The result of the move request was: moved to "Peniche, Portugal": disambiguator per naming conventions. There was insufficient evidence of primary usage to remove the diambiguator. DrKiernan (talk) 11:18, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Peniche, PortugalPeniche – The dab page "Peniche" lists four items of which the first two are redirects to the Portuguese town of Peniche. The third item is a retired association football player who appears to have played 13 games for a second-level club, scoring 1 goal, and 2 games for a top-tier club where he scored no goals, although the club were champions in the season he played for them. He also appears to have played for an Italian club but it is unclear how many games he played. By football standards this does not make him a particularly notable person and he does not appear much in online searches. The fourth item on the list is the French word for a "houseboat" or "barge" and "péniche" is a redirect to the English wiki article on barges. Thus it would seem that the Portuguese town is the most prominent use of the word "Peniche". The three uses could easily be linked using hatnotes.--Relisted Cúchullain t/c 04:19, 14 October 2012 (UTC) Relisted. ??? but we don't have an article on the French word for barge. This isn't wiktionary. Okay, I have added:
hatnote: For the French word for barge "péniche," see barge or narrowboat
on top of Peniche (Portugal). Does that remove the objection to move. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:44, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
I would also question how many people on the English Wikipedia would be looking for the barge article looking if they typed Peniche. I suspect most if not all would type the English word barge not peniche.--70.49.73.84 (talk) 21:44, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Not necessarily. A péniche is a specific type of river barge (very different from the barges used in the UK, for instance) and the term is very well-known and commonly used outside France. When referring to a péniche it would not be usual, for instance, for an English-language book on waterways to use the word "barge". And it's certainly not a narrowboat! -- Necrothesp (talk) 08:35, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
That may be so, but we don't have an article concerning that, or even mentions of it within related articles. Zarcadia (talk) 22:48, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
We are talking about the specific word Peniche. Just because that is a translation for an English word does not mean the translation trumps the English usage; and there is no specific mention of Peniche in either barge nor narrowboat. Zarcadia (talk) 22:43, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have tried to add to the Economy section of Peniche, Portugal a significant development for the municipality - that of SmartOcean - a marine science and technology park. The edits have been declined twice since it is said that I am trying to add inappropriate external links.

The text for the second edit comes from two reliable Portuguese sites that I referenced, and I only linked to the science park. The Peniche Municipality and the local university are behind this initiative as are two other public sector organizations in Portugal and it is supported by the Portuguese Ministry of the Sea. So it is not a private initiative, rather a public sector one. This is an important development for Peniche and Portugal as this is the first marine science and technology park in Portugal, so I thought it was worthy of being entered into wikipedia.

Can someone please explain what I have done wrong? Is there a way to add SmartOcean to the Peniche page? Or is this something that absolutely cannot be added?

Thank you!
