@WikiOriginal-9: Hey. Allen wasn't traded onto the practice squad, but neither did he ever play in a regular season game. Typically, I consider those * worthy, but perhaps they shouldn't be. It seems what actually happened here was that he was traded, then was a healthy scratch for a few weeks, then was probably dropped. (The first two are verified by sources. The last one is speculation; he did not remain on the team long enough to be mentioned in coverage for the next preseason.) Thoughts? ~ Rob13Talk 07:46, 11 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I know what you mean. The note says "Offseason and/or practice squad member only" though, which doesn't seem to be true here. Why did they trade for him anyway? Maybe they had him active as a backup for the game but the situation never presented itself where he was inserted into the game. Maybe if someone got injured or something, he might have played. There may be players with similar scenarios as Allen elsewhere on Wikipedia but in their cases, the situation presented itself and they ended up playing in a game or two (and thus don't have an asterick). One game in CFL edit

Does his one-game stint in the CFL justify mention in the lead sentence? Per the guideline MOS:ROLEBIO:

The lead sentence should describe the person as they are commonly described by reliable sources.

I'd propose leaving it out of the lead sentence, but leave its mention later in the lead. —Bagumba (talk) 02:12, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
