Illbleed for Dreamcast edit

Hi there. Thanks for the reminder for not adding non-english version on the right of its wiki page. Since Illbleed is the only Dreamcast game ever to have an official Chinese version, i just thought it should be added. Thanks

@Koyoutou: First off, welcome to Wikipedia! I am not completely opposed to putting the release date in the infobox (I did something similar with Gimmick!). If it's an important/notable part of this game's history, we can include it, but I think it'd be better to first find a reliable source. TarkusABtalk 19:55, 27 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Haunting Ground edit

Heyo. Saw that Kill Screen wrote an article on the Haunting Ground today. Might be helpful for the article. Link. GamerPro64 03:44, 21 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Looks like a great article, I'll have to add some info in. Thanks! TarkusAB 09:47, 21 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Parasite Eve edit

Ok, I think it's better now, all issues addressed. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 05:01, 8 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem edit

How exactly was my editing of Eternal Darkness disruptive? If you're going to make an accusation like that, offer an explanation for it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheCorduroyEffect (talkcontribs) 15:23, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

I did provide a explanation, twice in my reverts if you read my comments. So here we go again, for the third time, please read WP:OVERLINKING. Linking common terms such as "video game" clutters articles and draws attention away from more important terms like "psychological horror". The term "video game" is understood in context and is not a significant term within the article. As it says on the overlinking page, "The function of links is to clarify, not emphasize." GA Review swap edit

If you would review SaGa Frontier 2, I could review your article. Let me know if you're interested. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 21:10, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

That's a good idea, I'm down! I should have time this weekend to give it a read through.TarkusAB 23:11, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Quick check edit

Hey there. Just wanted to check something with you. An IP made this edit at an AFD today. I removed your signature from it, as I didn't think it was you who said this. If I was mistaken, feel free to add it back. Sergecross73 msg me 19:13, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Sergecross73: Thanks for notifying me. That's very odd, I did not make that edit. I wonder how they got my name and why they used it? It looks like the article mentions a lot about the Clock Tower games, which I've done major edits on. They must have gotten it from there. TarkusAB 21:03, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I assumed it wasn't you - the comment didn't sound like it came from an experienced user. Then I noticed that you weren't in the edit history either, so I figured something was up, but wanted to check to avoid needless drama if it really was you. Perhaps they were trying to impersonate you, thinking you'd have more influence? I'm not sure, but I doubt it'll be a reccurring issue - it just seems to be a group of SPAs who will likely disappear once their article(s) are deleted. May it be possible for you to review Alesta? It would help to promote a good topic around it. Best, Cartoon network freak (talk) 20:05, 26 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

FAC: House of Music edit

Hello there. Would you care to review or comment at my nomination of House of Music for featured status? The previous nomination did not gather enough commentary, so anything at all would be appreciated. Dan56 (talk) 17:01, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your reversion of my edit on the D article edit

Considering that the text I removed is already fully covered in the "Development and release" section of that same article, I felt it'd be highly redundant to have that near-same text in the lead. --Uno10 (talk) 17:32, 9 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Uno10: You are correct that the text you removed is fully covered in the development section, but there is no issue of redundancy here. The purpose of the lead is to summarize key points mentioned in the body of the article. The text in question summarizes key facts of D's development and should be mentioned in the lead. Re:Scan request edit

Hey! Here are the scans:

They aren't much, but hopefully they'll help in some way. I dug around a bunch of my other magazines from the era (EGM, Next Generation) and discovered that they didn't even bother reviewing CT2. A search of GamePro's online archives turned up the same. Best of luck pulling an article together, regardless. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 22:59, 9 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@JimmyBlackwing: Great, thanks! Yea, the game was really bad so I guess those other mags didn't bother reviewing it, haha. You rock! TarkusAB 23:16, 9 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request for assistance edit

Tarkus, can you help me? Some of the refs at Sonic '06's page are missing their publishers (Eurogamer, Gamesradar, WWG, etc) and I'm stuck on mobile so I can't add them. Would you add them for me? ~ TheJoebro64 (talk) 21:56, 26 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@TheJoebro64: Well there seem to be a few issues with the reference formatting which I would not want to spend time doing. Other than what you mentioned, some of the dates aren't in the same MDY format, some references don't match in format (look at how the metacritic sources aren't using the cite web template, rather it was entered by hand), some websites are using the website field while some aren't, and that's what I see now, there could be other issues. There is no standard referencing format, but the format should be consistent within an article. I've never done a FAC myself, but I know they are difficult and these are the types of monotonous edits you'll be requested to make. FACs can stay open for weeks so if you're concerned about it being quickfailed, just put a note on the nomination page saying "hey I'm exclusively on mobile for a few days, is it OK if I follow-up on this in X days?" Developers: edit

I've noticed that game developer bio pages tend to be a little neglected. Sources used in pages on the games, can often be used also on their biography pages. For Resident Evil Devs, Hideki Kamiya and Shinji Mikami could probably be both brought to good status. Harizotoh9 (talk) 19:35, 4 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Harizotoh9: Yes that is true. Are you asking for my assistance? I prefer not to edit biographies, I stick mainly with game/series articles. Also I'm embarking on a wikibreak soon, so sorry I won't be able to help. TarkusABtalk 23:51, 4 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

A barnstar for you! edit

For your help with getting Knuckles' Chaotix to GA status, not to mention your copyediting of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006 video game). Thanks a lot! TheJoebro64 (talk) 23:19, 12 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Draft edit

Hey Tarkus, I've recently been working on a draft for the Sonic CD page at: User:TheJoebro64/drafts/SCD. Do you have any suggestions for anything more I could do with it (ignoring reception, gameplay (I'm adding sources to it), and legacy)? ~ TheJoebro64 (talk) 19:22, 7 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

@TheJoebro64: Looks good, mind if I make some edits? One thing I noticed is how there is a pic of the SCD in Re-releases, but that system was the original release. Maybe move the fourth mini paragraph in development under "Re-Releases" and re-title the section "Release" TarkusABtalk 20:37, 7 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, you can make some edits to it if you'd like. ~ TheJoebro64 (talk) 20:40, 7 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
@TheJoebro64: OK I'm done for now. Lead needs work...it's a little short for the length of the article and it's missing some key points like how it was being developed at the same time as Sonic 2, and no mention of Amy or Metal Sonic. Probably best to wait until you finish the rest of the article to write the lead anyway. Looks pretty good though, nice job! :) TarkusABtalk 23:31, 7 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Knuckles' Chaotix edit

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that Knuckles' Chaotix's copyedit is done and I've just nominated it as an FA. Our work has really paid off! :) JOEBRO64 19:56, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Re Night Trap edits edit

Heya Tarkus. Just wanted to mention I left some notes in Talk:Night Trap discussing my edits in the summary section, in the spirit of WP:BRD. Wanted to assure you I wasn't trying to cause any harm there, but rather to adhere to what I remembered the general standards being for excess information in the summary. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:20, 3 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you're willing to review one of my GANs (SegaSonic, Sonic Advance, or Sonic Advance 2), I'll be willing to review one of yours. JOEBRO64 13:36, 5 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@TheJoebro64: I'll do Advance 1. I worked a bit on SegaSonic so I shouldn't review it. TarkusABtalk 14:44, 5 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Zarlor edit

Didn't you like the article at all? I see what you mean about gameplay section, will try and put some thought about writing that, but because of the age of the game and a few issues with the Atari Lynx not doing so well it might be hard for total completion, but any suggestions you have to bring it up to a good standard please tell me on my talk page, cheers. Govvy (talk) 09:24, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Blimey, I got back home from work, realised you completely changed the article! You obviously didn't like what I had done! Govvy (talk) 17:09, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Govvy: See the note I left on your talk page as requested. I took the time and made a few changes already. The biggest problem was the Missions and Pilots sections. I removed them because they were excessive fictional details (See WP:GAMECRUFT). TarkusABtalk 17:31, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
It was a my own write of what was in the manual so it wasn't copyvio, I am not sure how that was excessive. Also what was interesting, I noticed a blog post that rather liked it and quoted it. Govvy (talk) 20:16, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Govvy: Even if it wasn't copyvio, the missions and pilots lacked coverage in secondary sources (like reviews), which would mean the write up was excessive and undue per WP:GAMECRUFT #5. Also the write up was written very poorly and unencyclopedic, for example: "But you know one thing, there are no innocent civilians here. So destroy everything!" It's written like the back of a box, or in other words, like a promotion (see WP:PROMO). This presents WP:NPOV issues. You can disagree with me and revert the edits, but the article will never pass any peer review in that state. TarkusABtalk 20:39, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

A beer for you! edit

For our tireless effort on bringing Knuckles' Chaotix all the way to featured status. It probably never would have escaped start-class if you hadn't seen my request for assistance at WT:VG. Cheers! JOEBRO64 14:16, 25 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
@TheJoebro64: And I probably never would have tackled the article if I hadn't seen your willingness to work on it. Truly a team effort! TarkusABtalk 14:41, 25 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
