Hello Akopoly! Your additions to Mile 16 have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ASUKITE 15:42, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Akopoly. I've moved your article Bomaka to Draft:Bomaka as it needs reliable sources adding to verify that the subject meets our inclusion critieria. Such sources could be published government census information, data on regional government websites, significant coverage in regional newspapers etc. Regards, Zindor (talk) 01:40, 16 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Great Soppo

edit

Hello, Akopoly,

Thank you for creating Great Soppo.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Hi, Akopoly. Thanks of creating the article Great Soppo. Make sure you check for existing articles as the subject was being covered at Soppo too. These are probably best treated separately so i'll merge that content over however and redirect it to Great Soppo, with a hatnote for Small Soppo. Also try to cite reliable sources like the Tribune, or in this case this will prove useful

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Zindor}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Zindor (talk) 23:19, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

I thought perhaps the situation was a rapid bifurcation of development with Great Soppo as the primary topic and no prior history to speak of but i've come across plenty of historical sources that refer to 'Soppo' as a locality, and could provide content in that regard. In this light it's less clear how 'Great Soppo' and 'Small Soppo' differentiate as separate entities. It could be that they are two parts of a greater whole (Soppo) or have a shared significant history. In this light i believe the subject should be handled on one page until the point clarity is gained on the status of these localities and content developed. This means a redirect from Great Soppo for now. Regards, Zindor (talk) 01:15, 21 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Camp SIC moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Camp SIC, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Article creation

edit

Hello, Akopoly,

I think it might be wise for you to create and improve articles in Draft space or User space like your Sandbox. The bar is high for new articles put directly into the main space of the project. They are subject to review and frequently get tagged for deletion if they are not adequately sourced or are otherwise incomplete. You might have more success developing articles in Draft space and then submitting them to Articles for Creation for review and approval. They are much less likely to be deleted if you go this route.

If you have questions about article creation, article review or Wikipedia's deletion processes, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:56, 9 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Ekema Patrick Esunge

edit

Hello Akopoly,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ekema Patrick Esunge for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
