Assess for Schools edit

good "Start". Alumni present. Refs required. Suggest adding ", London" to the end of the name to avoid confusion with Ankara. We shouldn't be anglo centric... Victuallers 10:17, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

info edit

No mention or discussion of the school's history, charavter or drug problem? What about famous ex-students? Or anything more than the most basic and banal information? This is pathetic. There are also some factual errors in the description - the attached primary is also part of the Lycee.

Since the above respondent was clearly deeply vexed by the lack of information, why didn't he simply edit the page? This fellow should learn to be constructive, and not simply be content to criticise.

What about the nursery school in The Boltons in the 40s and 50s? When was it opened and closed? I did not go there myself but had friends who had been. It is not mentioned here - who remembers it? Nicholas Newman (talk) 01:31, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

'The Boltons': Yes, I was there in 1948/49, in my kindergarten year. It was on the corner of Tregunter Road. It's not often that Google lets me down, but I can't find any reference to the Lycée at The Boltons on the web. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boy.bowen (talkcontribs) 00:34, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I wasn't aware the lycee had a drug problem.--Reimtus (talk) 21:22, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

famous alumni edit

I have been tracking down the school's claims to certain 'famous alumni', in particular Michael Grade, Anjelica Huston, Natasha and Joely Richardson, and Zoë Wanamaker. I cannot find corroborating evidence on the Internet; so I have emailed the school's alumni service. The following is their reply (original in French, translation below): "Merci pour votre message. Je peux vous confirmer que ces memes noms apparaissent dans la brochure officielle du Lycee mais il n'y a pas de source. Cette brochure a ete faite avec la collaboration du Proviseur, donc j'estime que ces faits sont vrais !" "Thank you for your message. I can confirm that the same names appear in the official brochure of the Lycee but there is no source. This brochure was made with the help of the Proviseur (i.e. Headmaster), so I would assume these claims to be true."

Could someone with a bit more time on their hands run with this? Philbradley 09:41, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Information shortcomings edit

Late in the day, this technophobe has got on the case. I have filled in some of the missing detail about the Boltons. To get sources, someone will have to give up time at RBKC Borough Archives and Planning Department. That is surely the most reliable source. See also my emendations on the School's French Wiki site. All improvements welcome! --Po Kadzieli (talk) 10:57, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Evaluation edit

The article is considerably more informative, but it is also clunky. It needs severe editing - short back and sides. Any volunteers out there? Courage, --Po Lityk (talk) 22:04, 1 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Agree: Compares well with other independent school articles. Po Lityk has done a good job. He does need another editor to add a second pair of eyes. For my part I have tried to trigger a reassessment. It looks far better than the French article. I would remove POV adverbs, like outstandingly and replace them with something more neutral, and do include the age discrimination incident with a possible link to the legislation. -- Clem Rutter (talk) 10:32, 2 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Clem, a lot of our en.Wiki articles are better than their origininal French Wiki versions. However, the fr.Wiki is nowhere near so strict on sources as we are and that's the problem here. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:16, 2 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Scouting? edit

Wilson[1] links the school to Boy Scouting, was there a connection?--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 04:38, 1 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
