie is in the 12 o'clock position in this photo you took. Could you confirm before I place it on her memorial page? Thanks. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 18:05, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Yes, thanks for that and that is indeed her at at center, which is exactly the right place! It was one of her favorite pictures. - Fuzheado | Talk 18:08, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response. And the great photo. I posted it. Again, so sorry to hear of her death so young. Best, WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 18:15, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
