Maybe you should start something on http://www.wikia.com/ for things like this? It would probably be accepted there, it almost certainly won't be here. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 21:09, 18 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Do not create, add, or restore hoaxes to Wikipedia, such as you did with the article John Oldham (baseball). Hoaxes are caught and marked for deletion shortly after they are created. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia – and then to correct them if possible. Please do not disrupt Wikipedia. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia to learn more about this project and how you can contribute constructively. May 2013 edit

Hello, I'm Cmr08. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Collin McHugh, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Despite being reverted a number of times for adding content without a source, you keep doing it. You must have found the info somewhere, all you have to do is provide a reference telling us where the info is from and your additions will likely remain in the article. Cmr08 (talk) 02:17, 14 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

All you have to do is at the end of the sentence, put the citation inside an opening and closing ref tag. You don't have to worry about what area because as long as the ref tags are there, it will appear automatically in the "References" section. Just take a look at the other references in an article and add the same way as the others. Cmr08 (talk) 03:51, 14 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Derek Lowe may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. A.J Griffin Wiki edit

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._J._Griffin#Pitching_style

I added the pic thanks in part to a few users saying of the copyright and stuff like that.

Is this image okay and WON'T be removed like all my other images?

All you have to do is click on the image and you will see "Unless the copyright status is provided, the file could be deleted seven days after the upload (26 May 2013)." So if this image is copyrighted like the others, then it will likely be removed like the others. Cmr08 (talk) 02:01, 27 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

As apparently you are not understanding the point, I will give it to you simple: the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc., owner of Wikipedia, cannot use images obtained from the internet without permission of the author for legal reasons, a.k.a. copyright infringements. Copyfree images are printed when you want the option to print a book, for example Book:Maya Angelou. These free images must provide they can be used for commercial use, and all of the images I removed were obtained under no permission from the author(s), just one image obtained from a daily says: "Copyright 2013 The Denver Post or other copyright holders. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed for any commercial purpose." (bold mine). It doesn't matter if you see nothing wrong, it is wrong to falsify licenses as you uploaded them. It simple US law being applied correctly.
Also, if articles have or not image is not a justification to create copyright violations. If there are not images, eventually there will be, they are baseball players and free images exist. Under a few exceptions copyrighted images, whose main subject is a living person, are accepted, but this is not one of those exceptions. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! In what site or something can I find free licensed images to be able to put in Wikipedia?

I'm interested in knowing, so I can put pics on baseball players bios and album covers.

First of all, please sign your contributions to talk pages like this one by typing four tilde characters: ~~~~. That will add your username and a timestamp so other readers can easily see who wrote what, and when.
As to baseball players, have a look at Wikimedia Commons. There is a Category:Baseball players with lots of subcategories. If there are no images yet for specific biographies, then I'm afraid you'll likely have to wait until someone takes a photo of some living player and releases it under a free license. You can try searching Flickr too, but most images there are not free to use.
Album covers, however, are almost always unfree and cannot be used on Wikipedia without a fair use rationale. I've already explained that to you in the "Uneven" section above. You can upload album covers here at Wikipedia, but you need put a tag on the file page that explains why the copyrighted image may be used to illustrate the specific article. There are templated bits of code that do the job, so when you upload those cover images you need to add the code from Template:Non-free use rationale album cover and Template:Non-free album cover to the edit window. The resulting file page will then look like this. Note also that non-free images must have a low resolution when uploaded to Wikipedia so as to prevent misuse of the image. So please don't upload high-res album covers but only downscaled versions. De728631 (talk) 17:17, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately that image wasn't free to use either. Please see my talk page for more instructions. And please do sign your disccusions! De728631 (talk) 18:02, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Morre (Band) edit

Hello 1remains,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Morre (Band) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 23:31, 17 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Trove edit

It was not deleted "without reason"; the reason was specified. A band is not automatically entitled to an article on Wikipedia just because they exist; the band must actually pass one or more of the criteria listed at WP:NMUSIC to qualify, and the article must be sourced to real media sources and not to the band's own PR materials or to non-notable music blogs. They may qualify for an article in the future if and when one can be written that passes both of those tests — but a band that have yet to actually release their debut album are not entitled to keep a primary-sourced advertisement, which only asserts that they exist and fails to demonstrate why they're notable at all, on Wikipedia. Nomination of Aug (band) for deletion edit

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aug (band) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. JayJayWhat did I do? 20:56, 8 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Arizona Diamondbacks Secondary Color edit

Now, I've tried to edit and modify the Arizona Diamondbacks color scheme in Wikipedia. The color Sand they do not use it anymore since the start of the 2016 season. The unveiling of their new jerseys and colors has NO sand color in them.

http://arizonasports.com/story/479618/arizona-diamondbacks-unveil-new-uniforms-for-2016-season/

The colors they use are Black, Red, Purple, Teal and a Dark Grey but again, no sand. I've been able to modify the colors but the sand color appears still in the players, coaches and the bottom template of the team. How can I change that? Again, you watch the link above and see that the color sand has been removed from their color scheme since 2016.

@1remains: The Arizona Diamondbacks still use Sonoran Sand as an official club color, per MLBStyleGuide.com (I can't give out the credentials to the secured site). Please stop removing it from all related articles/templates. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 05:01, 28 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Craig Stammen/Fernando Rodriguez edit

Please see the source provided - the signings took place between December 10 and 22, but does not specify the exact date for each signing (that's why I wrote "In December 2016" rather than adding specific dates). If you have a source that states an exact date, please add it. In addition, please do not use ordinals on dates per WP:BADDATE. I wish to know if it is possible to get paid editing Wikipedia articles? If so, how?

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:47, 4 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

The article The Jesus Experience has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of The Jesus Experience edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Jesus Experience, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for Deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Disambiguation link notification for June 7 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kelvin Herrera, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wade Davis (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Song and album titles edit

I just reverted your change because it was a title of a work. MOS:TITLECAPS applies to those. "Prepositions containing four letters or fewer (as, in, of, on, to, for, from, like, over, with, etc.)" are not capitalized. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:24, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Baseball edits edit

Hi, just a couple of quick tips:

  • The plural of RBI is RBIs or RBI but not RBI's (i.e. there is no apostrophe).
  • Per MOS:DATE, ordinals should not be used in dates (e.g. June 5 is OK but not June 5th)

Best of luck with your editing. --Jameboy (talk) 22:31, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Confusing edit edit

Why did you change this single date from dmy to mdy? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 03:44, 26 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

It was missing a key component when establishing dates, commas. You don't put 26 April 2019, it is supposed to be April 26, 2019 or 26, April, 2019, you don't write a date without establishing that, that's basic English grammar.
