  • While your dedication to creating articles on Canada's road system is praiseworthy, and Wikipedia could use your help, your article creation is a bit overzealous. On Wikipedia (WP), we need "significant coverage in reliable sources" to have an article about any subject.
This does not mean we could not have the same information in another format though; before writing any further, I suggest you go and talk with Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways and coordinate with them.
If you have more general questions about Wikipedia, you can ask at the help desk or at the teahouse, or to me here (but then, please notify me by including {{U|Tigraan}} in your comment, and signing it with four tildes: ~~~~ - this will send me a WP:PING).

Please discuss this edit

Hello,

I already left you a note, above, but you might have missed it. Could you stop this mass-creation of articles and discuss it? We will not "get mad or anything", but if you continue creating articles in the knowledge they will be deleted, it wastes everyone's time and you will end up blocked. TigraanClick here to contact me 17:24, 14 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

What you need to understand is that Wikipedia is not a place where every road, every hill, every community centre, every bridge that exists (or used to exist) is automatically eligible to have an article just because it is or was a real thing. For an article to be justified, it has to be supported by real coverage in real media (not press releases or Google Maps) that clarify why the topic is important enough for the world to need an encyclopedia article about it. We have specific standards of notability, and specific standards of reliable sourcing, that have to be met before an article becomes earned — you can't just go around trying to create an article about every single thing that merely exists. Speedy deletion nomination of Greenbank Road (Ottawa) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Greenbank Road (Ottawa), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Roads edit

Please note that Wikipedia does not automatically accept all, or even most, roads as notable just because they exist. To be notable enough for a Wikipedia article, a road requires substantial historical, political or social context for what might make it important for the world to know about, and reliable source coverage about the road to support that — a road is not going to be accepted as notable if all you can do is describe its physical route, and the only source you can provide is its location on Google Maps. For example, Ottawa's Sussex Drive qualifies for an article as it's part of the government's formal ceremony route and has some of Canada's most important governmental institutions located on it — its eligibility for an article is because it has stronger claims to notability than the mere fact that it exists. And this has been explained to you before, so you're going to be running the very real risk of a longer editblock if you continue to disregard it by creating articles about arterial roads with no substantive claim of notability besides just existing.
