How old when he moved to US?
editI noticed he has no foreign accent in English. How old was he when they moved in from France? Must have been at the oldest 12yo to have no accent?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.200.176.150 (talk) 09:06, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
- He was 6. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.91.51.235 (talk) 07:17, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
Criticism
editStrange that there is no evidence of the increased scrutiny of this person.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Brett Alexander Hunter (talk • contribs) 08:27, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
- Please, add it. About what? Yes, it would be interesting to add. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.91.51.235 (talk) 07:33, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- You can try, but something tells me a person like this has a very carefully curated page. You're not going to be able write about his political activities.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:600:9500:a:d801:7a96:fb93:c4bd (talk) 15:32, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Why is the caption of the photo "shunned"?
editIn the photo, Omidyar and Branson are sitting at the same table, with Branson looking in a different direction.
The caption of the photo says "Omidyar being shunned by Richard Branson".
Is there any reason the word "shunned" is used?
Later in the article, you can read that "In 2010, he and his wife established, along with Richard Branson and the Nduna Foundation (founded by Amy Robbins), Enterprise Zimbabwe."
I find it odd that Branson would establish a foundation with Omidyar and then shun him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.80.225.56 (talk) 20:47, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- @67.80.225.56: That was because someone vandalized the article a few edits back. I have reverted it. Thank you for bringing attention to this. Peaceray (talk) 03:04, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
Ethnicity in lead sentence.
editI have removed this per MOSBIO. Malerooster (talk) 22:40, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- MOSBIO does not apply to citizenchips but to ethnicities. Omidyar has 3 nationalities, French, American and Iranian : [1].---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 22:49, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- The info box says he has 2 nationalities. The source above says he is Iranian-American? Is there other of better sources that confirm his nationality? --Malerooster (talk) 03:24, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
- Then the infobox should be completed. The article says that he's born to Iranian parents, thus, he has Iranian citizenchip. We have many sources describing him as, among other citizenchips, Iranian (in English and French) : [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7].---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 11:31, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Wikaviani: Do you have sources that state children born to Iranian parents overseas have automatic Iranian citizenship and then having it into adulthood? The article on Iranian nationality law tends to hint at adults not being able to have multiple citizenship unless specifically petitioned and granted by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Is there proof, including statements by the subject about themselves, that this person (and others that you have made similar edits for) have an Iranian passport? DA1 (talk) 22:44, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- I have dual citizenship myself (French/Iranain). We have multiple sources describing him as American, French and Iranian.---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 23:06, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Add mention of Coworker.org
editI noticed that the Liz Fong-Jones article mentions Coworker.org as being "backed by Pierre Omidyar of the Omidyar Network", which sure enough seems to be the case[1][2], but there is surprisingly no mention of this on his or the network's article(s).
It probably should be. In fact, I suspect Coworker.org may in fact even warrant its own article (or at least its own section on one of Jone's, Omidyar's, or his network's article). I would do this myself, but I don't quite have the time/mental bandwidth today, or at least at this exact second. Maybe tomorrow. But if anyone else finds this interesting, feel free to do so, or else tell me whether it warrants a mention/section/article or not.
