Michael Angelo Batio albums

Alrighty. Looks like you're legit, rather than just a random passer-by (or passer-editor, heh). Several things I'm gonna have to disagree with here:

1. Why de-link the recording location? Template:Infobox album#Recorded says nothing about that, so why not keep "in Chicago, Illinois" linked as they were before? Looked fine to me. Also, can you point me to which source has the recording year? I usually leave specific or even vague recording dates out unless there's a concrete source for them.

2. What was wrong with the instrumentation being laid out the way it was before? If it merely comes down to personal preference, then.. well, then we might have a problem 'cause that's how I've always done it without being challenged so far.

3. For No Boundaries, Why is Perris Records now preferred over Thermometer Sound Surface? Both have equally dubious sources IMO. I went by Guitar Nine's version of events, but you seem to have found a different one.

4. Why has Batio's name been de-linked from the producer section? As per Template:Infobox album#Producer it says to link the producer's name, with no mention about overlink. Therefore I always tend to keep them linked for the sake of consistency. Stylistic preference again?

5. Progressive metal is now listed ahead of instrumental rock. Why's that? I know I'm getting really nitpicky here, but progressive metal in general tends to have vocals, whereas instrumental rock is.. well, exactly what is on the two albums. Is this subjective or are we going by sources here? Allmusic says pop/rock, which I find ridiculous, and if you've listened to the albums you'll most likely agree.

6. "Musicians", "Additional personnel".. ugh. Another stylistic preference? Ouch, that's three now.

I'm more than just legit, my friend, I created the articles in the first place!! I will try to answer your questions...

1. The location of Chicago, Illinois is not relevant to the "Recorded" parameter in the infobox. I have edited album articles for a long time now and have seen this as the standard way to do it. Check the featured articles of albums to see.
2. I entered the instrumentation as it is laid out in the album liner notes. The order is, again, the standard of album articles on large... instruments first, stuff related to music next (arrangements, programming), production next, and other stuff (photography etc) last. Just making sure it was right by re-writing it; it was pretty much the same I think.
3. Allmusic is a more reliable source than Guitar Nine Records, and they said Perris Records. Allmusic is often used by Wikipedia.
4. It is standard not to link the producer if it is the same name as the artist. This is correct.
5. Of course I have listened to the albums, haha! But yeah this is preference really... Wikipedia tends to list more general genres first, so putting instrumental rock and/or heavy metal first is probably more correct.
6. Yeah, that's just something I like to do.

So I don't see any reason to revert my edits; I started the article and am now cleaning it up with updated templates and corrected/improved references. So could we just go with what I've done? Thanks for the message, but I do know how to cite lol, as I have been editing WP for over 5 years now. I didn't feel that adding the reference into the article was necessary, as full names very rarely warrant a reference on their own unless it is a source of debate, but I thought I'd go ahead and include it in the edit summary just so nobody thought about reverting it. Southampton player lists

Hi - As you may have noticed, I have completely re-written the List of Southampton F.C. players and have created List of Southampton F.C. players (25–99 appearances) and List of Southampton F.C. players (fewer than 25 appearances). I see that you have been working on similar articles in your sandbox, so I'm sorry if your efforts have been wasted. I must confess that I "ripped off" your intro to the article(s). It would be nice to add some images to the articles, but I'm struggling to find any of the noteworthy players in a Saints shirt. Also a few other things... the appearances should go Starts/Subs/Total, not with a separate League column, and references should be done with the small notes as usual (see List of Manchester United F.C. players for a great featured list on which I based mine). Also, for the positions column you should use {{sort|01|GK}} for each position, 1 for GK, 2 for DF, 3 for HB, 4 for MF, and 5 for FW, so the positions are sorted accordingly. On the dude thing, I don't know your name, so I just use something to refer to you... sorry to have offended you, but there's no need to be so aggressive, we're clearly on the same side. Yes, all three lists must be sorted in the same way, but that same way is by date of debut for the club, not by number of appearances; this is an article about all players with over 100 appearances for the club, not the players with most appearances for the club. And it is a convention, just check all the featured lists in this area (two being against the rule, but loads following it). The lists I were producing on my sandbox followed this convention, but yours are very different in many ways (this for one, the inclusion of a separate column for league appearances for no reason, the references not in the references section which is completely unique to this list, and the notes in a wide column). In That Number - Player of the Season

Thanks for the note, but unfortunately "In That Number" does not list the Player of the Season. It is occasionally mentioned in the player bios, but that's all. Apart from the "Southampton Mad" website, I have struggled to find a better reference, even for more recent "awards". Incidentally, there is a problem with your draft article in your sandbox. The "caps" column doesn't sort correctly; this is because the use of the dagger symbol confuses the sort, which will sort it as a character. To get round this, can I suggest that you colour code and include the dagger in the "Nationality" column to indicate capped players. Also, it would be nice if the background colours and symbols could be consistent with the player list articles.

In the narrative section, it would be good if you could explain how the winner is chosen and when the award is presented. Over the years, the basis of selection has changed; originally, this was via the Daily Echo by sending in your votes, and later with a phone-in option, although lately the poll was taken over by the club. I seem to recall that in some years, there were two separate awards, one organised by the Echo and the other by the club. Likewise, with the award presentation, this has changed over the years. This used to be done at half-time in the last home match of the season, but more recently this has been done before the kick-off, with only a small part of the crowd in their seats in a very low-key affair.

I don't think Cortese has any real feel for the club and to him it's just a business which he and the Leibherr family hope to be able to sell on at a profit. Consequently, he has no real respect for the history of the club; witness the way he has treated Le Tissier in the past. Sorry; I went off one one there! Hi. Not sure if you've seen the reply I left on my talk page so I'll repost it here. As 2013 has just begun and the EP still hasn't been released yet, it should be out sometime this year. He wouldn't make the whole thing streamable and then release it in 2014. I can't give you a reference but "TBC" would be a far better release date to put than Christmas Day. Hi. The discography article provides very little detail other than release dates, which are found easily in the individual articles. Usually for a discography article to exist there must be significant independent coverage of the subject, which is in most cases chart positions, sales certifications, and the like. I disagree, and clearly so do several other editors given the number of times you have reverted. Readers shouldn't have to go through many separate articles (many of which are not linked from the band article) to get details of the band's discography, and severalsome releases do not have articles (or soon won't as one is PRODded). You're neglecting to mention that I actually created the article in the first place, so if I hadn't it wouldn't even exist and no one might've thought it should. Also, from looking at all the article's edits, I've only ever redirected it to the main page twice before today (on 25 December 2010 and on 23 December 2011), and before today's it has been accepted for a year as a good redirect by the community. Also, apart from myself, the only people having edited the article are unregistered users (normally just fans wanting more coverage of their favourite band), bots, and yourself. I'm more likely to send it back to AFD, the sources are dire, they are nearly all primary. Your problem of sourcing that information goes back to the original problem: notability. It looks to have only been restored as nobody did a proper analysis of the sources. Livescores

Hi. Based on Wikipedia policies and guidlines we should not provide livescores, based on WP:LIVESCORES and WT:FOOTY consensus here. Has also been discussed many more times. If you keep adding this your edits will be considered disruptive and you may be warned and blocked. One of the concerns is what happens if game gets interupted and/or awarded a 3-0 win, who scored the goals then, and so on. Please wait until matches are finished. Thank you. Early Saints players

Thanks for the note and the new articles. The "All the Saints" book was on my Christmas list, but Santa decided it was too expensive, so I'll have to save up for it out of my meagre pension! At present, my life is largely taken up with another project, researching the lives and deaths of the men commemorated on my village war memorial in readiness for the 100th anniversary in August. Consequently, Wikipedia will have to take a back seat, so the field is all yours. I have a user page where I have listed all the Saints players from the Southern League era onwards without an article (see here), so if you want to turn the redlinks blue, that would be marvelous. The existing blue links are where articles have been created by other users since I first created the list, but need more Saints content adding. i have edited the references on the Bromley brothers. The 1987 book was not published by Hagiology but by Breedon Books. 2013–14 Southampton F.C. season

Hi. I just felt I should explain my edit at 2013–14 Southampton F.C. season since you reverted it. The one and only reason was to make it to look more like all of the other club season articles that uses those headers to explain what is seen in the sections. For example "results by matchday" section is not clear to everyone since some editors edit against source (at least on the other articles) because they think it is position after all teams have played their matches. I realise everyone has different opinons and that all articles dont have to look the same so I wont go in to edit warring and re-revert, but I just wanted to express my opinion (although I dont see any reason for revert more than WP:OWNERSHIP and that you want the article to look what you think is right). Straight Outta Compton release date

Hi, I just found out you reverted some of my edits regarding the release date of the N.W.A album Straight Outta Compton. I know that almost everywhere on the internet, including Wikipedia, 1988 is listed as the release date of the album. However, in one interview from around 1997, Ice Cube claimed that Straight Outta Compton was released in 1989. Also, in this interview from 2013, Ice Cube said that Straight Outta Compton and Eazy-Duz-It were released six months apart and remembers that "Eazy came out '88, N.W.A came out early '89", which clearly means that Straight Outta Compton was released in 1989 and not 1988. And no, he wasn't lying and he didn't make a "mistake" when he said that. Another reason Straight Outta Compton could have been released in 1989 is, at 10:08 mark in the documentary about Eazy-E, Eazy mentioned an album coming out in January, which also implies that the album came out that year. A 1990 article also referred to the release date of Straight Outta Compton as "last year". I'm sorry, but you are wrong. The artist saying that their album came out at a certain time is not a reliable source, and all third-party sources say that it came out in August 1988. I mean come on, there are thousands of newspaper and magazine articles from back in the day detailing the release! Ice Cube himself has obviously misremembered and got the timeline slightly wrong. His word does not go above and beyond that of numerous independent sources. Please change everything you have done back to what it was. Andre666 (talk) 14:06, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

You can correct me all you want, but I trust and care what Ice Cube says more than a "reliable source". Just because he said Straight Outta Compton was released in 1989 doesn't mean he's wrong. There are some albums that list a year on the back cover or CD but didn't actually come out the same year, like, for example: some copies of the first Violent Femmes record list 1982 as the copyright and publishing release date, but that album wasn't released until 1983.
