HELLO! the article is totally messed up by the latest editions of a Greenock-something. All information about Alexanders releases of Russian songs and Russian albums are gone. If you are so kind, I suggest to remove the belarus & norwegian nationality. If his parents are both from Belarus, how the hack has got the Norwegian. The picture with the norwegian flag is subject to fraud, so I suggest to leave on just the norwegian nationality, if you preffer. If he managed to win a contest or not, I don't see why would wikipedia add the "belarussian" nationality to him if he obtained the norwegian. When you open up some of his articles you are confused of the "belarussian + norwegian" nationality. Wouldn't you consider to settle he's got a secondary nationality for norwegian ? Controversy

Who the hell put that piece of information about Alexander Rybak cannot play the violin? It looks convincing the way the article is presented and written but there are NO sources whatsoever. Rybak's middle name

I could be wrong, but I think his middle name is derived from his father's first name. Since his father's name is Igor (or Ihar in BLR), his middle name becomes "Iharavich". Similarly, we can deduce that Alexander's grandfather was also named Alexander, because of his father's middle name "Aliaksandravich". decltype (talk) 13:53, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Dear editors. I am one of Alexander Rybaks admins of his social pages. He has studied this Wikipedia-page about him and has asked us to bring a request: Is it possible to delete the Chart-lists? As he says, he has not really been big on Charts since 2010 and he has long ago decided, he is not a "format-artist". His work is about so many other things, than Charts. He would be very happy, if the Charts could be removed. Another reason is, for every album on this page, there is links to seperate Wiki-pages where the charts can be found. Perhaps, that is sufficient? Removal of the charts could provide space for more interesting info, maybe:-)

Second album details, edit-protect?

Due to the ridiculously disproportionate levels of protection affecting this article, the '2.3 2nd album (2010–present)' section is out of date. The album was formally announced on the 31st May and named 'No Boundaries', and is due for release on June 21st. This section also fails to detail Rybak's further involvement in the 2010 Eurovision, the release of the single 'Oah' on June 1st, or any other notable activity since the protect was added. I understand the need to curb vandalism, but the article has become factually incorrect and out of date due to the over-eager protection, which seems to have been applied in this particular case but not to other equivalent musicians, whom face the same levels of vandalism... --~ Analysethis ~ Anonymous Deity ~ Just a n00b ~ (talk) 14:43, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Plagiarism?

Some months ago, somebody added under "Notes" the sentence: "Rybak won the Серебряная калоша-2010 (Silver Overshoe-2010) for Plagiarism Of The Year for Ya Ne Veryu V Chudesa, which resembles Aerosmith's I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing." (Note: This is "Superhero" in the Russian version.) Unfortunately there is no source for that statement. On the Russian Wikipedia site for Серебряная калоша, Rybak's name isn't mentioned. So I googled it and found a Youtube video with a "show" where indeed Rybak's Superhero is compared to Aerosmith's Don't Wanna Miss a Thing. I guess he didn't win the mentioned prize - but I don't know, and I don't speak Russian. Who can help? Paul Haferstroh (talk) 00:02, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Gay?

All five sources report the same incident, 8 years ago, and some have exactly the same wording. It looks more like "sleb goss" than a meaningful statement on his part. In fact the Cosmopolitan article also says this (Google translation):

"There are rumors, that Rybak opened its orientation, in order to attract more attention to his own person. Perhaps, he went to it to avoid blackmail, as it did a few years ago, lead singer of the British group Boyzone Stephen Gately. In addition Fisher could and joke, to get rid of too troublesome fans."

Thanks for clarifying the nature of your new sources. But I don't think your point that these "sources are not Russian press" really adds much to your case. I don't think you really have a convincing rationale at all. The alleged "admission" by Rybak seems to be uncorroborated hearsay, reported 8 years ago, that falls far short of a clear and genuine expression of his own sexuality. • For what it's worth, here's an interview in Norwegian from 2009 reporting it as gossip (in Russian media), contrasting it with gossip about his having pissed away his TV earnings and about his having a new girlfriend, and giving his response as that gossip is fun, it's good people are writing about him, so in fact he likes to launch his own rumours.
