Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Hutterites edit

Hello Dan. I am a significant contributor and editor to both the Mountain Lake, Minnesota and the Mountain Lake Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota articles. I would like to propose that we move the information you recently added to the Mountain Lake article to Mountain Lake Township. I think this would be the most appropriate in light of the fact that the Elmendorf Christian Community/colony is completely rural and no Hutterites reside in the city itself. Jsniessen (talk) 16:55, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

You wrote "Do so! I know something about Hutterites and Anabaptist in general, but nothing about Mountain Lake or Mountain Lake Township. - Dan Holsinger (talk) 11:43, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Dan. I will try to do so yet this week. Jsniessen (talk) 14:47, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Dan. I have completed incorporating (and enhancing) the Hutterite settlement material into the Mountain Lake Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota article as discussed. Please feel free to review and make any necessary corrections. It was nice working with you. Jsniessen (talk) 21:29, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Since you mentioned having knowledge about Hutterites, you just might want to tackle creating an article about Neuhof Hutterite Colony (also in Mountain Lake township) in a similar vein as your Elmendorf article. Jsniessen (talk) 21:34, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Amish into Amish life in the modern world. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:24, 4 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of John Schmid edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello. A tag has been placed on John Schmid requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. —Oluwa2Chainz »» (talk to me) 15:43, 3 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

February 2017 edit

Thank you for your edit to the disambiguation page Schumer. However, please note that disambiguation pages are not articles; rather, they are meant to help readers find a specific article quickly and easily. From the disambiguation dos and don'ts, you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry
    • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references

Ictus edit

Please note that disambiguation pages like Ictus are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory
  • Do not add articles to acronym or initials disambiguation pages unless the person or entity is widely known by that name (in which case it should be stated in the linked article).

Natzeret edit

I am afraid that you are wrong on Languages of Israel. In Hebrew the name of the town is "Natzeret", which is contracted to "Natzrat Illit" only when written together with the second word. Please review Hebrew grammar, specifically Construct_state#Hebrew. Debresser (talk) 20:43, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

No, you are wrong! "Natzrat" is what I always heard in Israel. Just listen to any YouTube video where they talk about Nazareth in Hebrew. Below is a link to just the first videos of many of such video I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pwc37c9hs0 and another one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfagDUM2LlY : you need not search for it, any video where they say Nazereth in Hebrew will tell you that it is "Natzrat". Just listen closely: They say "Natzrat" in any state of construction! Dan Holsinger (talk) 09:49, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
After listening to more videos I found one where they in deed also say "Natzeret". Maybe this is formally the correct form. Anyhow, most people seem to ignore this. In my experience actual spoken Hebrew is not infrequently different from what the official "correct" norm is. Maybe this depends on with what kind of people you deal with normally. The people I spoke to - not particualr religious people - always said "Natzrat" as far as I remember. Dan Holsinger (talk) 10:16, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I can easily believe that Natzrat is being used by some, as short for Natzrat Illit, which is the name of the Jewish city located above the historical Natzeret. Debresser (talk) 13:19, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Gut geraten!
