I moved the parts pertaining to high school into one paragraph (though the phrasing still seems awkward - I must return to this). What degree in Sociology was obtained, though? Associates? Bachelors? LTC David J. Cormier (talk) 17:45, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Other Names

edit

Some or all of Daniel's names listed under "Other Names" have been deleted at least twice now, most recently by the user PashaTarsius who refused to explain his or her actions when asked about in on his/her talk page. Instead of responding like an adult, this user childishly deleted the question. Which is fine, hey, it's their talk page. If trolling their own wikipedia page is how some people get their jollies, what's it to me?

This page however is a place of public discussion. In particular, discussion of contentious issues and I will not be so tolerant of attempts to silence the issue. Anyone who tries to edit or delete this post will be reported.

Would anyone like to explain why this section keeps being deleted? It seems at a glance that people are interpreting "Black Fedor" and "Fedor Emelianegro" as insults, and thus, vandalism. To anyone with a basic knowledge of MMA, they are clearly nothing of the sort—and are in fact tremendous compliments—but here the majority of contributors to this article can clearly be excluded. And why delete DC? It's not even offensive, i.e., interpretable as vandalism, and anyone who has spent time on an MMA forum has seen DC used as a nickname for Daniel Cormier.

TL;DR: anyone deleting the other names is the real vandal. Machine Man (talk) 11:54, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Height

edit

I think his height of 5 ft 3 is wrong. If you follow the link to UFC's site, it says he is 5'11. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.178.76.35 (talk) 12:41, 24 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Heads-up with No Contest Updates

edit

Heads-up with editors trying to change Cormier's loss against Jones as a No Contest. User:Wrestlingfan129 made these changes without providing a source (and it stayed in this article for 4 days). Until a verdict is made, Jones won the fight against Cormier. MX () 15:58, 28 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Quotes

edit

Hello MMA-Fans, i deleted a quote of Joe Rogan, because it seemed unnecessary to me. Just a general comment about quotes in articles about MMA fighters. Some people seem to get all excited about them, especially if they contain expletives. And if Dana White said "It ain't so." they also want to put it in - search for "rumor" in this Cormier article, i wish somebody would back me up and delete that sentence. Now about expletives: a person who uses them is NOT cool. He may be stupid, or immature, or (if it's a fighter) just overexcited after the fight. In any case you don't do him a favour by quoting him. I think we should keep this sort of thing out of otherwise very decent MMA articles. I'll be glad to read your thoughts about this. Herbmuell (talk) 03:08, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

It should be stated in the section regarding his fight with Stipe that he was warned multiple times for eye pokes. OldOatFarmer (talk) 19:28, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. L293D ( • ) 19:32, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Are you dull? Mention the eye pokes the same way they're mentioned on Miocic's page. Cormier is notorious for that form of cheating, which has caused fighters to undergo medical procedures following his pokes.

#1 p4p in the world is not accurate.

He is ranked #1 in the UFC ranking as pound for pound. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.39.169.50 (talk) 13:16, 19 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Lead

edit

We can discuss what should be in the lead about his status as an all-time great, but it needs to say that he is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion in the opening paragraph.--Killashaw (talk) 21:05, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
