I've added definitive refs from the London Gazette, including one which puts beyond doubt the fact that he was first elected for Belfast North in 1889. I have amended the article to reflect this - there's no reason we should perpuate the errors made in other reference sources. It should also be possible to find a ref in teh same source for his knighthood, but it's proving somewhat elusive at the moment.

There is a strong case for moving this to Sir Edward Harland, 1st Baronet as this is the standard form of article title for baronets. David Underdown (talk) 19:06, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
