Clarification

The term "outsource" is often confused with "offshore." Often the 2 occur together, but they are sometimes done separately. Did Mr. Baker outsource IT (have IT done by another company), offshore IT (have IT done outside the US), or both (have IT done outside the US by another foreign or domestic company)? Where does he stand on the issues?

Articles sources are very difficult to verify, please link to the online version even if behind the paywall

I noticed this article has numerous sources that are all reliable and all. the problem is the way they are written. They list the date and page of the the article. Thats all fine and dandy if you would like to book a flight to boston and work your way through the boston globe reading room. I understand that most globe articles are behind a paywall but the fact is that is the easiest way for people to verify the authenticity of what portions of the article they are being used to back up. I would recommed that we list both. list the articles page and date as in the ref title as well as a link to the globe article online. As the man is running for governor of Mass I would assume a good portion of this wiki's readers have online access to the globe archives with thier delivery subscription. Most people are not going to copy the wikipedia article and walk down to archives to verify things. we should make it easier. heck, a weeks subscription to get the access would cost less then the train fare. anyone want to take a stab at this? I could just make anything up about the guy and say "Boston Globe August 21st, 1992 p26" as it stands. -Tracer9999 (talk) 03:52, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Good points, but citing newspaper articles in this way is ultimately perfectly fine. After all, books, all the way from the "journalistic" kinds to the most scholarly, cite newspaper articles (and journal articles, which are always behind paywalls) in this way. As nice as it would be to verify all of these articles (and as much as I want to), the newspaper citations might have to remain as they are, which, since Baker is a current political candidate, significantly reduces the credibility of the article. State government career

I tried to make this section sound more NPOV, and in doing so discovered that the section really isn't that clear. The entire chronology is hard to decipher (for instance, was Weld still governor when Baker submitted the plan in 1997 or had he already resigned by then?), but the last paragraph's is particularly confusing. I took a guess at whether "financing method" and "Baker's plan" were the same or different. The fact that the paragraph starts with a one-sentence description of the 2007 findings but then immediately goes to refutations—Baker's possibly from when he first put the plan in place, but Kerasiotes's apparently from 2007—does not speak well for the article's NPOV. Maybe the report has other information that would not necessarily cast the candidate in a good light.

That being said, I hope someone with knowledge (especially the chronology) will tackle this section and make sure the facts are accurate.

Name Vandalism

Since this article began people have made a habit of changing his name to end in "IV" instead of "Jr." His legal name ends in "Jr."

No, it doesn't make sense, as his grandfather had the same name that also ended in "Jr.", so he's the fourth. Doesn't matter. His name ends in "Jr.", too. Look at the sources. It doesn't have to make sense. Changing someone's name because you don't agree with it is vandalism and will be reverted immediately. —Designate (talk) 13:02, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

• The Charles D. Baker II Scholarship application referring to granddson CHarles D. Baker IV.
• A 2015 Commonwealth Magazine story.
• A 2016 Town of Carlisle annual report

Face masks

I would like to know where I can get a mask. I can’t buy one and I can’t sew so that isn’t helping. Here in Taunton where I live I can’t even get my hands on a roll of toilet paper never mind a mask. I have cancer, copd, emphysema. This isn't necessarily the place for this, as Wikipedia is not a forum, but there's a GQ article called "Where to Buy Face Masks" that covered this pretty well. I would also suggest that you get someone who is not as vulnerable as you to pick up your drugs for you, maybe a friend if you truly can't get family members to do this. Stay safe!
