Talk:Eureka (2006 TV series)

Timeline? edit

The article mentions several times a changed or altered timeline, but does not explain when or why this happens. The change seems to be a major event, and deserves a subsection of its own. --Austrian (talk) 11:56, 6 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've added a little explanation in the synopsis section, it probably needs expanding and editing, but does clarify a bit. 109.130.58.72 (talk) 12:06, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Napier's Constant? edit

The title logo for the series has the second 'e' in small case. Is this a reference to Napier's constant? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.74.159.5 (talk) 03:53, 10 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Warren King edit

I don't see mention of the character Warren King, the head of Global Dynamics, who appears in the pilot. Could someone add that, or is he so minor, it doesn't matter?

The Matrix and the Antivirus Purge edit

The Antivirus didn't destroy the matrix. The matrix was taken offline and Holly jumped into GD's computers. The antivirus was run against the GD mainframe, not the Matrix computer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:470:7:1193:0:0:0:2 (talk) 02:08, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Warehouse 13/ Eureka Cross over edit

Why is Artie (Saul Rubinek) not included in the section about this cross-over? He was in Eureka Season 1 ep 5 "Invincible" as Dr. Carl Carlson. [1] 208.95.51.163 (talk) 17:26, 16 July 2013 (UTC)DJ 7/16/13Reply

It was the same actor playing a different character, I don't think Carl Carlson was ever intended to be linked with Artie. 81.156.179.244 (talk) 09:21, 21 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Redirect edit

Why is there a redirect from "General Mansfield" to this article?-Godot13 (talk) 01:22, 8 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

The issue is that anyone searching for General Mansfield (as in Civil War general Joseph K. Mansfield) will wind up at this article.-Godot13 (talk) 01:26, 8 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Probably because AFAIR there is a minor character in the first 3 seasons with this name. Armbrust The Homunculus 09:21, 8 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
I guess my question would be why a minor character in a TV show gets a redirect that perhaps should lead you to an historical Civil War general? (Also, what is AFAIR?)-Godot13 (talk) 14:41, 8 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Good question, I have no idea. AFAIR = as far as I remember. Armbrust The Homunculus 07:33, 10 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

On-screen sponsors. edit

Isn't it worth mentioning the "sell-out" (the internet's phrase for it) to have on-screen sponsorship in the show?

http://io9.com/5054137/eurekas-creators-dont-sweat-sponsorship-demands/

http://io9.com/5032214/scifi-channel-sells-out-eureka/

http://www.tv.com/shows/eureka/forums/the-placement-advertising-is-getting-painful-76729-1155156/

and so on....

  • Product placement is nothing new. It really isn't as relevant for a TV series as for a single movie that used a lot of it. Niteshift36 (talk) 01:48, 26 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Past Tense or Present Tense edit

Can somebody explain to me why we shouldn't write the beginning of an article about the TV series that ended as "Eureka was an American science fiction television series.."? Why should we change it into "Eureka is.." and all the others alike? -- İskenderBalas💬 19:20, 3 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Critical Response edit

The only information about the critical response to this long-running cult favorite is for the pilot. Someone who cares about the show more than I do probably should rectify that. DollarX (talk) 03:29, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

This has existed in Mumbai. edit

I believe Ambani's wife controls this city. But during the world wars it got disrupted. 115.98.232.8 (talk) 10:15, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

WP:SMALLDETAILS. No disambiguation needed, but a hatnote linking to each other must be sufficient.

EDIT: If successfully moved, Eureka (U.S. TV series) will be redirected back to "Eureka (American TV series)", while Eureka! (U.S. TV series) will now be redirected to "Eureka! (American TV series)". Both redirects use old pre-2019 WP:NCTV naming formats "(U.S. TV series)", until an RfC was passed to change the formats from "(U.S. TV series)" to "(American TV series)".

  • Oppose. A disambiguation tag is required anyway, and the current titles eliminate possible confusion. See a similar discussion at Talk:Jeopardy (TV series). 162 etc. (talk) 16:49, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
    Agree here. RMXY (talk) 23:42, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
P.S. I already moved the former to its current title early this month. RMXY (talk) 23:43, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose 1st, support 2nd per WP:SMALLDETAILS you can normally rely on the presence of unusual detains but not the absence. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:33, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Much clearer as it is at present. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:28, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
