This was very recently deleted via AFD, and subsequently refunded as a draft, where it still is.--- Possibly (talk) 23:24, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

edit

This page should not be speedily deleted because the recreated article is not identical to the deleted version and has been improved upon. More sources have been included within the article and the Music Center piece is used purely to describe López's artwork included in the digital series and to describe exactly what the digital series is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mylissa I (talkcontribs) 04:41, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Mylissa I, There are 5 sources in this version of the article that are not in the draft: http://www.newimageartgallery.com/group-exhibition-friends-do-not-fear
https://betanyporter.com/news.html
https://www.lancastermoah.org/single-post/2017/11/10/dark-progressivism-the-built-environment-moah-lancaster
https://www.lataco.com/recap-dark-progressivism-moah-lancaster/
https://www.selfhelpgraphics.com/calendar/2016/11/2/da-de-los-muertos-2016
None of those provide significant coverage of Manuel López, they just mention his name and in one case, lancastermoah.org, not even that . My recommendation would be to fix the draft, and not make extra copies of the article, because Wikipedia's licensing requires that attribution be given to all users involved in creating and altering the content of a page. See Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia. Vexations (talk) 12:49, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
I have also checked the sources, and as Vexations says, four are trivial name checks and lancastermoah.org does not mention him. As we have recently had a deletion discussion and this article does not substantially correct the problems of the deleted version, this article should be deleted. To preserve the work the student editor has done, it could be moved to draft (Manuel Lopez (artist) 2?). However, @Mylissa I: it's not advisable to move this to article space again without getting a second opinion form other editors to confirm that its problems have been solved. If you are moving it to article space in order to get a better grade on your assignment, let us know. --- Possibly (talk) 16:19, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

COI tag (April 2021)

edit

If a contributor wasn't significantly involved, how did an unlisted YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1vM6oBo87U become introduced into the article in the first place? Graywalls (talk) 04:20, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Graywalls: The "unlisted" video is publicly linked from this public blog post. I don't see any reason for a COI tag, so I am removing it. --- Possibly (talk) 04:36, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Possibly:, the video description says "Manuel Lopez is an East LA native that studied painting at the Chicago Institute of Art. We met at a party in 2010 when I first started posting a photo a day on my old Eastsider website.", on a YouTube channel of Rafael Cardenas, which is publicly listed on the website of Rafael Cardenas. I think the article having been edited by someone actually closely related to him is a fair possibility. Who would use such sources anyhow? Graywalls (talk) 05:01, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Graywalls: see the creator's user page. It's a student project, for a university class in USC San San Bernadino if I recall correctly.--- Possibly (talk) 05:13, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Curate LA

edit

@Netherzone:, you've been working on this article for a bit. I removed Curate LA events guide earlier. Do you feel this should remain, because I see they're back in. Graywalls (talk) 04:09, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Graywalls, hi, I'm pretty sure it was I who added it back in. I think it's ok to leave it even tho it is basically just a press release. It's not there to establish notability, but rather to provide basic information. If you object remove it, but I think it is helpful to readers. Netherzone (talk) 04:51, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
