A lot of Advertisements and propaganda? edit

Someone please clarify whether George Alencherry has titles such as Patriarch, Gate of all India, etc.?. According to the official website of Syro-Malabar Church, George Alencherry is the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church as well as the Cardinal. And when did Syro-Malabar church renamed to Marthomma Nasrani Church?. Users 14.139.155.158 and Amal joseph 1997 should understand wiki is not a marketing tool! Vandalism found!! Restored the version of 20:37, 17 November 2016 by‎ Matthewrobertolson. Jithinsamgeorge (talk) 06:23, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Amal joseph 1997: Could you please put references for George Alencherry's titles such as Patriarch, Gate of All India? Neither the official website and publications of Syro Malabar Church or any declaration by the Universal Catholic church assumes these titles to George Alencherry. Also the name of the Syro Malabar Catholic Church is not Marthoma Nasrani Church. Since Wikipedia is not a platform for spreading propaganda, your repeated edits is pure vandalism. Please don't spoil this useful platform this way. I am restoring the version of 20:37, 17 November 2016 by‎ Matthewrobertolson Jithinsamgeorge (talk) 07:27, 25 January 2017 (UTC).Reply

Serious vandalism frequently occurring on this page!! Some pro Nasrani Federation members edit the name of the church and the titles given to Major Archbishop George. Guys if you want to change the name of the church or the titles given to the head of the church better get it approved by your own church, editing in wikipedia will not help you at all. disagrees with deleting of image, these images can be used. what are the issues with the image, it is in fair use itself. (Alex.mathews (talk) 01:21, 30 January 2013 (UTC))Reply

should that controvery of him involved in some case & Italian marines be given. it was very prominent in national media & I think even Vatican reacted to it, our national channels & political class was involved, should such different & divergent view points be given that are matter of debate. opinions solicited (Alex.mathews (talk) 04:31, 30 January 2013 (UTC))Reply

Recent moves edit

@Jy.abin: This article was recently moved to Portal:His Beatitude Mar George Cardinal Alencherry; I moved it back from there, because this page is an article, not a "portal". But Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people)#Titles and styles says that an article title should not include an honorific such as "His Beatitude". I recommend you seek advice before moving the page again. -- John of Reading (talk) 11:23, 13 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Okay so that's the third time you've asked the same question, how many answers do you think you're going to get? Elizium23 (talk) 08:12, 11 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

To add, Syriac version of his name ,Classical Syriac:ܡܱܪܱܢ ܡܱܪ ܓܪܓ ܟܱܪܕܺܢܱܠ ܱܠܢܟܗܪܪܝ, George Alenchery (talk) 08:28, 11 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is indeed the Syriac transliteration of his full name and title, but there's not a single source that mentions it. If it hasn't been published anywhere, it's not really necessary to include on the English Wikipedia. – Thjarkur (talk) 08:38, 11 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Land sale controversy and Ernakulam priests' revolt edit

This section is poorly sourced and should probably be deleted altogether until it can be rewritten using reliable sources and in accordance with Wikipedia style guidelines. Because this is a BLP, Wikipedia's already-high-bar for citations is even higher, and even more so because this section deals with a controversy.Writethisway (talk) 22:30, 25 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring edit

Hey, @Jude Didimus and TRHmTivl: You guys need to cease edit-warring and discuss changes on the this talk page. Sort out the matter here. ~ Pbritti (talk) 19:16, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Esthappanos Bar Geevarghese: You should do likewise. I count around 10 reversions total between you all in the last 24 hours. ~ Pbritti (talk) 19:18, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Pbritti: The edits by Esthappanos Bar Geevarghese are part of a pattern of gallery overloading that they are doing to multiple articles. —C.Fred (talk) 21:32, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@C.Fred: Do you think some sort of ANI is the right move? ~ Pbritti (talk) 01:47, 21 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

User:TRHmTivl is repeatedly removing sourced content here in this page and on List of major archbishops of the Syro-Malabar Church. The user clearly is promoting pov. It is observable from his removal of the traditional information and Alencherry's image in official ecclesiastical vestments. I do not think there is anything to discuss here before reverting their removal since Esthappanos Bar Geevarghese is also agreeing with me. Jude Didimus (talk) 02:32, 21 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Jude Didimus: This is not how 3RR works (everyone thinks their reversions are justified) and you have been warned repeatedly. ~ Pbritti (talk) 02:49, 21 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
