Many people A few people Nobody at all has asked why I chose the username SamuelTheGhost. This was partly a reference to personal circumstances at that time, circumstances which no longer exist, as it happens. It was also an allusion to 1 Samuel 28:3–20, which has always intrigued me.
- I don't think people generally ask where a person's username came from, or who is behind that name. It would be like asking a member of a traditional culture what his inner name is; which is by right his secret, known only to himself and the gods. Of course, he is free to tell people if he wants to. Perhaps we could use a few more ghosts like Samuel in the halls of government nowadays. Ornithikos (talk) 21:41, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
The name might be taken as implying that I am male and dead. This implication is currently half true. I have no doubt that it will eventually be competely true.
