November 2020 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Icaria has been reverted.
Your edit here to Icaria was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (https://ethnicelebs.com/tina-fey) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page.   Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. However, do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, your own website, websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight, expressing views that are widely acknowledged as extremist, that are promotional in nature, or that rely heavily on rumors and personal opinions, as one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Thanks! P.S. If you need further help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 14:52, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

L'Enfant edit

Welcome! edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Disambiguation pages edit

Please note that disambiguation pages like [[:]] are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - disambiguation pages are for Wikipedia articles only

L'Enfant seems likes a notable poem. Could you add it to an existing article?

Thank you. Leschnei (talk) 12:50, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dear Leschnei, I have fixed L'Enfant, please check if you have time. I have added it to Victor Hugo's list of works, and linked the disambiguation to that list. There is a link there also to the French wiki page.

Thank you, User:Yiannic2020, Yiannic2020 (talk) 09:56, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yiannic2020, I made a few changes to you entry. If you look at the list above - you'll see 'one blue link' and 'do not pipe'. That was easily solved by changing the entry to:
(The piping rule only applies if it is the entry itself, in this case, "L'enfant".) I also added quotation marks around the name of the poem - that is how short works (like poems, songs, TV episodes) are formatted. Leschnei (talk) 12:21, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yiannic2020 (talk) 12:35, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I poked around a little more and found that "L'Enfant" was published in Les Orientales, so I added a list of contents to Les Orientales (with the link to the French L'Enfant article) and changed the link on L'Enfant to Les Orientales.
Oh, and I modified the link to L'Enfant (poem), rather than the French spelling poeme. That seems to be a more usual form for English Wikipedia titles. Leschnei (talk) 12:47, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Clerical celibacy in the Catholic Church edit

Hi! Thanks for your work editing and improving the encyclopedia. I notice your edit here [[1]] is marked as 'minor'. This isn't an appropriate use of the'minor' tag. Please see here: WP:MINOR. A minor edit is one that the editor believes ... could never be the subject of a dispute - this could (though in fact I personally believe you are correct).
