Little context in Thrillville: Off The Rails edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Thrillville: Off The Rails, by The Fifth Horseman (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Thrillville: Off The Rails is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Thrillville: Off The Rails, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 14:13, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

You should review our inclusion notability guidelines. In your case your article was too short and failed to assert your article notability. You might want to read and use Wikipedia:Articles for creation to help you for your first article. -- lucasbfr talk 14:32, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Big Brother 8 UK edit

Hi, I noticed your copious edits of this page today. You also left an uncompleted edit, and failed to check the page for errors afterwards; leaving the page almost as a massive table. Would it be possible to preview your edits in future? It's just easier for everyone, thanks :) -- Halo2 Talk 17:34, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The nominations do not go in the weekly summary... They go in the nominations table. Though I don't see who you yet know who nominated who as far as i'm aware only the housemates up for eviction are known. -- Halo2 Talk 18:26, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
We already know that they're up for eviction.... Look at the nominations table. Add the double eviction info to the table. -- Halo2 Talk 19:35, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edit(s) to Big Brother 2007 (UK), it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thank you. John Hayestalk 21:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

MGS4 Demo edit

Concerning your comment on my talk page, as I recall the mention of a demo on the podcast was the presenters giving an opinion. What we would really need is an announcement from Konami/Kojima Productions. John.n-irl (talk) 20:02, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

So we have to wailt it is takeing a long time for them to say if there well be a demo. A Candela (talk) 20:14, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:00071844.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:00071844.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:00071844.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:00071844.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Re: Visual Imagination Software edit

Sorry i cant make that page, mainly because of the lack of information that is available about the developer. I just cant justify making a page with next to no context. You cant just copy the information from their website as the notice below states. You should write it in your own words and then back up with in text citations, otherwise the page will be deleted. Salavat (talk) 14:09, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Visual Imagination Software edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Visual Imagination Software, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.vis-games.de/en/company.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Re: Family Park Tycoon edit

Yeh it seems it is only released in Germany, it was released on November 17, 2008 according to the page at Astragon and if you go to the German amazon they say it was released on the 24th of November. Using the "EU" release thing is maybe a bit broad , so ill change it to German. Salavat (talk) 10:39, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Advertisment edit

I tagged it because it isn't written neutrally. When I have time I'm going to try to rewrite it, but right now it has phrases like fan of the classic theme park are in for a treat and make the right decisions and create the most exciting theme park of all time, which have no place in an encyclopedia. Compare with RollerCoaster Tycoon to see the difference. Templarion (talk) 17:04, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

ah I thought you was going to delete it becyse I saw the tag. A Candela (talk) 17:35, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Newds.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Newds.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:47, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copyright problem: Family Park Tycoon edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Family Park Tycoon, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.vis-games.de/en/ http://www.astragon.de/product_info.php?products_id=239, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), versions 1.3 or later then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Family Park Tycoon and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Family Park Tycoon with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Family Park Tycoon.

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Family Park Tycoon saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:27, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

In addition to the above, I wanted to just be clear that we cannot utilize direct translations of non-English text on Wikipedia as this constitutes a derivative work under US copyright law. Unless a source is demonstrably public domain or licensed compatibly with GFDL, we can only use limited quotations of text in accordance with our non-free content guidelines. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:27, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you are able to verify permission to display this text, please do so. In the meantime, the article cannot be displayed. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:59, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, we can't display the article because it violates our copyright policy and US law. If you want to, you can rewrite the article in the temporary space linked above in your own words, but you can't paste material from other websites on Wikipedia or, as I said, even put up a direct translation from German. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:12, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I donet know what to write so can you please do it for me. A Candela (talk) 23:16, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't have time right at the minute, but I'll be happy to give it a shot soon, if I can find more sources. Do you know of any other sources on the internet that talk about it? --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:18, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah here you go http://www.ds-x2.com/index.php?id=12134 and http://www.cubed3.com/news/10972/1 A Candela (talk) 23:33, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

All right. I'll see what it can do, although it won't be until tomorrow my time. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:02, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have created a new stub for the article that does not violate our copyright policy, but I'm afraid that I couldn't find much by way of reliable sourcing to verify notability. What would be really helpful are game reviews or newspaper articles. Please feel free to add those. But remember to use your own words, not to copy words from other sources. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:57, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Family Park Tycoon edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Family Park Tycoon, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

I cannot find any reliable secondary sources (used a simple Google search here; gNews turns up nothing) that can establish notability of this game. I also cannot find a suitable place for redirection, as this is the only game of its type.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. MuZemike (talk) 20:49, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I've pasted this from my talk page, since it seems likely to be of interest to you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:54, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why are you doing this it is not a fake game it is real and what do you need. A Candela (talk) 00:53, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you're talking to me, I'm notifying you so that you are aware that it has been proposed for deletion. :) If you're talking to the editor who nominated the article for deletion, he isn't likely to read this page. As to what to do, the notice above explains how "prods" are handled. If you disagree with the "proposed deletion", you can stop it by removing the prod template from the article, but unless you also address the concerns, there is a chance that the article will be nominated for a deletion debate. The best thing you could do at this point is find reliable secondary sources to indicate that the game is notable--newspapers, magazine reviews, professional industry websites. They don't have to be in English, but it would be helpful if they can be linked. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:30, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I went ahead and challenged the PROD because while trying to explain it to you realize that I can think of a good place for redirection: List of Astragon games or Astragon. If the article is redirected, people who search for the game on Wikipedia will be directed to the publisher. If you want to keep it as a separate article, you should probably go ahead and try to locate some of the types of sources I mentioned above. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:45, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

More is good, but they don't seem to have reviewed it, so that one might not be helpful. It's not a question of whether the game exists, but whether it is "notable" enough for an article of its own. I was just telling the contributor who tagged the article that I'm not really familiar with the two sources I've added. He may choose to communicate with you about it himself. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:37, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

What about a video of it. A Candela (talk) 23:50, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Only if it's an officially released video by a reliable source with commentary about the game. A clip of the video won't help establish notability. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:54, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I got this video http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kuN_0q8SmGo A Candela (talk) 23:59, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid that won't work, since it's on youtube and is likely hosted illegally. Also, it's a "trailer", or an advertisement. The best kinds of sources here are reviews or other articles. Anyway, you might want to look around and see what else you can find and wait and see if the PROD tagger has any comments about the sources you've located. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:03, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Neither source is reliable, nor do either provide any significant coverage that might establish sufficient notability. Rule of thumb is that blogs or forum postings are not considered reliable sources (see WP:SPS). Nothing that I have come across (my German is not too good, but good enough to read some German websites) indicates that any sources are reliable and/or provide anything beyond trivial mention of the game. Possibly the nintendo-online.de article, but the other two (which I have already seen in my search), definitely not. Establishment of notability requires more than just a mentioning of the title on a site; it needs significant coverage, kind of like the nintendo-online.de one. The general notability guideline outlines what is generally needed. See if you can find more reliable sources like the nintendo-online.de one (remember personal blogs or forums are normally not considered reliable sources). But it is a start. All three seem to be all right. That should provide enough coverage to establish sufficient notability. This one might have been tricky for me because all the sources would have been in German, and I am not aware of the reliability of the German sources, but they seem to check out in my view. Make sure you expand the article and make references to those reliable sources I have mentioned above using the standard footnote-style citations, which you can find out how to do that at WP:CITE. Hope that helps out, and thanks for digging for those sources. MuZemike 18:39, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re:Pokemon Regions edit

Hello Canand1. It would be nice to have an image for each region, but that would violate the non-free use rationale (see here). Also, the Sinnoh image you uploaded isn't properly tagged with a non-free use rationale. Unless you correct this, the image will be deleted within a week. Cheers. -sesuPRIME talk • contribs 14:25, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I updated it with the non-free use. A Candela (talk) 14:38, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

But there are still too many non-free images in the article. Please don't add any more non-free images to Pokémon regions. Thank you. -sesuPRIME talk • contribs 14:50, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Foto Showdown edit

A tag has been placed on Foto Showdown requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Copyrighted material edit

Please make sure you don't add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, which was mentioned to you before. For example, when you created the article Ghostwire, you copied content from here, and also when you create System Flaw. You can get information from these sites, but you should not just copy and paste it to Wikipedia. You need to rewrite it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thanks and please take care, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 20:48, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

System Flaw edit

Hi again Canand. Thanks for bringing up the information at Talk:System Flaw. I was wondering if you wanted to add the information to the article, or were looking for someone else to? I'm willing to, but I was wondering if you were planning to yourself. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 18:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Funbox Media (company) edit

A tag has been placed on Funbox Media (company) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile edit

The article RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This game is not nearly big enough (yet) to have its own article. It could just as easily be included in the primary RollerCoaster Tycoon (series) article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. gsk 05:26, 17 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
