April 2019 edit

Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Medellín (song), have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Ss112 16:29, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for August 27 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Enter Air, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Macedonia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Air Transat and variants edit

There is a good reason to list the variants separate from the regular aircraft. Wikipedia is supposed to be for a general audience not only for people who know all about any particular aircraft. So having things like Airbus A310-300 which sends you to Airbus A310#Variants does not help the general reader. So providing both links allow the reader to go read either the article on the Airbus A310 or if they already know about it they can go to the mor specific section. Your changes to Poznań–Ławica Airport edit

Hello there, please note that most of your changes to Poznań–Ławica Airport had to be undone for guideline violations:
1) You cannot change the layout of the destination table at will, we have rules how these are supposed to look like throughout all articles. For example the use of commas is a standard, as well as the spacing for easier editing. You cannot change or remove this.
2) It is correct that Lufthansa CityLine operates to Poznań, however we no longer list operating carriers or subbrands since a change of guidelines a few years ago. We only list the main brand under which the flight is operated, which is Lufthansa. Which carrier operates it for them is no longer relevant for our lists.
Please refer to WP:Aviation for questions or WP:AIRPORTS and WP:AIRPORTS-CONTENT for our guidelines. Best regards.

Your changes to brand names edit

Please note that our concensus is to NOT use branded spelling or layout designs throughout our articles. Writing "W!zzair" or "oneworld" is not allowed and will be undone based on our layout guidelines. Its Wizzair and oneworld for us. Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.217.122.117 (talk) 14:09, 1 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your changes to image captions edit

You recently started adding captions to aircraft images stating where they were taken, e. g. on approach to airport x. Please note that this is NOT wanted nor part of our guidelines. These images are purely illustrational to depict the airline's fleets, thats why we neither state location nor year and specifically use images without background. Our guidelines also explicitly state that we are NOT an aircraft spotter page. Therefore we started to remove your additions - please refrain from adding any more. Best regards.

Unless you can get them from a reliable source, not a user-generated website, do not upload album or single covers edit

I could set up an account on eBay right now with a fanmade cover for a Taylor Swift song as the item picture. I could even print that out, put it in the appropriate sleeve, and make it look convincing. If that sounds far-fetched to you, fans have literally done this before. Unless they're inappropriate items, eBay listings are not fact-checked and removed because it's a fanmade cover. For these kinds of things, it's an unchecked market and it's a risk people take buying things on there. You need to locate a reliable source for cover images. I've seen about 10 different covers over the past few years for Getaway Car, some were even eBay listings. Funny how they're always "Brazilian promotional singles", isn't it? Don't upload covers if you don't have a reliable, NON-user-generated website for them. That includes Discogs, third-party sellers on Amazon, and especially eBay. Don't revert again when someone has a concern about the validity of an image you've uploaded. Thanks. Ss112 08:11, 11 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Lana Del Rey - Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass (official album cover).jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Lana Del Rey - Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass (official album cover).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

May 2020 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to change genres without discussion or sources, as you did at The Night Is Still Young (Nicki Minaj song), you may be blocked from editing. SummerPhDv2.0 17:16, 17 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Additionally, this edit (another unsourced/undiscussed genre change) is -- like most of your edits -- not a minor edit and should not be marked as one. More to the point, your edit summary is deceptive, dismissing your genre change as a correction of formatting. Please be sure that any change to meaning is not marked as "minor" and that your edit summaries accurately reflect what you are changing. - SummerPhDv2.0 17:24, 17 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi! First of all, I can stop marking these edits as minor ones if you would like me to. However, with my most recent edit on Nicki Minaj's "The Night Is Still Young", I did provide sources for the added genres. I didn't add them to the infobox, but they were all in the "Composition" section of the article. Third of all, I re-added one of the genres to the infobox in one of my recent edits on the "End Game" page, however, there was also a source to back up that genre and, in a way, I did correct the formatting, since the edit before mine caused the genres to appear as "{{hlist|Hip hop|R&B" in the infobox. I do agree that I could've added the information about the genre to my edit summary, though.
Also, could you expand on how you'd want me to improve? You mentioned that my edits are done without discussion, but how would you want me to improve on that? Should I create a new section on articles' talk pages where I discuss the edits to genres before doing them? Thanks in advance! EnjoyingMyProblems (talk) 18:58, 17 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
From looking a bit more deeply, it looks like the edit you made was reverting a previous editor's unexplained genre changes (and flawed formatting). As your edit summary didn't make that clear, it looked like your were changing genres (rather than revering an unexplained change) while trying to pass it off as a mere formatting fix. On that one, I certainly judged you too quickly. Sorry about that.
A bit of background: Wikipedia has an on-going problem with "genre warriors". For whatever reasons, they are fairly obsessed with changing genres in song/album/artist/film/etc. articles to match their personal opinions. Wikipedia articles are intended to reflect what reliable sources say about a subject, not what a random Wikipedia editor thinks about a subject. Genres given in a reliable source are preferred. Otherwise, we fall back on discussion: consensus established on the talk page.
In this particular article, we have a good deal of disruption by a recurring genre warrior.
Long story short: Avoid adding/removing/changing genres unless you are citing reliable sources for the changes. Use edit summaries to explain why you are making the changes you are making, especially any changes to meaning. Avoid marking any changes to meaning as "minor".

Hi! I'd like to inform you that I did provide sources to back up my edits on the Ray Of Light page (this and this article). I usually don't include sources / citations in the infobox and put them in "Music and lyrics" or "Critical reception" categories, which was also the case here.
Yes, I see the sources you provided. I don't think they support adding the genres that you added. The first thing about album genres is that they should be explicitly about the album, not derived from multiple song genres. The second problem is that you added genres not found in your sources. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:57, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
