Time-saving links II

Sometimes you may be editing an article and want to link a plural to its singular form. For example, to link "Fred Foo was famous for his study of puddles" to puddle, you could link it like so: puddles. However, you can save time instead by writing puddles.

This also works with adjectives (for example, Japanese), regular verbs in present or past tense (for example, dances or danced) and any other suffixes or prefixes.

However, this method does not work with spelling changes, for example: tryied does not work; you have to enter tried. It also does not work with possessives, so you may want to use Fred Foo's to get Fred Foo's. Using Fred Foo's will look like Fred Foo's, i.e. the possessive suffix unlinked, in plain text, and black instead of blue.

Note: if a redirect exists from puddles to puddle you don't actually need to do any piping, it's fine to link puddles too.

Speedy deletion nomination of Deepstep (musician) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Deepstep (musician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -- HindWikiConnect 01:45, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

March 2018 edit

Hello, Dileshwar Singh Patil. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but  The DuchAz has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11. "This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION." These must be rewritten from scratch from "reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject." See WP:RS.

Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Users who do so may be blocked from editing. Promotional content is vigorously deleted. Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising#Typical signs of blatant advertising contains information about content to avoid. For more information on content that may be perceived as promotional, click User:Dlohcierekim/promo.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources . Template:cite has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template references at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there.

Proposed deletion of Joseph Awinongya Jr edit

The article Joseph Awinongya Jr has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:TOOSOON

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. reddogsix (talk) 20:45, 21 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

December 2019 edit

Hello Dileshwar Singh Patil. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Draft:Daniel Etim Effiong, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Dileshwar Singh Patil. The template Paid can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: . If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Lapablo (talk) 19:41, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is your only warning; if you move a page maliciously again, as you did at Draft:Daniel Etim Effiong, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Lapablo (talk) 04:57, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Last Warning!!! edit

Hi Dileshwar,

Once again you have moved the page Draft:Daniel Etim Effiong to mainspace without allowing it go through WP:AFC as earlier instructed. You cannot move a page you created to mainspace without proper review via AFC because you feel you have fixed the issued. You have taken the first step to make disclosure as to receiving payment to create Daniel Etim Effiong which i have seen on your talk page, Paid editors MUST also provide links on their Wikipedia user page to all active accounts at websites where they advertise paid Wikipedia-editing services. Once that is done feel free to ping me. Lapablo (talk) 09:02, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Lapablo: I had previously pinged you with regards to the draft article and you chose to ignore me even after the disclosure I made you still left this comment instead of further accessing the article you went on and hastily gave me warnings about failing to disclose WP:PAID. To answer your last question I had previously read WP:PAID and had also thoroughly gone through this... and it states "the minimum required is that you disclose your employer, client, and affiliation" of which I have done so and unfortunately I do not advertise paid Wikipedia-editing services. Regards Dileshwar Singh Patil (talk) 16:17, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Dileshwar Singh Patil I'm sorry about that, i may have missed your pings. Kindly do not move the page to mainspace again without the article being reviewed by an WP:AFC reviewer, someone will get to the page soon. Lapablo (talk) 20:03, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Lapablo: Apology accepted. Uhm hey the draft still has the undisclosed payment maintenance template on it and not to mention both of your comments which in turn affect the reviewing process and let's other reviewers think I never disclosed. Please fix the issues since I've now fully disclosed. Thanks :) Dileshwar Singh Patil (talk) 07:49, 9 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello GSS. As per previous discussion with Lapablo. I do not have any active accounts at websites where I advertise paid Wikipedia-editing services. Dileshwar Singh Patil (talk) 08:00, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Then how people hire you to edit Wikipedia? GSS💬 10:03, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Mainly through social media. Quick question, how does Draft:Daniel Etim Effiong not satisfy WP:NACTOR when he is nominated for a major notable award (the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards) for his role in a film through this source? Dileshwar Singh Patil (talk) 13:37, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

So It means you advertise on social media to attract clients and you need to disclose links per WP:PAID, Regarding Draft:Daniel Etim Effiong see WP:NACTOR#1 and WP:ANYBIO#1. GSS💬 13:49, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@GSS: Do you mean disclose with links to my social media profile?... Oh and I had read that criteria before like the other ones. However he is not just an actor he also falls under WP:CREATIVE (being a film director) and easily passes it too. According to WP:ANYBIO#1 he passes due to "The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for such an award several times." - Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards are a well-known award ceremony. I really hope this isn't a case of ethnocentrism Dileshwar Singh Patil (talk) 15:34, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

No, ...nominated for such an award "several times" so, one nomination is no enough, the film he directed must be independently notable to satisfy WP:CREATIVE. Regarding the link to your social media, yes you need to disclose that link on your userpage. GSS💬 15:55, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@GSS: Majority of the films and series he has directed & acted on are notable as per WP:TVSHOW "television program is likely to be notable if it airs on a network of radio or television stations..."- Apart from that the subject meets GNG as he appears in reliable sources This Day...including others cited. I'm sorry GSS but I'm a bit skeptical about your review (as you are mainly a participant on Wikipedia:WikiProject India and not the Wikipedia:WikiProject Nigeria I think you might not be much of an expert on Nigerian media). I would love to hear opinions from our co-editors (including ones from the WikiProject Nigeria regarding Draft:Daniel Etim Effiong.
