Thanos MCU Page

Hey! I've been hard at work on a Thanos page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Thanos_(Marvel_Cinematic_Universe)) which was inexplicably denied publication (see my post here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation/Help_desk). Any chance you know enough about Wikipedia to help me out with this?Delfino319 (talk) 22:09, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

It looks like you're taking the correct steps at the user's talk and the Help desk, and it appears it will be resolved once the reviewing editor has a chance to comment. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:13, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

Arkham Knight

Oi lad don’t go changing the setting from nine months to one year it’s already been established that the setting is nine months keep re verting it and we’ll take it to the mods again. RossButsy (talk) 17:31, 25 January 2020 (UTC)

Provide a reliable third-party source supporting that. The one year is supported by the reference in article. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:04, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

HEROES V ALIENS

You “corrected” me on a page about the Heroes v Aliens crossover. Don’t. You are spreading false information. The crossover is not called Invasion! It’s called Heroes v. Aliens. The episodes are titled Invasion. There is a reason the promotional images are titled Heroes v. aliens. That is the official Crossover name. Arrowversefanatic2002 (talk) 22:35, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

Enoch

Hello again. You may have noticed I reverted your, er, reverts. I do not mean to edit war. I have a source for my edits, but I do not know how to properly source episode timestamps. You can see the timestamp in the history section, but I'll also copy it here: Season 6, episode 13, timestamp: 6:18, Enoch reveals his full name. Once I see you do it properly, I won't need to worry about it again. Thanks. :) --65.35.64.144 (talk) 04:24, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

Constantine

If the CHARACTER is the same, then it means the SHOW also takes place in the main Arrowverse continuity, Earth-1, yes? The same Constantine experienced his TV series and Arrow/Legends on the same Earth, same timeline, yes? Then it's Arrowverse. There are also reliable sources that stated Black Lightning is not Arrowverse, prior to his inclusion in Crisis. Both shows (along with Supergirl) are "retroactively" Arrowverse. This is different from Flash 90, or Batman 66 that take place on alternate realities and simply have crossovers. You also failed to comment on The CW (creator's of the Arrowverse) placing it under the Arrowverse label on their streaming app. Just because the creator of the Constantine TV series said the CHARACTER was the same, doesn't mean the show doesn't also take place in the Arrowverse. Those are not contradictory statements last I checked... AEWFanboy 21:01, 9 February 2020 (UTC)

Please see all of the content and sources in Arrowverse#Constantine_(2014–2015), and the discussions here, here, here, and here. How an app chooses to group similar shows (ie comic-related) is irrelevant. That's not a strong case for support. And as you'll see in those linked discussions and as I've stated, from the character's first appearance on Arrow, it has always been the same character, but not always an automatic that the series is also considered part of the shared universe. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:00, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
Forgot to include this too which clearly shows the show Constantine to be separate, but yet still confirm the character is the same from the show. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:42, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

Avengers: Endgame

Hey, shouldn't we have left that in? Because Infinity War and Endgame are the film adaptations of The Infinity Gauntlet and everyone knows it. In fact, Marvel makes them because of that. So why did you remove it? Or am I wrong and is Endgame not an adaptation of Infinity Gauntlet? Mk8mlyb (talk) 02:34, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

Uh, hello? You there? (Sorry if that sounded rude, but I just wanted an answer of some kind.) Mk8mlyb (talk) 02:48, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
They are not direct adaptations and the film's credits do not reflect such. Info on the adaptations have properly been noted in the production sections of each article. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:01, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
They're still adaptations, though, right? Did they base Endgame only as the counterpart/sequel to Infinity War, or did they also base it off Infinity Gauntlet? Also, I think Infinity War credits Jim Starlin, who created Thanos. Mk8mlyb (talk) 15:56, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

Lady Gaga

Hello! I know this really isn’t your wheelhouse or interest area, but I thought I’d reach out to you with this considering all the help you’ve given me in the past with the Stranger Things pages (thank you, by the way). I’ve been working on a draft for Lady Gaga’s sixth studio album for a while and the other day, another user asked me to merge their draft with theirs, even though theirs was sparse. I did so, and now their page is made up of about 95% of the content from my draft. I essentially wrote the entire page. Can you do me a favor and take a look at the two pages, and somehow merge the histories? I would appreciate it! My draft is Draft: Chromatica and their draft is Draft:LG6. Thank you so much. SomethingToTellYou (talk)

Yes, help with the merge would be helpful. There is Draft_talk:LG6#Merge support for merging Draft:Chromatica into Draft:LG6, which is older and has been edited by more authors. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:20, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
@Another Believer: Please don’t think I was trying to be shady. I just want my edits and work preserved is all. Don’t mind relinquishing the draft in the slightest! :) SomethingToTellYou (talk) 23:20, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
SomethingToTellYou, No worries at all, I just wanted to show there is support by others as well. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:32, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

@SomethingToTellYou and Another Believer: Sorry, I've been away for a bit. If this hasn't been taken care of, please follow the steps laid out at WP:REPAIR to get the various draft histories merged. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:52, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

About runtimes

Hi. Isn't it the consensus that we can only use sources like BBFC for film runtimes? That was my understanding, but after undoing this edit I started having doubts. El Millo (talk) 17:44, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Yes, that is what we generally do. Relying on listings from different theatres has proven to be unreliable in the past. We usually get an official runtime once the film was been officially classified by a group like the BBFC so that is why we tend to use them. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:26, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
Shouldn't we clarify it in the WP:MOSFILMS? El Millo (talk) 21:56, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
@Facu-el Millo: Yes I believe that is general consensus among editors, but I don't know if there have ever been any formal discussions about adding wording in the MOS. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:52, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
And in relation to the edit you linked, Comicbook.com is fine, but the info comes from a theater chain, so no, we shouldn't use that source. And the general reasoning is, various theater chains can have slight discrepancies in their times so at that point, which one would you use for the "actual" one? Thus it is better to wait for a classification organization to provide a time, or some other source that isn't coming from the theater chains. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:55, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
Template talk:Infobox film#Adding wording to the "runtime" documentation. This is the discussion (and proper place for this info). - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:53, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

Accessibility issue with icons

Hey, I noticed that in Crisis on Infinite Earths (Arrowverse) you used the "†" icon. Please note that an icon like that is an accessibility issue per MOS:NOSYMBOLS. The MoS advises to use {{Dagger}} instead if that symbol is wanted. --Gonnym (talk) 15:00, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

@Gonnym: Thank you! I wasn't sure about the symbol. Would |alt= need to be used, and if so, would it just need to be "footnote" as in the documentation, or something more specific to the article? I'm still not sure if that's the best approach to classifying those actors who appear uncredited. If you have any other suggestions for that, I'm open to it! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:25, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure, the MoS (for me) isn't that clear on this. But the dagger template does provide a default alt text which is "dagger". I personally prefer to use {{efn}} style notes for notes or something similar to how the table at List of Marvel Cinematic Universe film actors#Phase One handles it with {{ref}}. --Gonnym (talk) 17:10, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
@Gonnym: I've simply used {{dagger}} at the moment and I believe that is okay as well. Yes, {{efn}} is usually what I prefer as well, and it is how the article handled it as seen here before I switched it. I just felt having 19 instances down in the notes section seemed unruly, especially now since specifics on the archive footage a lot of these are from are known. Hence why I tried the dagger. We could go back to that, and I alternatively though to create additional subheadings under each series for the uncredited. So Supergirl being a level 4 header, with an additional "Uncredited" level 5 header as an example. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:45, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Implementing MCU changes

Your going through the MCU films and making the changes per Talk:List_of_Marvel_Cinematic_Universe_films#Organically_linking_the_Phase_articles_in_the_lead_(or_elsewhere) has made my watchlist look really funny. Made me smile. Useight (talk) 01:21, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Thanks! Just trying to make sure anyone going to any film articles knows why the change is being made. The downside of course if you watch all of the articles, you're going to see it 23 times. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:27, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Infobox television season

Hey, are you familiar with how the code for infobox templates work? The way that the season infobox is wrapping the title at the moment is starting to become a real pet-peeve of mine but I don't know how the code works in order to be bold and fix it. For reference, this is coming from this discussion: Template talk:Infobox television season#Title wrap. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:30, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Yeah let me take a look. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:37, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
@Adamstom.97: I have something working. Go to any season, change the infobox to be "Infobox television season/sandbox" and preview the edit and you'll see the change. It's not quite ready to implement though because of the articles in this category. Category:Infobox television season articles that use the season name parameter. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:57, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for working so quick on that! For that category, is that something I could help with to get the process moving or is there something holding them up? - adamstom97 (talk) 22:01, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Well it's tricky. Take The Bachelor (Australian season 1). It's using |season_name= to make it The Bachelor Australia (season 1), so in that instance, should the article just be The Bachelor Australia (season 1)? Some appear to be using the parameter incorrectly, so those can be looked at (ie just repeating the page title name). Once we look through those, I'll see if more code has to be added to consider these cases where the page has a disambiguation, but |show_name= needs to be used to override it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:04, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
That makes sense. I might take a look if I have time at some point and see if there are any that I can help clear out. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:21, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Like I said, I'm not too familiar with this stuff, but is it possible to have |show_name= override the series name at the top if it is used, and then have the ability to hide the season somehow? Like |hide_season= = y or something? I think that would cover the different examples at that category. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:24, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
I think I'm confused by your second example. Those aren't currently parameters. Are asking if they can become them? I don't know if we would need them, because I think I have the sandbox edit handling most cases correctly with |season_name=. Only a few of them I'm questioning right now. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:40, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
I was just looking at something like El Reencuentro (season 1) and trying to come up with suggestions for how to deal with it. If you have a plan already then just ignore me haha - adamstom97 (talk) 22:43, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
In my eyes, El Reencuentro is fine, because the use of show_name does not include any dabs. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:14, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

So the articles that I think are currently an issue in that category are: The Bachelor; The Bachelorette; Being Human; Big Brother Portuguese, Swedish, China, and Naija; Bigg Boss; I Can See Your Voice; Yu Gi Oh 5D; and Yu Gi Oh Duel Monsters. The issue with these is they are using show_name and are including dabs with them. A lot of these are reality series and I tend to stay away from those articles, but I do feel some of them probably need to either move namespaces or have their infobox names adjusted. These should be looked at, and I'm exploring additional coding to help. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:55, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

Alex 21 I know you're a bit busy I believe, but I could use your help on this if you have a moment. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:08, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

Favre1fan93, sure. Can you summarize what the issue is? I've taken a read through several discussions, and I'm not sure what we're aiming towards here. -- /Alex/21 10:41, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Can you give a specific example of a page not working? Working off your code, I didn't find any broken examples. See Module talk:Infobox television season name/testcases (last section) for testcases. --Gonnym (talk) 10:51, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
@Alex 21 and Gonnym: Thank you both for the help! The main issue I think I have was with my coding (if it could be better) and the articles I mentioned to Adam above in Category:Infobox television season articles that use the season name parameter. So if you look at what I've hardcoded, here, I moved a page's disambiguation to the subheader (So with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 7), "Season 7" becomes the subheader). I then added two new parameters |sub_series= and |sub_season= so if there was an article that wanted just the season to appear they could (ie Hawaii Five-O (1968 TV series, season 1) could have either "1968 TV series, season 1" as the subheader, or flag |sub_season= to have it just be "Season 1"). And finally, today I wanted to look at adding a subheader override parameter to help deal with something like I Can See Your Voice (South Korean season 1). Gonnym, I see you've refined what I changed in the sandbox. Does it only take the season info for the subheader (not full disambiguation text)? Articles not behaving properly would be Celebrity Big Brother 2 (American season), Celebrity Big Brother (British series 2), and then ones that need to be examined more indepth to how they are using the infobox from the cat given: The Bachelor; The Bachelorette; Being Human; Big Brother Portuguese, Swedish, China, and Naija; Bigg Boss; I Can See Your Voice; Yu Gi Oh 5D; and Yu Gi Oh Duel Monsters - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:50, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Currently the module code does what I thought your code was doing: above (untouched): |season_name= for manual and article title without dab as default; sub-heading (changed) to write "Season <#>" or "Series <#>" depending on either the article title dab (default) or by the manually entered parameters of |season_type= and |season_number=. The country prefix or the year prefix are not shown as your code didn't touch that and it seems that was the (small) consensus in Template_talk:Infobox_television_season/Archive_4#Adjusting_the_header_title. But anything can be done as long as it's defined. --Gonnym (talk) 14:57, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
@Gonnym: I was using {{Title disambig text|{{PAGENAME}}}} as my final if case to present the whole disambiguation text, so that's how I got instances where the year or country would also be included in the subheader. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:43, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Ah, I see. I'm not really sure that is needed. If you look at the tracking category you linked to, other than valid-ish uses where the article title and infobox name are completely different, the other usages are to remove this extended disambiguation. This was also the sentiment in the talk page discussion I linked to. I personally feel that the extended disambiguation is unhelpful in the infobox, as at the point you are reading it, you know exactly what article you are on (from the dab in the article title). --Gonnym (talk) 15:57, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
I wanted to faithfully recreate whatever was in the disambiguation first before adjusting, but yeah I agree with you it might not be necessary. Though in the US and British Big Brother examples I linked, wasn't I reading from the past discussion that we would want those to stay? How would you handle I Can See Your Voice (South Korean season 1), which has additional Korean text, or Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's (season 2), which I think the subheading would want to be "Season 2: Earthbound Immortals"? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:12, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
I Can See Your Voice (South Korean season 1) is abusing the title field because we don't have a |native_name= parameter; my fix for that would be to add the correct parameter. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's (season 2) can use the |season_name= parameter to have it displayed however they want, unless you want it to display "Season 2: Earthbound Immortals" and then we'd need another parameter. --Gonnym (talk) 16:32, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Okay great! So the only other one I've found that might be an issue is Big Brother Naija. I think this page is formatted poorly, but the season template in the season 1 section needs to use both season name and season number. I've tested it in the edit preview, and it isn't producing the results we want, but I know using both parameters work together because it works on The Bachelor (Australia season 1) as a test. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:48, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, I didn't do anything if an article title isn't disambiguated. I'll tweak the code there. --Gonnym (talk) 17:01, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
As far as I can tell, I believe this solves all the issue we were having to get it where we wanted, and I think it's at a good spot to present to the wider TV project to assure there's consensus to implement. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:07, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

Gonnym One last thing. Do we need to create |season_type=? Could we just make an alias to |season_number= that is |series_number=, and depending on which is used, season or series appears in the subheader? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:12, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

(1) ok, Big Brother Naija should now work. The code now will also work for titles that aren't disambiguated (but it will only work if an editor manually enters the season number as there won't be any title dab to get this information from). (2) Yes, I can change it. Will do it now. --Gonnym (talk) 17:15, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Test it now and let me know (my testcases pass but I could have missed something). --Gonnym (talk) 17:21, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Big Brother Naija  Y; The Bachelor (Australian season 1)  Y; Celebrity Big Brother (British series 17)  Y; The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2 (which already used the season_number parameter) now shows the season (but this can be removed if users don't want that); I Can See Your Voice (South Korean season 1)  N as we need a |native_name= added to this infobox; Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's (season 2) ? Maybe I think for these we can make season_name Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Earthbound Immortals and have the season below as normal. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:29, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
At the moment if I preview an article using "Infobox television season/sandbox" it is adding a coloured background to the season subheading. Is this intended? I though we were going with something more like the episode infobox. - adamstom97 (talk) 07:51, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Yes it is. When I was doing my first pass it wasn't, but then looking over it again, since the current style has the season colored, it felt correct to have the subheading use the color as well. I read into the desire to follow the episode infobox more for the location placement of the season info, not so much exactly stylistically. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:54, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Questions about DC's Stargirl edit

Hello,

I hope you are well despite grim circumstances. I have a few questions concerning some edits I made to the Stargirl TV show page in March that you reverted due to lack of verifiable sources. I wanted to put sources, but I had no idea how with the template box. It has been a month, and I still don't know how to understand this site. I was wondering what is considered verifiable sources for the show. Would Deadline and TV Line be verifiable sites for entertainment media? What other sites like those two are reliable? Also, if I cite information from the official site for the DC Universe service, is that okay? How about the press site for the CW network? I understand the official show is a DC Universe Original, but the CW also provides the same information as the DC site and does most of its marketing.

I ask this because I want to add my sources, but I don't know how to reference them on the page where it needs to be. (To be clear, I'm not talking about the regular text box. I could cite from there. If I'm editing the template box, I cannot press the reference/cite button, and I don't know how else to cite any changes from it).

For starters, I added the show would air in 4K Ultra HD. This is only for the DC Universe service, and I got this from the DC Universe service site and the official DC Comics site.

https://community.dcuniverse.com/t/release-date-update-stargirl-debuts-right-here-on-dc-universe-monday-may-18th/726467

https://www.dccomics.com/blog/2020/03/31/dc-universe-announces-the-characters-appearing-in-stargirl

I also added Melissa Carter as an executive producer. This is confirmed from a post on the official DC Universe service and from Deadline

https://www.dcuniverse.com/news/stargirl-gets-new-premiere-date-may-18th/

https://deadline.com/2019/11/stargirl-episodes-the-cw-network-dc-universe-streaming-debut-linear-window-digital-1202792227/

https://deadline.com/2020/03/the-cw-in-the-dark-dc-stargirl-new-premiere-dates-whose-line-is-it-anyway-covid-19-scheduling-changes-supernatural-legacies-exit-final-season-coronavirus-1202893520/

The official page for Stargirl on the DC Universe service list the series regulars https://www.dcuniverse.com/videos/stargirl/201 This is also backed up by the CW press site https://cwtvpr.com/the-cw/shows/dcs-stargirl/about Which also states that Melissa Carter is a co-showrunner for the series (a third source).

The part about Scott Peck being one of the cinematographers came from his website: https://scottpeckdp.com/projects/stargirl/

I'm not sure which of these would be considered verifiable/reliable sources for Wikipedia, so I'm messaging you to help me decide. I also need some assistance in citing from Template Boxes because I haven't found a Helpful demonstration. Most demonstrations on references show me things I know how to do. I was also wondering if I or someone could update the picture used for the logo or are we waiting until the series premieres and using the title card from the pilot episode (instead of the ones used to introduce the trailers)? Thank you for your time.

Anonbyty (talk) 05:25, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

@Anonbyty: I've gone ahead and adding in all of this to the article with this edit. In terms of sources, yes for TV series Deadline and TV Line are reliable. Others include The Hollywood Reporter, The A.V. Club, IGN, and Variety to name a few. You can find info on sources generally at WP:RS as well as TV specific ones at WP:TVFAQ. I'm not too clear on your issue citing information. You should be adding your text in the edit box for the citation with the {{Cite web}} template and filling in the parameters necessary. You can look to my edit on Stargirl for this to see what I did if that helps. If you are referring to some sort of bot or tool to "auto fill" a citation, in my experience, those are good for helping to fix something or aid in what has already been added, not starting from scratch. Hope that helps. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:30, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Crisis on Infinite Earths (Arrowverse) copyedit

The Illuminerdi

Hi. I always get confused by this. How can you tell that The Illuminerdi isn't a reliable source? It doesn't seem reliable at first sight, but how can you know for sure? In order to use it as an argument in the future for any website of dubious reliability. El Millo (talk) 19:27, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

For starters, there is no "About" page. While not always an indication, a site having one is a good step towards figuring out reliability because you can see if there is any editorial oversight for the website. The Illuminerdi does not have this, so that to me is one red flag that they are most likely not reliable. And second, just by looking over the site, they seem to be very similar to MCU Direct, Heroic Heroes, and Comic Book Movie, all of which are all unreliable per WP:QUESTIONABLE for one. From all of this, it can be assumed that Illuminerdi is not reliable. Also, some common sense, looking at a site called "Illuminerdi" is very likely not going to be reputable to cite here. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:29, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed that your original edit at WandaVision added |format= to the infobox. Is there a page you copied this template from (and isn't the actual template doc)? I've been trying to track down the outdated examples for a while now. --Gonnym (talk) 19:15, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, I just saw that and was curious about it myself. I'm not entirely sure, but most likely it was another of the MCU series. Most likely Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but could have been any of them (List of Marvel Cinematic Universe television series). - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:18, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
...it wasn't SHIELD. I'm looking into this too to see. WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier were both created by me the same day in Nov 2018. So I pulled the infobox code from an existing article at that time to start. I know I didn't copy from the template documentation. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:23, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
Okay it might have been Daredevil (TV series), Jessica Jones (TV series), or Iron Fist (TV series) because those all have it (I'm about to remove them now). When Daredevil was created in April 2014 it had it and I have no clue where Fandraltastic, who is no longer active, copied that from. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:25, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
Amazing detective work! I truly enjoyed following your updates :) Yeah, I guess most of these pages are a result from one page copying another and spreading these. At least now the template will give the red warning when these show up. --Gonnym (talk) 19:28, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, that's usually what I do, is copy from other articles (because in the case of MCU series, most of the info is the same so I already have it ready). The warning was how I noticed it at WandaVision, because I was just looking at the name parameter and saw the extra warning. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:33, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts 2.8

Hey question, do you have any thoughts on a good screenshot for this game? I usually try to pick shots that illustrate something the article has said about the game, such as “great graphics”, or “this character was redesigned many times”. You seem familiar with the game, so I thought I’d ask. Cheers! Judgesurreal777 (talk) 18:22, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Anything from 0.2 or Back Cover because those are the "new" entries in the franchise. And then I guess finding what screenshots were released by Square Enix as a starting point to see what could be good for inclusion. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:43, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
Here are the screenshots from Square Enix's site. The one titled "0.2bt en 02 FIX" from 9/14/2016 might be good because that was a pretty memorable point in the game that you might be able to get further commentary on. Also "0.2 KH2.8 1" under 6/16/2016 might be good. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:51, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
That’s great, thanks! I’ll see if there is more commentary on the shots, and I’ll let you know. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 16:59, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
Actually, the shot with Aqua and the reflective floor is amazing... what part of the game is it from, and what is going on? Now I’m really curious! Judgesurreal777 (talk) 17:03, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure it's from the second "world" of 0.2 and Aqua is trying to find the secrets of various mirrors to ultimately battle a "mirror" version of herself. It can be seen in this gameplay video around 36:00. Just curious, I know you are attempting to get the article to GA, but have you played the game? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:19, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
I played about a half an hour of the first Kingdom Hearts many years ago. They look really fun, and I have played many of the other Square Enix games like Final Fantasy, Mana, Dragon Quest. They seem great, and I would like to play them if I get a chance, might pick up that “story so far” title. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 17:33, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

Got it. Well I'm not actively trying to work on the article and have been just glancing at what you're doing. So since you haven't played it, if you come across something that you need some more insight on, let me know. And yeah, Kingdom Hearts is my favorite series, so I'd definitely recommend getting the bundle to experience the series. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:05, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

@Judgesurreal777: Actually, I'll help you with the GA nom of this. Give me a little to look over what you've altered to make sure we're in a good place to nom. I don't know about adding much else from me, but I'll look over what you've done more thoroughly than I have been. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:39, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

I do think we should have a plot section for the 2 new original pieces of content in the collection in some form. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:45, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Daisy Johnson (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

Hello!

Sorry to bother you, but are you able to help me with the article for Daisy Johnson (Marvel Cinematic Universe)? I have begun working on it at User:Firespin02/Daisy Johnson / Quake (Marvel Cinematic Universe). I haven't gotten that far yet, but I wanted to get some help before I get too far.

Thank you so much for your help!

I hardly work on character articles so I will not be much help. I would recommend, however, that you start the article in the draft space (at Draft:Daisy Johnson (Marvel Cinematic Universe)) so more users can find it and work on it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:36, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Thank you!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Firespin02 (talkcontribs) 22:11, 12 May 2020 UTC (UTC)

Simple question about Citations/References

Hi Favre

I am just an average user who simply just uses the ProveIt tool to add citations to articles. I am interested to learn why you prefer to use the references system you use, any benefits I should know of. Thanks ~ BOD ~ TALK 16:25, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

@Bodney: I don't use any tools/gadgets to add refs. I hand input them all. I've been editing since 2012 and at that time, I was following examples of other editors and possibly how the {{cite web}} documentation was presented at that time. And that has morphed into how I add references which is this order: {{cite web|url= |title= |last= |first= |work= |date= |accessdate= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |url-status=}}. That is a logical progression in my eyes of presenting the info to someone looking at the wiki text (the url and title, followed by who wrote it and where, when it was published and when the editor accessed it, and finally all the archive info). I'm not against ProveIt (I've recently started using it myself to "normalize" refs) but my way of adding new refs is like muscle memory at this point so that's just how I do it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:04, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, I just noticed you clean & upgrade citations :) ~ BOD ~ TALK 18:34, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

Edits

Just to be clear, the edit summaries here and here are not in reference to you. The IP doing those rewrites is a problematic sockpuppet engaging in block evasion, so it's not even worth legitimizing what they're doing by fixing it; just revert on sight. My apologies for also reverting you in the process of doing so. Grandpallama (talk) 19:23, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

@Grandpallama: Thanks for the insight, but the adjustments I made from their edits are actually an improvement, so I'm going to go ahead and restore them. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:58, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
No problems with restoring your edits, of course, but I would advise against restoring his. It seemed like your copyedits were mostly to verbiage he introduced. Thanks! Grandpallama (talk) 21:03, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
They are definitely not full restores to what the IP did. When I looked at what was changed, I did ultimately restore some wording back, further adjustment myself, or left a few adjustments by the IP that I deemed acceptable changes, or ones I would have made myself. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:05, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

Template:Infobox reality competition season/doc and the visual editor

Your edits to the Template:Infobox reality competition season/doc while seemingly correct, it doesn't actually translate to the visual editor. You can't select the name of an alias parameter (which logically isn't incorrect), and since the parameters here aren't just "editor preference parameters" but they actually change the label text, that means that any editor using the visual editor can't use them. I'm not sure what other edits you had there so can you please revisit your edit and change back anything that wasn't part of the fix you did? --Gonnym (talk) 20:10, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Gotcha. Yeah I'll adjust back the visual editor parts. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:27, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

stargirl

You are reading that interview wrong.. he doesn't say 10 total... he says "10 minutes out of the first two episodes".. that could be read to mean 10 out of each... and the bleeding cool interview he says it specifically [1] "To accommodate commercials, 10 minutes out of each episode had to be cut". that seems pretty clear to me... also I watched both versions of both episodes and it was pretty darn close to 10, especially in the first episode where several complete scenes were removed. Spanneraol (talk) 20:56, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

@Spanneraol: First, the Bleeding Cool link you are referencing is citing the EW article, which is what we use in the article. Regardless, to be clear, this To accommodate commercials, 10 minutes out of each episode had to be cut is not a quote from Johns, but Bleeding Cool's words. And looking back to the original EW source, their words (again not a Johns' quote) are Johns is pretty excited about even if it means cutting about 10 minutes out of the first two episodes to accommodate the network's commercials. Both use Johns quote which is We had to lift some scenes out of 1 and 2. It was painful to do, but I was thrilled it was going to be on broadcast as well as streaming. Now I have not seen the DC Universe versions so you may be correct. But looking at the information we have and the original source (EW), the wording implies 10 minutes total, not 10 in each episode. As far as I saw, there was not another source that interviewed Johns in which he talked about the cut content to see if he is actually quoted with a number. But we can't use the Bleeding Cool source because they are pulling the info from the EW source which does not say what Bleeding Cool wrote. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:01, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
Ok so I quickly searched and this from TV Line and this from Decider (which is already in the article) might be helpful. As you said, if the DC Universe versions for both seemed 10 minutes longer, then let's add in these source and adjust the wording. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:04, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. web series

Hey, I'd like to mention Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Double Agent and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. : Academy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe page. Thinking maybe near the Team Thor section at Marvel Cinematic Universe#Outside media. What do you think? --Gonnym (talk) 23:57, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

@Gonnym: I think they have not been included already because they are individual marketing tactics specific to the series. The same could be said for the Audi commercials made with Holland and J.B. Smoove for Homecoming. Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker, but it is a marketing campaign specific to Homecoming. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:01, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

Law & Order: Organized Crime

I noticed that you moved the article Law & Order: Organized Crime to draftspace. However, it meets the requirements at WP:TVSERIES, because that guideline states that a television series is not eligible for an article until its scheduling as an ongoing series has been formally confirmed by a television network and [if] it has been announced at an entity's upfront presentation as being scheduled and advanced to series, both of which are true for the series. If you believe it does not meet these criteria feel free to respond here. TheTVExpert (talk) 22:02, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

True, but it has yet to begin filming. I've seen more and more editor support for implementing the same spirit of WP:NFF for television series, in that, even if series have been ordered and scheduled by a network, it is best to wait for the series to have articles once filming has actually begun. And even more so, given all that is still happening with COVID-19, things are more up in the air for networks than "normal" in past years. Something could happen that pushes the series to premiere in 2021 instead of the fall because they can't start filming when they planned. So it's best to build the article in the draftspace and then move it back once it has been confirmed filming has begun. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:57, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Makes sense completely. Also, it is likely very early on in development, if only one cast member is known, so it would make sense to wait until at least more information is available, if not waiting until filming has begun. TheTVExpert (talk) 16:23, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Exactly. I believe I remember seeing that the intended writer (showrunner maybe?) has already been fired, so things are definitely still in flux in my opinion. Best to wait it out some as I said until filming starts later this year. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:30, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

The Flash (season 6)

An editor, user:86.15.250.109 went through the The Flash (season 6) episode page and the corresponding TV show's character page and moved the characters of Chester P. Runk and Sue Dearbon from recurring characters to guest characters on the grounds that they only made 3 appearances throughout season 6. I know that recurring characters have to have 4+ appearances to be considered as such, but is this editor in the right for doing this? I don't know about Dearbon, but Runk is going to be a main character in season 7, and I feel like the show runners credited him as a recurring character despite the fact that he only had 3 appearances. I could use some help in determining how to proceed with this because I don't want to risk making a wrongful edit. Blazewing16 (talk) 02:38, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

It seems like they made correct edits, but you should look at whatever sources on the actor castings say to their role and weigh that against how many appearances they actually made. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:35, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Wayback Machine - again

Thanks for your earlier help on this subject. Do you know if an article that is no longer to be found on the Web can still be utilized via the WayBack Machine if one has the PDF file along with the now dead IP address from where it originated? Stretchrunner (talk) 14:59, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

You can search the site to see if there is an archive made of what you are looking for even if it is no longer live. You might also want to try http://archive.is/ as well. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:36, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

G5

Hi! You've nominated a number of categories such as Category:Marvel Cinematic Universe film characters for speedy deletion as WP:G5, but they aren't eligible, as they user was not blocked when he created them (unless I'm missing something?). Would you kindly remove those tags? – that would help to reduce the G5 backlog. Many thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:45, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

@Justlettersandnumbers: The user is a sock and was blocked because of that. So per the third bullet, G5 is correct, no? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:52, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
No, Favre1fan93 – that applies to sockpuppets, not sockmasters, and specifically only to pages "created via the sock account after the block or ban of the primary account". Dietic was blocked on 28 June, Category:Marvel Cinematic Universe film characters was created on 27 June, it isn't eligible. There's also the thing that G5 doesn't apply to "categories that may be useful or suitable for merging", I don't know if that might apply here. I think it's best to revert those nominations. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:50, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
@Justlettersandnumbers: Dietic is a puppet, not a master, so per your further explanation, again isn't G5 acceptable? And per your second point, about categories that may be useful or suitable for merging, that would not apply here on the basis that there is consensus per past CfDs that character categories for comic-based television series should not exist, unless articles about the specific versions appearing in the shows exists. And there are no articles for any characters of the series nominated, so they should be deleted, not merged to something else. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:34, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
OK, they might then be eligible. You'd need to update the deletion templates with the username of the master rather than the puppet (I'm not seeing where that is documented). If that editor was blocked before they were created then they can be deleted. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:38, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
Updated to the master. Just for reference, requesting G5 with Twinkle and it asking for the banned user doesn't clearly indicate that you should be putting a master. Hence I put Dietic, because they became blocked as a puppet and at that point they were banned. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:23, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, Favre1fan93 – they're gone. And yes, I agree that it's not immediately obvious that it needs to be the master. If someone puts the sock instead it's usually easy to see who the master is, but I didn't manage to do that for this one – hence this long discussion. Thank you for your patience, on to the next ... Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:17, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
@Justlettersandnumbers: Thank you for clarifying all this and ultimately helping get these cats deleted. I agree, while the user was blocked for abusing multiple accounts, it was not initially clear who the master was, hence all the confusion. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:36, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

Why did you revert my edits?

I understand the rumour one, but for the release date, I added an article which contained a French Disney PDF detailing releases for the next few years. You also reverted my spelling corrections for some reason? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lostlibtech (talkcontribs)

Obi-Wan does not have a rumored 2022 date. The French document only said it was coming. I also removed the AFC request because the series cannot be moved until it has started filming. The spelling errors simply got caught in the revert, and I didn't refix them; that was my error. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:57, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Fair enough. I'm new to Wikipedia so thanks for the info. I'll try make sure I have better sources next time :)

receiving reception

Hey there, I saw you reverted "gained" back to "received" in the lead's for Phase 1->3 (MCU). I wasn't too sure about "gained" myself, but "receiving reception" sounds a tad redundant to me. Cheers! SassyCollins (talk) 16:24, 2 August 2020 (UTC)

"Receiving" is the better verb. I don't believe there's any repetition, but "reception" could become "response". - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:55, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
"response" it is then, thanks. SassyCollins (talk) 18:10, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

Question about image files

Hey, I noticed you are fixing image names (good job on that), and was wondering if you're going for any specific style? Asking as there are files such as File:Adrian Pasdar as Glenn Talbot Graviton.jpg and others such as File:Chan Ho Yin in "Girl in the Flower Dress".jpg which name the episode the image is taken from, but not the actor, and File:Samuel L. Jackson in "0-8-4".jpg which names the actor and episode, but not the character. --Gonnym (talk) 11:34, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Yes. So I was doing some of this late last night so I did miss/under think some. But what I was feeling was the following: images (SHIELD or not) that are used as character images on articles such as File:Karen Gillan as Nebula.png on Nebula (character), I was feeling a format of "ACTOR NAME as CHARACTER NAME.filetype". For images of CGI characters or items and the like, such as File:Hive in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.png, I was thinking "CHARACTER/OBJECT in MEDIA.filetype". And then for images being used on television episode articles in the infobox, I was thinking "IMAGE SUBJECT[S] in EPISODE TITLE.filetype". So yeah, the SLJ one should be altered to be File:Nick Fury in "0-8-4".jpg. And then looking at some of the remaining images in the MCU character images cat, there are some being used on film articles to highlight VFX such as File:Old Peggy.jpg, that I'm kind of leaving as is as long as they are descriptive enough. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:00, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
OK, I now understand the pattern. I'll wait for you to finish and then see if you missed anything to point out. Regarding the posters at Category:Marvel Cinematic Universe film posters, there are secondary film posters such as File:Guardians of the Galaxy Groot movie poster.jpg and File:Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia in Black Panther.jpg, which state what film they belong to, and then there are ones like File:Chris Pratt as Star-Lord poster.jpg and File:Letitia Wright as Shuri.jpeg, which don't. I think the one with the film name is in this case better. --Gonnym (talk) 14:52, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
I'll try to look over more today. I can let you know when I'm done, and see if you have more thoughts. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:00, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
@Gonnym: For the posters, I think "poster" has to be included in the name. What are your thoughts on "ACTOR as CHARACTER in FILM poster.filetype"? So the Lupita one would be "Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia in Black Panther poster", and Groot's would become "Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy poster". - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:09, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
Except for the posters, I think I'm set with my name changes. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:20, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
That style works and makes it easier to find in a search. --Gonnym (talk) 16:50, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

List of issues so far (Did only Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.):

--Gonnym (talk) 20:18, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

So for a few of these (the Gravitonium and Ghost Rider in AoS ones), though they are used in the episode infobox, I worded them as such because, while they represent the episode, they are not specific to it, in the event the images would ever be used elsewhere. Many of what you've listed makes sense and I'll try to get through some and will put a strikethrough as I go (and perhaps a comment below too). Also I forgot to mention, I'm not doing anything with the Agent Carter episode images, because I feel like pretty much all of them should be deleted because they don't really support any commentary in the episode articles. That's a separate project I'll want to figure out, but thought you should know my thinking so you don't bring those up. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:47, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, I noticed that Agent Carter wasn't done, which is why I held off on those, though if they aren't deleted anytime soon, there is no harm in correcting their names. --Gonnym (talk) 09:06, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
@Gonnym: Okay so I've hit pretty much most of these, plus all the ones in the poster cat. Just a few comments for the remaining. I'd like to leave the Gravitonium name as is for the reasons I said above. For all the Ghost Rider images, I'm thinking the following:
For the Inhumans one, I'm thinking maybe File:Terrigenesis scene in "What They Become".png might work? Because it's less about the characters in the image, than the Terrigen crystal. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:06, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
All above sound good. Some additional questions:
Will go over the rest of the television categories before re-checking the film ones. --Gonnym (talk) 16:16, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Great, I'll make those Ghost Rider changes. I don't feel strongly about adding in quotes for the title card files. They are uniform with each other, which is ok in my eyes, but if you feel they should, I can make the moves. I had included "film" in the Black Panther poster thinking more so about Black Panther Party if there could ever be a poster for them uploaded. For the films simply named after characters, I can't seen any other reasons or outside instances where they would need to further disambiguate them to indicate it's the film poster. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:33, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
I think the 3 episode title cards should have, as we use quotes in all other episode files. Regarding the Black Panther file, if the dab is kept, then the file should be File:Black Panther (film) poster.jpg following the article Black Panther (film) like File:The Avengers (2012 film) poster.jpg. --Gonnym (talk) 20:18, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Done with the TV series section:
--Gonnym (talk) 21:11, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
OK, I think I've gone over all the films. I've created the list at User:Gonnym/sandbox/tests2 for less cluttering of your talk page. --Gonnym (talk) 17:42, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
@Gonnym: Great. I'll look at the few remaining here we haven't touched/discussed and then your sandbox list. I'm okay continuing discussing files here, even if you have them listed in your sandbox if that works for you. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:11, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
I've updated the list with the restored posters. --Gonnym (talk) 07:04, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
Ok. I'm going to hold off on those probably for a little bit until those files aren't being examined as much from the deletion review and the new TV MOS discussion. Let things settle a bit. If you did not tell, I worked on a few of the remaining ones here. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:27, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 7) question

Is there any reason not to list Byron Mann among the notable guest cast for the season? --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:13, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Per established criteria for the guests, it is any actor/character who has previously appeared in past AoS seasons or MCU media. That has been established since the season 1 article in an attempt to keep the guest list from being a laundry list of every guest character that appears throughout the season. Full guests can be found at the character list, and in the episode articles. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:16, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Wayback Machine

Is it working for you? Because it's not for me. I'm not sure if the site is erratic, or it's a personal net problem (most sites work for me). I ask you because you added this archive to Draft:Legends of Tomorrow (season 6), but when I click the archive link it says, "The Wayback Machine has not archived that URL." --Kailash29792 (talk) 07:42, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

I get that page sometime after I make archives. For this one in particular, it was added to the main Legends page and LoC page, so I just copied it to the draft. I didn't look at it before doing so, so it's possible it didn't archive correctly. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:39, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

DC Universe (The CW)/Arrowverse TV series title cards

Hi Favre1fan93 & Alex 21,
The title cards that you or Alex 21 had added for the image parameter on the television infobox are being replaced by logos by a disruptive editor who claimed logos are better than title cards and that title cards are frown upon. — YoungForever(talk) 04:06, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

YoungForever, title cards restored, cheers. The editor Dannybaby1234 and their corresponding logged out IP have been warned. -- /Alex/21 04:27, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

Can you find a source stating that Bear McCreary cameos as the roller skater in A Trout in the Milk? I wanted to add it but not if I can't find a source. --Gonnym (talk) 18:02, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

He did? I wasn't aware of that. Let me see. I know the last "Live with Lil" live stream had him on. I haven't watch it yet, but maybe it's mentioned there. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:35, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
So Bear put up this video recently. The roller skater from that episode appears at 3:17 in. Pausing it and looking at the person (having seen Bear up to this point in the video), I don't know if that's him. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:58, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
That's the video I saw which made me notice him. I saw him on Elizabeth Henstridge video and he looks exactly the same. --Gonnym (talk) 19:16, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
Hmm. I'll do some digging, but it might not be him. Just looking at the episode's IMDb and it's entry on the MCU wiki, he's not listed there. Those two places usually are on top of things like this and a good indicator to look for reliable sources. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:21, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
Ok, so I asked him and it isn't him. Gonnym (talk) 01:01, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
Ah okay. Good thought though! I didn't remember thinking that was him upon first viewing, but I definitely see how you thought it was. It actually would have been really great if that was him. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:53, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Iain De Caestecker's involvement in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 7

Hello,

Regarding the TVLine article claiming that it was Iain De Caestecker's decision to leave most of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 7, I have two different and legitimate sources proving that the quote was misinterpreted. Please see them below.

[1]

[2]

So in both articles, the showrunners state that the reason for De Caestecker's absence from most of the final season "had more to do with the schedule, logistics" and that "there were conflicts, there were other jobs". Can you please take these into consideration when editing the "De Caestecker's absence" paragraph of the "Casting" section? Thank you.

Andrew.murray1992 (talk) 21:25, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Apologies for the initial lack of a talk page. I am new to Wikipedia and this is my first time editing pages. If you could be so kind as to let me know what you think on my talk page, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

AoS zoom call

Hey, I still think this bit should be at the series finale page and not the season article. It is pretty specifically about the one episode, and all the writing info for season 7 is not that specific so it really stands out. Also, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on what they said about the season being different if it was made during the pandemic because of course it would be, but if you did want to mention that somewhere else then I think a more appropriate place would actually be the analysis section at the series article as we talk about the series dealing with real world issues there and I think this would be a nice addition to that. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:51, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

Speaking first about the pandemic part, I think it's worth the mention because I don't think it would have been a given that things would have been different if they made it now in terms of the tone and content. As for the virtual meeting info, I felt like something regarding the ending of the season/series should be made at the season article, and the part about the virtual meeting seemed the most appropriate to cover it, but not go into specifics that are covered at the finale page. Both of those things work together with each other, hence why I felt the need to include them, and the writing section seemed acceptable to feature it. We could definitely add it to the analysis section on the main article, but I feel like it should still be at the season article. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:01, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
I still think it is out of place at the season article as we have it at the moment, but I haven't been able to take the time to properly work through all the info out there yet as I have been very busy with work, so I don't have a good suggestion for what to add if we are going to keep it there. - adamstom97 (talk) 03:55, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

Category:Films released during the COVID-19 pandemic

The reason why I created it is because there was a keyword from IMDb called "film released during covid 19", so I felt like creating the category. Besides, who knows how long the COVID-19 pandemic will go? And Unhinged, The New Mutants, Bill & Ted Face the Music, Peninsula, and Tenet are the first movies to be released during the pandemic.

Please state your reasoning on the category discussion page, not my talk. Thank you. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:41, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Hello Favre1fan93,

Regarding the page you reverted, for your information, regardless the referencing style is correct, the embedded references inside {{reflist}} breaks the Content translation tool (the references in the body disappears, and the embedded references causes this error). Is necessary to place the references to the body when translating (feel free to revert, but be informed about this). Thanks. --Amitie 10g (talk) 04:09, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

@Amitie 10g: Thank you for that info. As I see that tool is still in development, perhaps it should be brought to the attention of the people creating it that this is an error, because editors should not be altering the reference style of a page to get this tool to function. The tool should be able to handle all referencing styles. I see the article on the other Wiki is okay now. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:40, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Arrowverse name change?

The Arrowverse page has been moved and the new The CW promos are indeed promoting the new name. Is that the new name for us here? If so there are quite a bit updating of templates and categories so let me know. --Gonnym (talk) 07:55, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Official names don't always have to be the article title. Look at Bangalore, which is officially known as Bengaluru. One of you may move CWverse back to Arrowverse and include in the lead, "The Arrowverse, officially known as the CWverse". Kailash29792 (talk) 08:38, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure what official naming capacity it is, but I've moved the article back to Arrowverse per WP:COMMONNAME. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:18, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Batwoman (season 2)

Is it time to move it to the mainspace per this? For me it's already September 3, but due to time differences there may be date errors. --Kailash29792 (talk) 05:39, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

It's September 3 now for me. I think you can move it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:47, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: I think you can move the season 1 article too and split off the content from the main page. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:59, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
I tried that, but Brojam stopped it. His rationales were, "the draft is just a copy of the main article; also too soon per MOS:TVSPLIT" and "we need to work on the season 1 draft to not have it be a complete copy of the main article and make it ready for the mainspace". If you agree with him and feel more content must be added, feel free to do so or provide me with refs. Because searching for refs is a herculean task for me, given there is no filtered search engine for reliable sources. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:15, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
Kailash29792, I completely support the S1 article in the mainspace, and have thus moved it. -- /Alex/21 14:35, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

The New Mutants

So it is a reliable source if Variety is quoting the creator from his own facebook account, but all others article that include more references are not reliable. Do you see what that sounds like? An article quoting from Facebook is considered reliable, but linking directly to that spesific post on facebook is not seen as a "realible source". 92.220.125.90 (talk) 22:12, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

See WP:SPS. "Exercise caution when using [self-published sources]: if the information in question is suitable for inclusion, someone else will probably have published it in independent reliable sources.". It is perfectly acceptable (and recommended) to cite an independent reliable source who themselves cite a self-published source, rather than cite the self-published source itself. Bmf 051 (talk) 22:17, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
So with a reliable source, then the edit is OK? In that case, what is considered a reliable source what articles are concerned? 92.220.125.90 (talk) 22:27, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
No, because it doesn't adequately paraphrase the content (while the text that you're trying to replace does). See WP:Close paraphrasing: "Quotations should be used sparingly, typically only if the information within cannot be conveyed otherwise." In the current version of the article, the information is conveyed just fine without the direct quotation. And by using excessive quotes and details, you're making this a WP:NPOV issue. Please feel free to take the discussion to my talk page, as I don't want to disturb Favre1fan93, if they are not interested in having this discussion on their talk page. Bmf 051 (talk) 22:50, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

70.176.125.205

This ip address that you reverted several hours ago is trying to get Batwoman (TV series) to be fully page protected. Accused me of having personal agenda and impersonating an admin, all baseless acccusations. I reverted them yesterday and you reverted several hours ago for adding WP:UGC. — YoungForever(talk) 20:42, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

@YoungForever: I've responded to the RPP as well. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:15, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
The ip address still claimed WP:UGC is allowed. There was a long discussion last year at Talk:Batwoman (TV series)/Archive 1#Rotten Tomatoes Audience score and there wasn't a consensus to even include WP:UGC. Unfortunately, the article is fully page protected by an admin for a week. — YoungForever(talk) 23:02, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Hydra

Why re-moved article [2]? the article is not just about comics, covered also movies and other. Name of "Hydra (comics)" is wrong and confusing. Name of "Hydra (Marvel)" is more accuracy, covered all Marvel works. Besides, why are you doing a circus: [3], what it is? Subtropical-man ( | en-2) 22:47, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Please see WP:PRIMARY. The article's primary topic is that of the comic book organization. Per WP:NCCOMICS, the proper dab is "comics". That is not incorrect. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:07, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

List of Marvel Cinematic Universe film actors

Hi Favre1fan93, I don't really have an axe to grind as I am just the pending reviewer but why would we remove the young actors from the list? It's my understanding that the notability guidelines only apply at the article topic or reference level. For example none of the emergency workers in Emergency workers killed in the September 11 attacks will pass WP:BIO or WP:N. But they do not need to be notable because the subject of the article is notable. They are simply facts supporting the article topic. Those young actors and actresses factually portrayed characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. DavidDelaune (talk) 11:06, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

They are not the "main" versions of these characters. Past consensus at least for that article has been established to exclude young actors from films in which the "main"/adult version also appears. These actors are mentioned on the respective film article's cast sections as the list is meant to provide readers with a visual overview of character and actor appearances. The edit by the IP that added the young actors was also unsourced. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:47, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Your edit Template:MCU cast indicator isn't bug free

Hey, your edit to Template:MCU cast indicator is a bit broken. Something isn't closed properly there. Look at the previous version of the template and look at the doc, see how the green background goes all the way down. In the latest version it stops right after the example. Tried looking for the bug but couldn't find it and no time to look deeper. --Gonnym (talk) 16:13, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks. I've reverted the edit, and will try to figure out what I did wrong. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:20, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
@Gonnym: I think it had something to do with removing parameters 5-12 in the switch checks for the "else" of the if. But I'm not sure why that would be the issue though. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:38, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
I'll take a look at the template later this week as I don't like how it's duplicating stuff. I'll see if this can be more streamlined, preferably, even a wrapper of the original template so it won't duplicate anything. But don't know yet as I haven't looked into it. Might not be possible. --Gonnym (talk) 16:45, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
Sure. With my knowledge of template coding, this was the best outcome I could think of, but would feel there could be a streamlined solution. Essentially, I'm just looking for it to divide the list into two columns when 5 or more indicators are used. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:49, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
Would something like {{div col}} work? El Millo (talk) 17:14, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
That might. Based on the documentation, it didn't look like it would achieve the division I wanted. But I've just implemented it in the sandbox, and you can see it in the testcases too. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:23, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
I've implemented the div col version. I believe it should be okay, but let me know if either of you notice anything not appearing as expected. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:55, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Delayed (again!)

Can you please move Supergirl (season 6) back to the draft space? It seems filming hasn't yet begun. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:29, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Also pinging Alex 21 to enter a consensus. --Kailash29792 (talk) 14:17, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Hm. I'd say keep it, so that readers can find information on the multiple COVID-delays, as a Season 6 article would be the sole place for such information. The article clearly meets GNG. Flash's S7 article is due to move tomorrow, and LOT's was due to move on the 5th, but I'd say move that to the mainspace as well, for the same reason as Supergirl's article. (Also, now that we have the taskforce, these discussions should probably be started there now.) -- /Alex/21 14:22, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
I would say keep Supergirl s6, but wait on Flash and LoT until we know they've actually started filming. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:44, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Works for me, easy done. -- /Alex/21 03:06, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

LoT has begun filming (https://www.instagram.com/p/CGGIEc0JJET/) but Angelcupcakeanna created the mainspace article as a duplicate to the draft. Can you please transfer content from the draft to the mainspace article cos I'm sleepy? Kailash29792 (talk) 22:16, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

damn sorry i didn't realise there was a draft that would've saved me a lot of time lmao. i thought i knew how to find out if there was already a draft version of the page going but i guess not rip in peace. Angelcupcakeanna (talk) 22:22, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
Angelcupcakeanna, never mind. Only some content needs transferring. Favre, don't do a round robin move. I'm awake and I'll fix it myself. Kailash29792 (talk) 22:28, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: I see you added a hist merge request. That's what I was going to say. @Angelcupcakeanna: no worries, it was done in good faith. Usually, there are redirect templates that indicate a draft article exits. But it could also be useful to do a quick search when it's a media property like this, to see if a draft article exists. If prepped correctly, you would just need to put in the search bar "Draft:[TITLE HERE]" to see if one comes up. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:39, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

Yes, I am aware there were page overlaps. What I was referring to is there was no time overlap which is the requirement for the sock policy. The user just seemed to create an account to track their contributions, which is completely allowed and not deceptive. Please see WP:EWLO. That said, I'm not justifying any edits, I'm just saying SPI can't handle it. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 13:42, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Aircraft names

MOS:ITALICS: Named, specific vessels: proper names given to: Aircraft: the Spirit of St. Louis. The "Bus" is not a type of aircraft, but the specific name of that aircraft. --Gonnym (talk) 16:21, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

@Gonnym: Hmm, I guess I only ever really associated ship vessel names in italics, and not air/space craft names. Also, the Bus hasn't been italicized for so long, it just seem correct. I'll restore the italics. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:57, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Don't worry, it's not like I knew this before I edited it. I knew ships were in italics so I went to see if there was anything about aircrafts and learned that today :) --Gonnym (talk) 18:02, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

The Mandalorian

Hey, I haven't finished the work that I was hoping to get done on the new Mandalorian season articles, but I have them in a place where we can make the split and then further updates can be made once I have the time. For now I haven't got to the marketing/reception stuff for season 1 or the themes section at the main page, so I just have those as is. I am also sitting on a bunch of stuff to work through for season 1 eventually. Before I finalise the split over at Talk:The Mandalorian I was wondering if you wanted to take a look at what I have first? My proposed new series article is here. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:51, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

@Adamstom.97: Sure, I'll give a look over them in the next few days. If I haven't responded back here, just give me a ping in case I forget. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:59, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
@Adamstom.97: I've made a few small edits to the article, but here are my bigger notes:
Mandalorian portrayers should probably be mentioned in the cast and character sections instead of development, and in doing that, add Misty Rosas for Kuiil.
Directors in development should be contained to the season articles.
Quickly compared the music section on the new main, and season 1 draft, and I think we can remove some of the repetition. Really delineate what was season 1 stuff and overall series stuff.
And then yeah, figuring out what to do with the theme section and moving much of that to season 1 probably.
If we touch on these, then I think just making sure everything at the current main article is definitely represented either in this new version, or either of the season drafts, then we can make some moves. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:06, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Also, I think the season drafts should use "traditional" bullet listed main/co-starring, recurring, and guest sections, not prose. The season 1 draft also needs the guest cast copied over. I won't do anything until you've had a chance to respond. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:10, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
I'm not convinced about the on-set performers in the cast section, we usually only mention them as part of production/effects. I thought having an overview of the directors at the series article would be nice, but don't feel strongly about that one. I thought I had done a pretty good job of having a general series approach and then a specific season approach for the music, but happy if you have further adjustments to suggest there. I was thinking of maybe reworking the themes stuff as an analysis section at the season article, but I wanted to sort out some writing/critical response stuff first just to see how much of the themes stuff still makes sense then. I did go through the main article to make sure I had everything, and I think I do except for stuff that I intentionally left out, let me know if you see anything that you think should be included. For the cast, I moved away from the bullet points because there is only one regular actor and no guests that would meet our usual criteria, but did you have a different guest criteria in mind? - adamstom97 (talk) 08:36, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
I think if we make a "casting" section similar to what exists now, I think that will work better for the Pascal/performer stuff in "development" and we can add Misty Rosas there. Yeah, I think directors should stay to the season articles, because with these splits, it seems most appropriate at those articles. Understand about the themes, if that's a post-split task, that's fine. Just was noting to note it. I'm okay with the prose on the season articles, but season 1 should have the other Co-stars added to its prose. Let me look at Music, and I'll make some edits, which you can revert if you choose, so you can see what I think it should be. I'll also do a comb through of the existing article and make sure any of what you left out, I don't feel should be added. I'll hopefully get to that soon. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:57, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

@Adamstom.97: I've done my edits in your sandbox. Let me know what you think, but I'm happy with the way things shaped up. The one thing I did say before, which I held off of now, was how to put the s1 guest list into the s1 draft. I moved over the casting prose, but held back on converting the list to prose because I wasn't actually sure what we might want to do there. And one other thing, with the new casting section I created, it in theory would include any s2 guests who are recurring co-stars like s1. Since we don't know if any of the returning Star Wars characters are, I held off on that (and you have them in the cast/characters section). - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:03, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

@Adamstom.97: Hey, I'm assuming you're busy, but just wanted to make sure you knew I did some work in your sandbox and the draft(s). I think if you felt ok with the changes, we could make the moves happen. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:58, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
Hey, I did see you had done some work but haven't been able to take a look at it yet sorry. Hopefully I will have some time to review your changes this weekend and then come back with any other thoughts. I think we are on track to make the split before season 2 begins since the drafts don't need to be perfect yet, but there are a couple things that I would like to be sure about before we make the move such as the cast section. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:45, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
Okay, I think we are mostly ready for the move to the mainspace, I just want to sort out the casting stuff first. At the moment we only have one starring cast member which is what has made things a bit different than usual, but it will be interesting to see if that is still the case in season two or if any of the others become full starring. For now, I think this will work: keep the main cast list as it is in prose form, but only discuss Pascal in the main casting section since I think we should still stick to starring cast members only where possible for the main page; at the season articles we go to our list format and have Starring, Recurring co-stars, and Other co-stars as the headers. For the season articles we can include the Child under Starring since the main header is "Cast and characters", and we can expand the casting section to include other co-stars that may not be recurring. I also think we could include a paragraph on cameos in the casting section. I'm going to go through and start making these changes so we can see what they look like, let me know what you think. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:15, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
@Adamstom.97: I feel like the main article's casting should maybe still have the recurring co-stars there, but let's wait until season 2 has fully released to reevaluate. Perhaps it becomes co-stars who appear across both/multiple seasons? I'm going to move what I had to my sandbox if we want to grab it again. I agree with the plan on the season articles for "Other co-stars" and cameos in the casting. If you want to get that all done before we move, that's fine, but I think these can move if you're happy (knowing too we still have the themes section to figure out). - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:58, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
I think we are in a good place to move, and we can continue to make changes in the mainspace. The big thing for me was making sure we were happy with what the new series article is going to be, so if you are all good with that then I say lets make the moves. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:24, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Yes I'm good! Let me know if you need help with the draft moves. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:35, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
All sorted, now we can carry on with editing in the mainspace. Thanks for the help! - adamstom97 (talk) 08:02, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Otherwise, what happened could happen again, as a passing editor like myself will not realize the same editor is removing their own comments. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:05, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Do it correctly

Nominate it if you want it gone. Emptying out something to get it deleted is not how you're supposed to do it.★Trekker (talk) 20:58, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

Also, do you people who want the category deleted seriously think there are no character redirects that don't go to lists?★Trekker (talk) 21:02, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
Maybe tagging the redirect with {{R from incomplete disambiguation}} and redirecting to the dab page would make more sense? --Gonnym (talk) 22:38, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
The redirects in question are better suited to going to the in media articles/sections for each character where it specifically talks about their MCU appearances and also has links to created character articles. Iron Man (Marvel Cinematic Universe) going to Iron Man in other media#Marvel Cinematic Universe where I see info on all the films Stark has been in (including the 2008 film), plus a link to the MCU Stark article is helpful to a reader than going to Ironman. What that means for any "R from..." templates I couldn't tell you, but these redirects, plus categorizing them in just the "MCU redirects" cat, seems correct. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:43, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Wait, why wouldn't Iron Man (Marvel Cinematic Universe) redirect to Tony Stark (Marvel Cinematic Universe)? El Millo (talk) 23:07, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
@Facu-el Millo: "Iron Man (Marvel Cinematic Universe)" can also mean Iron Man (2008 film). "Iron Man (Marvel Cinematic Universe character)" exists and redirects to the Stark article. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:31, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

Lateef Crowder

Why don't you consider the Mandalorian end credits a valid source for his return for season 2? If I simply cited them incorrectly, why did you revert the whole edit instead of fixing my citation? 107.77.210.220 (talk) 16:46, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Hello

Greetings! More than a year has passed since the premiere of Avengers: Endgame and the question arises, will the article about Production of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame be finalized and put forward for GA? AaronSprouse (talk) 06:07, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Sorry

Hi, I'm the user you messaged about editing the "List of television series based on DC Comics publications" article. I apologize for removing the sections about BizarroTV and Green Arrow and the Canaries, I was unaware that there has to be an explicit source that states the shows are dead. I think we all know that they're dead by now, but do we really have to wait until some source bothers to make a passing comment about them being dead? What if the studios never do? Do they just stay on "in development" forever? 174.119.255.90 (talk) 07:01, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

TV development takes time, so we have to be somewhat lenient in regards to keeping things that have not been updated in a while. And both the Canaries and BizarroTV have not been announced for very long, so they should stay for now. Good benchmarks to reevaluate for both would be by the next Upfronts for the CW for Canaries, and perhaps at least the middle of 2021 for BizarroTV once DC Universe has fully folded into HBO Max for its series. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:27, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

Ms. Marvel cast

If you edited the cast for the Ms. Marvel page, note that Azher Usman does not exist. His name is Azhar with an A, he has a wikipedia page if you want to check it out. Marvel made a typo in their announcement/article.

You can't assume that. It is possible, but we should wait until another reliable source confirms a role, or we see onscreen credits. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:47, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
