Panna Udvardy (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈpɒnnɒ ˈudvɒrdi]; born 28 September 1998) is a Hungarian professional tennis player. She has career-high WTA rankings of 76 in singles and 65 in doubles.

Udvardy has won one singles and two doubles titles on the WTA Challenger Tour. She has also won eleven titles in singles and nine in doubles on the ITF Circuit.

Professional career

2017: WTA Tour debut

Udvardy made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2017 Hungarian Ladies Open in the doubles tournament, partnering with Anna Blinkova.[1]

2021: First WTA 125 final, top 100 debut

She reached her first final on the WTA Challenger Tour at the Montevideo Open, losing to Diane Parry in straight sets.[2] She made her top 100 debut at world No. 96, on 29 November 2021.[citation needed]

2022: Major debut & first win, WTA 125 singles & two doubles finals

She reached her maiden Tour doubles final at the WTA 500 Sydney Tennis Classic, partnering Vivian Heisen, losing to Anna Danilina and Beatriz Haddad Maia.[3]

Udvardy made her Grand Slam debut at the 2022 Australian Open,[4] losing to Victoria Azarenka in the first round.[5] She recorded her first major win at the Wimbledon Championships on her debut at this major defeating Tamara Zidanšek,[6] before being defeated by 24th seed Elise Mertens in the second round.[7]

Partnering with Amina Anshba, she ended runner-up at the Palermo Ladies Open, her second doubles final on the WTA Tour. They were defeated by the defending champion Kimberley Zimmermann, who played alongside Anna Bondár.[8]

2023-2024: Swedish Open doubles title

Udvardy reached her third WTA doubles final at the 2023 Hobart International, partnering with Viktorija Golubic.[9]

Partnering Irina Khromacheva, she won the doubles title at the Swedish Open, defeating Eri Hozumi and Jang Su-jeong in the final.[10]

Udvardy entered the 2024 French Open as a lucky loser, but lost in the first round to former finalist, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.[11] She also qualified for Wimbledon but again lost to a Russian in the first round, bowing out to 17th seed Anna Kalinskaya in straight sets.[12]
