Bath School disaster edit

I put the flag back in Bath School disaster but moved it to the left. It looks like that's what you wanted based on what you said on Talk:Bath School disaster. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 22:06, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wow that was such a long time ago (wikitime). I didn't know anything about the syntax back then. Thanks for fixing it! §hep¡Talk to me! 22:14, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Toledo Symphony edit

You're quick! Thanks--I think the orchestra is called simply "Toledo Symphony," found here. I think the page should be moved. Badagnani (talk) 16:46, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

For fun... edit

In reference to your most recent comment on Talk: Kent State University Stark Campus just how old do you think I am?!? =) --JonRidinger (talk) 21:30, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well from your UBXs I get you've attended 3 2 colleges. If that's right I'd say atleat late 20s. Am I close? §hep¡Talk to me! 21:32, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes two colleges (Kent State and BYU-Idaho...graduated with BA from Kent just this year) and am currently in graduate school at KSU...so yes, you are close. I am actually 26...to verify that you can visit my blog or my MySpace page. And I am ALWAYS doing my best to avoid COI on pages related to anything I'm connected with...sources, sources, sources! --JonRidinger (talk) 21:41, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I might have stretched that alot more than necessary, from the way you wrote I was thinking more like 36. Either way; my age is on my ubx page...no it's not? I thought I added that a long time ago. *goes to add it* §hep¡Talk to me! 21:44, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

OCC edit

The OCC conference website does load for me, so I'll get what pertinent information I can off it in a couple hours when I get to start working on this. I did find some promising news hits too, so we should have some to work with. matt91486 (talk) 22:46, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, they definitely do. This one should be pretty easy to get up to standard and relatively complete. My first priority will be to try to solidify the information on West Holmes conference switch - it sounds pretty definite, but I haven't been able to find a source that gives the final confirmation yet. There's one source that discusses what the OCC might do in response as well, so I'll see if I can get that all in as well later on this evening.
Alright, this may have gotten more complicated than I initially thought by reading the conference history; it was a little confusing. Now that I'm going through it, I think it might be better to have one article on the defunct Cardinal Conference and one article on the present Ohio Cardinal Conference. There doesn't seem to be a direct connection between the two - it looks like the OCC didn't begin play until 2003 and the Cardinal Conference disbanded in the 1986-87 school year. So I'm in favor of two separate articles. What do you think? (I did copy some online articles from the school's newspaper database into the OCC article about the original Cardinal article, so we'll have to be sure to get those moved over to the other if we do split them). matt91486 (talk) 06:10, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure if a defunct one would mkae it through the Afd or not. We could try it and if it doesn't work do some tricky merging. I'm out for the rest of the day. §hep¡Talk to me! 11:39, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I'm in favor of trying it. I don't think something being inactive is a valid reason to delete it; I'm not saying they won't attempt it, but hopefully the closing admin would see through it. We should have some good sourcing for it. I'll create a draft of the original one today and leave you the link when I get it up. matt91486 (talk) 21:42, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. §hep¡Talk to me! 21:43, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Here is the original Cardinal Conference draft. I found a great source to use for it, and it also gives a little information about the OCC, as well as the conference that came between them (the OHC). http://www.3lhloh.org/CC_History.htm. I think we should be in great shape on both Cardinal Conference articles and can get them moved into mainspace in the next couple days. We've got plenty of sources. matt91486 (talk) 23:46, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Very nice. I'll do some cody-editing tomorrow. §hep¡Talk to me! 00:46, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I'd be fine with including those conference championships as well. You'll probably have to code it though, I'm absolutely terrible with coding tables. But once that is in, I'd say we'd have the article pretty done. You agree? matt91486 (talk) 22:00, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Totally didn't even see that comment until now. Sure, I'll pop the table in later tomorrow and then we can put it in the mainspace. §hep¡Talk to me! 23:48, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Gotta create a footer template for it as well. You think you could do it based off of {{Western Buckeye League}}? If not I can do it tomorrow with the chart. §hep¡Talk to me! 23:53, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'll do my best do take care of it. I've coded those before, so I should be able to ability wise; I'm just hoping I don't get too overloaded time wise. But I'll try to sneak it in now before anyone notices I stopped working! matt91486 (talk) 00:11, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Alright, done - the only problem with it is that I don't know Malabar's mascot name. I just removed the blank for it as long as it's unknown. matt91486 (talk) 00:21, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tinkers Creek Aqueduct edit

I had broken TCA out from the Tinkers Creek (Cuyahoga River) article, since TCA is both a bridge and a National Historic Landmark. I am still working on adding available (public domain) content and updating re-formating the article.

(When? or) Should it be added to "List of National Historic Landmarks in Ohio" ? i.e. should Multiple-Site District/NHL have a separate line-item? Currently, there is no mention or reference to "Tinkers Creek" aqueduct in the Ohio and Erie Canal article.

I had found the NRIS (Multiple-Site) listing 66000607 Ohio and Erie Canal TR 1966-11-13 designation, and the 1979-12-11 "added" dates.

? I am curious where you got the NRIS "79000296" and "built 1825" from? Some other sources said 1826 or 1827, so I updated the Infobox to say 1825-1827. ? How I can reference/retrieve supporting documentation for "79000296"?

Also, the 1825-1827 site/structure was flooded out sometime before 1845, and they re-built a "little ways" away from where the original structure was. Is how I have it "built 1825-1827; rebuilt 1845 and 1905" okay? LeheckaG (talk) 14:58, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Honestly I'm not a member of WP:NRHP and I'm not sure about how they would information like that organized. I retrieved by information from a internet-crawling bot of sorts. (http://www2.elkman.net/nrhp/infobox.php) and to backup my information see [1]. I do work on the Ohio listing, and don't think it should have its own line if it's a multiple property listing, but be on the same line as the Ohio and Erie Canal. I hope that answers all of your questions, and you would really get more knowledgeable information from WP:NRHP than I could possibly tell you as that's their specialty. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me. §hep¡Talk to me! 15:54, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Did some more research and Tinkers should not be added to the Ohio NHL page, as it really isn't a NHL but a contributing property. I have placed a link on Ohio and Erie Canal back to Tinkers. §hep¡Talk to me! 16:03, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Yes, I see where the 79000296 is listed as the structure number (of the Multi-Site), and the 1825-1827 is debatable (probably construction began versus completed). and Thank you. I did not see your link from Ohio and Erie canal back to Tinkers? I looked on the Ohio and Erie Canal article and on the List of Registered Historic Places in Ohio article. What/who creates List_of_Registered_Historic_Places_in_Cuyahoga_County,_Ohio, is it manually maintained?
The NRHP in Ohio will not contain a link to Tinkers since it is on the county page. The NRHP page is undergoing a massive move right now. Tinkers is on the Cuyahoga page (manually maintained by me and two others), and I thought I had added the link to the Ohio and Erie Canal; seems I hit preview and think I hit save too often. §hep¡Talk to me! 16:39, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I don't follow everything going on here, but to chime in on one point: Right, it looks like Tinkers is a contributing property in the Ohio and Erie Canal Historic District, which is an NHL District. In the Tinkers article, the NRHP infobox should use type=cp, so that the top of the infobox it shows it as a contributing property (while currently it shows it as a NHL itself). (I am working on getting a change to the NRHP infobox, so that this could show a more specificly that it is a National Historic Landmark District-Contributing Property.) doncram (talk) 16:58, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. §hep¡Talk to me! 17:00, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

To drop the map now showing, in addition to the photo, in the NRHP2 infobox, just delete "locmapin = Ohio". In the NRHP2 infobox, you can have both map and photo, while in the NRHP infobox you can have just one or the other. I am working on changing the NRHP2 infobox so that it displays in IMAGE-INFO-MAP order, rather than current IMAGE-MAP-INFO order, because the map seems to be 3rd priority. Just go ahead and drop the map, that would be fine. doncram (talk) 16:03, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Special request, could you please not delete the "empty" sections? < ! - - comment - - > them out if you do not want them to display. When I go to add additional material to an article, I search for the project "template" section which I was going to add it to and I keep finding sections missing. The point of my cutting and pasting in a project template was to layout what needs to be filled in for a complete article to conform to project standards. I really do not understand what the benefit is to deleting an "empty" section? Something needs to be filled in there eventually, and if it is there, someone is more likely to put it in the "correct" place order so that other project articles are formatted similarly. If it is missing, then people start adding sections in different sequences and naming sections by new and "interesting" names... I do appreciate your efforts, you cleaned up what I started a lot. I apologize if I step on your toes at some point. I had a different picture (from HAER - Historic American Engineering Record, which I have not uploaded yet) in mind for the infobox bridge template, which was why I had the other picture in the upper left.
  • Is there a way to get leading-paragraph text to "flow around" the "Contents" box (instead of the Contents box forcing a big break of "white space"?
I thought I had seen at least one article which was able to do so, but I do not remember where I saw it. One way I have dealt with it is when I find a "portrait" format image, I place it to the left of the contents box, so that the contents box is shifted over into the whitespace. I am in the process of loading more relevant images to Commons.WikiMedia.Org, then I was going to merge the bridge projects recommended article format with the NRHP projects recommended article format. Then fill-in as much as I could from the LoC/NPS HAER records (there is some more stuff (text) there, but it is all scanned/graphics text, so it needs to be transcribed rather than cut and pasted. LeheckaG (talk) 19:30, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was aware of the _ _ NOTOC _ _ flag. I went through _ _ TOC _ _ flag, TOCleft, TOCcenter, and TOCright templates, but Wiki advises against having any text "between" a TOC and the first Heading. Their recommendation has to do with ADA "screen readers" for the sensory impaired. I have used text (non-graphic) browsers to browse the web, so I know what the technical issues are with text between the TOC and first Heading, and I have a partial hearing impairment, so I can relate to what they are talking about (for ADA). I found Category TOC templates ... went through them. Apparently TOCnestright template might be the closest thing to what I described?
I might be missing something, but I don't see an extremely large whitespace; just the usual that I see with more other articles. If you extend the lead it may wrap around the TOC box. §hep¡Talk to me! 21:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject templates edit

Hi, I do have the code (AWB I assume?) to grab classes from templates with newlines (it's a bit messy :P) but the computer that I have it on is temporarily down, so I won't be able to get it for you until later. Don't worry, I should have it available later today. Hope it helps!
P.S. If you need any tagging done, I would be more than happy to assist! RichardΩ612 Ɣ ɸ 11:51, June 21, 2008 (UTC)
Hi! I have the code for you! It's quite complex (I didn't write it with the intention of it being widely used, not that I mind at all), and involves modifying and remodifying the output, but it should grab the parameters however the template is configured. The example uses {{WikiProject Ecuador}} and the 'class' param. If you need any help, just ask. If you tell me what the Football proj. wants done, and some of the categories, then I can lend a hand if you like (300,000 articles?!). Hope this helps. RichardΩ612 Ɣ ɸ 10:43, June 22, 2008 (UTC)

ShepBot + Soccer edit

Hey, thanks for the offer to have your bot do the soccer project wikitagging. I couldn't find the overall database of every soccer category that exists somewhere in the project archives, but I did find several major parent categories that should provide the majority of articles. I think it's possible that all articles are somehow housed under Category:Football (soccer). If you need to break it down further to make things work well then the following are good places to start:

Category:Seasons in football (soccer) by country, Category:Football (soccer) matches, Category:Football (soccer) players by club, Category:Football (soccer) rivalries, Category:Football (soccer) players by national team, and Category:Football (soccer) competitions. The WP tag for the project is simply Template:football. Let me know if there is any other information you need. matt91486 (talk) 20:52, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the delay, should I start with those categories now? §hep¡Talk to me! 03:41, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Started tagging. Sorry again for th delay. §hep¡Talk to me! 03:50, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Absolutely no worries at all about the delay. I'm just excited to have it done. It'll make the project much more efficient. matt91486 (talk) 16:34, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, if it's just copying over ratings and streamlining, that sounds like a great idea. Would unassessed articles anywhere just stay unassessed? matt91486 (talk) 03:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. Also, in an unrelated comment, I think I'm going to move the Cardinal Conference article to mainspace so we don't get accused of having done nothing. You can just add the conference championships tables once it's already over. I'll make sure to remove your question, though, don't worry.
Auto-assessing is something I can let run while I sleep, so I started that. Really sorry about not working on those articles, they seem to have slipped to the backburner. Lots to do. §hep¡Talk to me! 02:27, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Classical Music Project category list edit

I'm now turning my attention to the Classical Music Project. This is a large, rambling project that covers all classical music articles, specifically all those not included by the other classical music projects (Composers, Contemporary Music and Opera). SatyrBot was used for a limited banner run some time ago. We decided to update with a new bot run, but this was postponed because of SatyrTN's absence.

I've been looking at the project categories again and I've started listing ones that look decent here. I am wondering whether it might be feasible to extract a full list of categories using the bot? (Obviously I'd like to keep any bot generated list on a separate page until we've examined it.) Absolutely no urgency with this. Maybe you deserve a rest after the Composers Project work? Best. --Kleinzach 01:10, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I just generated a category list for WikiProject Football. What's the main category? §hep¡Talk to me! 01:16, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's Category:Classical music. --Kleinzach 01:24, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
It will take awhile to generate. I'm on it. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:25, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ah. I saw your name on BotRequests and then ran you through the usual security checks! . . . but more seriously, the music projects all used to be done by SatyrTN. When he disappeared we needed to find a new bot owner. --Kleinzach 01:43, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Smaller cat than I expected; results here. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:37, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Large enough! I'm working on it. Thanks. --Kleinzach 00:13, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Possible bot run? edit

The requirement of this project is a bit different from the others. (As explained above) it covers all classical music articles that are not included by the other classical music projects. This means that if we did a bot bannering run we'd need to avoid all articles with Composers, Contemporary Music and Opera banners. Is this feasible, I wonder? (P.S. I have just about finished editing the categories - I've reduced them down to about 1,250.) Thanks. --Kleinzach 05:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

It actually should be fairly simple. So just filter out talk ages that have Composers, Contemporary Music and Opera banners; are there any others I should filter? §hep¡Talk to me! 15:45, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, it's just those ones. (We can ignore Music Project, Biography Project (of course), the countries and other banners.) Ideally it would be good if we could bring the Classical Music project banner up the same stage of development as the Composers ones. (I don't know whether Alanby might have time to check the banner coding? Should I ask him?) Up to now only a 1,000+ articles have been bannered. These register 'stub' on the banner, but apparently not the other classes. (I've now finished listing the categories at Wikipedia:WikiProject Classical music/Categories. --Kleinzach 21:35, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think I have everything under control banner wise. If I need help we can contact him though. So after I update the banner I should be ready to do a tagging run? §hep¡Talk to me! 22:01, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, but can we avoid the WPBannerMeta and do it exactly as the Composers one so our options are not closed off later? --Kleinzach 22:47, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, I could explain in detail but I don't think it would be a good use of our time to go into hypotheticals about features we might or might not need later. This is at a very early stage of development and everything depends on the other participants. What is important is that all goes absolutely smoothly - which thanks to your help was accomplished on Composers - otherwise I will either be inundated with protests or we go into project gridlock (both of which happened elsewhere). (Obviously radical changes can't be made to the Meta that affect other projects without their approval. I think that's why so many projects don't use it.) So can we go ahead remove the WPBannerMeta, copying the Composers' successful banner code? --Kleinzach 23:57, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Watever you say... But it won't be an exact replica becuase Classical uses two extra params, one for their taskforce and one for thier immediate action needed. §hep¡Talk to me! 00:47, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Implemented. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:24, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Yes indeed - I should have noted the two extra params. --Kleinzach 06:47, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Should I start now? §hep¡Talk to me! 03:40, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
We still have the extra line space problem. See Talk:Classical music, Talk:Pierre Dervaux, Talk:Sequenza. Can we do the same fix we used for the Composers banner? --Kleinzach 06:47, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Gah, I thought I had fixed that in my sandbox. Either way it's correct now and depending on the server's job que should be updated on all pages within a couple of hours. §hep¡Talk to me! 15:39, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks and good morning. The three examples (Talk:Classical music etc) all look fine now. --Kleinzach 00:15, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bot run edit

When we've fixed the last problem (see above) I hope we can start cautiously. The 1,267 cats are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Classical music/Categories. I'd like to start with Conductors (1.4) because I know this set of articles well. It begins with the substantial Category:American conductors. That one cat will be enough for a first go, I think. --Kleinzach 06:57, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I started tagging that category. There were about 50 crossovers with the projects to avoid so those will not be tagged. Overall there were a little over 300 in this run. I just started 5 minutes ago and we have 75 done so far. Hope all looks well! §hep¡Talk to me! 00:12, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Finished. §hep¡Talk to me! 00:29, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I've done a spot check to M and found these joint-banners with Contemp music: Talk:Samuel Adler (composer), Talk:Joseph Curiale, also this joint banner with Opera: Talk:Alfredo Silipigni. Are these 'pre-existing conditions', and if so is there are a way of eliminating them - perhaps later? --Kleinzach 00:35, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yep, I didn't even touch those pages. I made sure through the history of each article. :D §hep¡Talk to me! 00:38, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ah, my mistake. I should have checked the histories more carefully. I'll fix them myself. --Kleinzach 00:41, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
No problem, would you like me to make a list of articles where the templates overlap? §hep¡Talk to me! 00:42, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that would be helpful. --Kleinzach 00:47, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
That was fast! Thanks. --Kleinzach 01:01, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK. I've finished my spot check. Perhaps we can go on with Category:Argentine conductors to Category:Bulgarian conductors (8 cats) as the next batch. If those are all problem free we can then finish off all the conductors cats. How about that? --Kleinzach 00:59, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good to me. §hep¡Talk to me! 00:59, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I had a small issue, but it was fixed. All 8 done. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:30, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've just checked Category:Australian conductors. Talk:Alfred Hill and Talk:William Neil McKie both have Classical Music and Composers banners via ShepBot. Talk:Richard Bonynge is also a miss. The rest look OK so I can't see any pattern to explain the errors but perhaps you will be able to work out what happened. --Kleinzach 09:47, 22 June 2008 (UTC) P.S. I'm finding lots of articles in Category:Austrian conductors that also have both Classical Music and Composers banners. Do you think we should redo the bot run? --Kleinzach 09:57, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

My apologies. I had a typo, "Oprea" instead of "Opera". According to my stats there are no articles at all that contain both {{WikiProject Opera}} and {{Classical}}. While I'll skip articles that have certain tags on them by your request, I don't understand the logic behind having too mnay projects on one article. I've seen some articles with over 10 tags on them. Probably some gridlock or something that I wasn't here when it happened, it just seems to me that the more people who care for an article the better it will develop. As always I'm ready for the next run when you are! §hep¡Talk to me! 23:44, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Regarding Classical Music - this scope of this project specifically excludes all classical articles that are covered by the other classical music-related projects. That's the remit. Regarding the error, I'm still not sure I understand because the double bannering seemed to be of Classical/Composers ([2] and [3]) not Classical/Opera. Should I resume spot checking Category:Austrian conductors to Category:Bulgarian conductors? Are the categories OK now? --Kleinzach 11:34, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the misunderstanding, wow its getting to be a long month. I checked everything and we should be good to go? §hep¡Talk to me! 18:58, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
If everything is OK now it would be good to move on and go a bigger batch - the rest of the Conductors from Category:Canadian conductors to Category:Welsh conductors and the four extras cats at the bottom of the list (Choral, Musical directors, Women, stubs and suicide). Please note that I've added four cats which were originally missing from Conductors. (From now on I will only be checking a much smaller sample of the banners.) Thanks. --Kleinzach 22:45, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm really sorry, but I'm going to be running all over the place the next couple days, I'll be able to tag (probably all of conductors on Firday and Saturday, then I'm gone again all next week; headin up to Maumee Bay State Park. If these need to be tagged urgently I know Richard would proabaly be able to help you as he uses the same program I do. I will be able to do this, but like I said if speed is a necessity you shouldn't have to wait on me. Sorry for the delay. §hep¡Talk to me! 15:32, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
There's no hurry. Let's do it when you are free. It's a big job. We can do it slowly and carefully. The fewer errors there are, the fewer complaints I'll have to deal with. Also it will give me more time to check the accuracy of the categorization. (I'm also probably going to be away in mid July but just Beijing, not as exotic as Maumee Bay State Park!) --Kleinzach 00:50, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Those link posted on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gray magic are awesome. They help me improve the article a little. The only thing is they keep saying it needs reference and doesn't need to be original research.

First, I put all sorts of resource relating to the topic and the one you posted.

Second, The place I got the Source is on the page and in hidden text by some of the sentences.(i guess they haven't seen those.)

Really the only thing it needs is a quote. I've read the book Solitary Witch by Silver Ravenwolf but I don't know of any quotes. I'm going to keep working on it. --Condalence] 01:25, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Opera Project 'To do' list edit

When SatyrTN/SatyrBot originally set up the Opera Project banners, he created a maintenance To do list. This hasn't been updated (apparently) since February. There's no urgency at all but when you have time, could you possibly have a look at it and see whether it's possible to rehabilitate the thing? (P.S. There originally was a full version and a short version though actually nobody ever used the short one.) --Kleinzach 08:52, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, that's a bit out of my league. But here's what I do for WikiProject Ohio. I got a cleanup listing (similar to your to do list) from User:WolterBot and it got listed here. That's updated every 1 or 2 months. I also setup another list from User:Parent5446 Bot which I found very helpful (that's updated whenever there is a change I think). I hope that's what you're looking for! If it's not, let me know and I'll keep digging for an answer. §hep¡Talk to me! 15:42, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Both of these options look really good! Maybe the first WolterBot option would be preferable for present purposes. Perhaps with a monthly update? (Should I approach WolterBot directly?) Thanks. --Kleinzach 00:38, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry about that, I'll get everything running for you. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:51, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I put the request in. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:56, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. By the way it's fine to call it Wikipedia:WikiProject Opera/Cleanup list. The main link people use is at the bottom of the purple 'Can you Help?' box on the project page. --Kleinzach 02:29, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Page is at Wikipedia:WikiProject Opera/Cleanup listing, I gave it a header similar to the one I made for WP:OH, just so something was there. Is that what you were looking for? §hep¡Talk to me! 18:55, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Terrific. I'll announce it to the project. I'm sure they will be impressed. --Kleinzach 00:52, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
One question: I think the list can be edited, i.e. an article removed from the list when it's been fixed. Is that what you are doing on the Ohio cleanup listing? --Kleinzach 01:09, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I haven't had a chance to work with the article too much. But ya, the bot should load a new page when it does it runs so do whatever you want to with it. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:59, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

BOT REQ edit

Yes, biweekly would be a great assist. Let's test it with a small group. I still have a lot of double tagging to undo from the last effort. Also do not add tag to {{WikiProject Chicago}} tagged article. The auto assess should be limited to the following.

  1. class=stub if the article has any stub templates
  2. class=GA, FA or FL if any other project templates on the page has such a class.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 23:21, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
We art talking about categories that have nearly 16,000 articles that add 50 or so a week. In a week you will only have 50-100 articles to tag, but your bot will be checking nearly 16,000 articles to do so.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 01:23, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'll do a full run then and see what shows up. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:57, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
To help out I set it to consolidate the banners as well; see [4]. Though it doesn't catch them all, I should be able to get a few. Hope that's okay! §hep¡Talk to me! 03:48, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Great work. However, now the only ones that will should remain double tagged should have no parameter information.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 04:42, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Ohio Newsletter edit

The WikiProject Ohio Newsletter

Issue III - June 2008
From the editor:

This is the third edition of the WikiProject Ohio newsletter. If you have any project announcements feel free to drop them by the NewsDesk. It's request that you watchlist our talk page; so you can chime in on current discussions. Have a great June!

The Ohio Portal

The maintainers of the Ohio Portal are looking to get it to featured status. They would like to ask all project members to help improve it any way they can. What needs to be done most is the supplying of selected articles and images.

Getting the Project Moving
  • WikiProject Ohio as an entity doesn't have as much action as other state projects. For this reason it has been proposed that the inactive WikiProject Ohio Townships be added as our taskforce. There is a !poll going on at WT:OH and your opinion is essential in the matter!
  • Stepshep has also proposed sending an invite to everyone in Category:Wikipedians in Ohio with an invite to join the project. If you are already a member you would not receive the notice of course. Once again, please note your opinion on the project talkpage.

The Central Avenue Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located at 201 to 338 Central Avenue in Dayton, Ohio. It consists of late 19th and 20th Century Revival-style houses as well as late Victorian-style houses, which were all originally single-family residences.

On December 16, 1982, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Each month a new Ohio related stub is the selected article. If you have a new stub created feel free to nominate it at the NewsDesk.

Article Assessment

Reedy Bot and ShepBot are currently hard at work tagging all of the Ohio articles. We may need to have an assessment drive when the bots are finished. Think of it as a late spring cleaning. Please note your opinions on the project talkpage if you would be interested in helping!
'Over 15,000 articles have been tagged with {{OH-Project}}
We have 5,000 articles that need to be assessed for class!

Ohio NHLs Tabulated

The 25 of Ohio's 69 National Historic Landmarks that were red-links all got articles this month, as part of a WP:NRHP drive to finish beginning the 2,430 or so NHL articles needed for nation-wide coverage. WP:OHIO members Stepshep and Sanfranman59 were busy.

Template edit

I made a modification to a template that is used on a fairly large number of article talk pages, but I am afraid that I really did not know what I was doing. I might or might not have broken something, but any problem that I introduced was not so obvious as to prompt me to self-revert. I posted a request on the talk pages for both the WikiProject and the template itself for somebody to check my work, but see no response yet. (The template no longer supports C-class articles, but I am not entirely clear whether that functionality ever worked correctly to begin with.) I also e-mailed an administrator, who suggested that I contact you; can you please have a look at what I did, to make sure that I didn't screw it up? Thanks. Bwrs (talk) 20:45, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Everything looks fine. The changes I made were: I added C-Class as a class for the project, as it has newly been added to the scheme. I also put lists in their own category so WP 1.0 bot can sort them as such. If you have any questions feel free to ask! §hep¡Talk to me! 21:08, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Step. I suggested Bwrs ask you because you helped me with the museum one. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 21:18, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Always happy to help out any way I can! §hep¡Talk to me! 21:18, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for looking at this for me. Is it worth noting that an administrator tells me that WikiProject U.S. Supreme Court cases has a C class but WikiProject Business and Economics and WikiProject law do not? Bwrs (talk) 23:04, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
That is more than likely completely true. C-Class was extremely recently added to the article grading scheme through very thorough discussions here. Many templates do not support C-Class yet and it technically isn't even live yet; although projects can begin to assess articles as "C" class whenever they choose to begin. Eventually it will become as standard as Start-Class. I threw in the implementation so that when SCOTUS decides to start with C-Class it's already there for them to use, with all the categories setup ahead of time. To see all projects which currently are ready to take on a C-Class see Category:C-Class articles. Hope that explains it! §hep¡Talk to me! 23:18, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
This is the thing, though: I understand the existence of a sub-category within Category:C-Class articles only reflects the status of the template, rather than the status of the wikiproject discussion? Anyhow, I noticed that Category:C-Class U.S. Supreme Court articles is empty even after I purged both Talk:Toibb v. Radloff and Category:C-Class U.S. Supreme Court articles.... Yes, I see the notice that I might have to wait "for a few days," but I thought the Wikipedia:Purge function would make that unnecessary. Likewise, I see that Talk:2000 term opinions of the Supreme Court of the United States is still listed in Category:Unassessed U.S. Supreme Court articles even though I purged both the talk page and the category page twice. Bwrs (talk) 02:21, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Templates function differently, if you want an instant update each page has to be opened and "resaved". Purge doesn't make magic happen, give it a few days. I tested it with the articles under the list category. It works, just give it time. With a job que of 3,175,540; we have awhile to wait. §hep¡Talk to me! 02:38, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • To see all projects which currently are ready to take on a C-Class see Category:C-Class articles - i.e. WikiProjects that are both willing and technically ready. Those WikiProject assessment depts. who are strongly against it have refused to implement the grade, or leave the category open, at least for now. Ncmvocalist (talk) 03:22, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
What's the quickest and most accurate way to determine whether a WikiProject has refused to implement the C-class, versus doesn't care, versus has accepted it? Reason I ask is that I couldn't tell at a glance how you determined that the SCOTUS project has accepted it but the business and economics and the law projects haven't.... Bwrs (talk) 04:39, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well it's hard to tell if it's been refused or they don't care - particularly if there's no response (whether they're inactive for that period, actually don't care, or have refused to implement it and are sick of rediscussing it). But you can determine if it's been accepted by looking at the quality scale or assessment scale adopted by a WikiProject. In the Gall v US article talk page for example, you'll see a link to "assessment scale". It directs you to editorial team 1.0's assessment scale - meaning, they're adopting whatever scale editorial team 1.0 adopts. Similarly, the assessment banner in article talk pages should give a link to their respective scales. Ncmvocalist (talk) 15:53, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I just checked for Category:U.S. Supreme Court articles by quality, and saw it had Category:Wikipedia 1.0 assessments. This means they have adopted the 1.0 scale and have to go with the flow. §hep¡Talk to me! 16:19, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bot request :Photo request tagging edit

Hi Stepshep.... i was wondering if it possible to create a bot to tag a photo request on all cricketer articles that dont have an image... Talk:Tony_Dell is a good example. he is included in the list "Category:Australian Test cricketers" and does not have a photo. So a photo request can be put on his talk page.does youre bot do this?

Conferences edit

Hey, I wanted to let you know I've done some final clean-up on the Ohio Cardinal Conference draft. I want to add one more paragraph about how athletics have gone in the new conference, since there are some interesting trends in conference titles, and I don't know of any notable athletes yet, so it will probably get moved over tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to give it a look over. Also, if you have any suggestions as to what conference might be good to tackle next, I'll probably begin to slowly work on another one to prevent deletion of as many as I can. Right now I'm sort of leaning towards the East Central Ohio League, because it formed in the late 1980s and should therefore have easy access to sources about its entire history. But I'm flexible. matt91486 (talk) 00:48, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Coding edit

I mainly taught myself how to code, really. I started off with VB6 when I was around 10 (shows that I didn't get out much :P) and have recently transitioned to C#. I find that the best way to learn is to get hold of some working code and deconstruct it to see how it works: change a few things, streamline it, etc. Soon enough you won't need to look at examples for a new task as you'll have enough knowledge of the language already. The MSDN site is good for help and tutorials, and the '... for dummies' books give a fantastic introduction. Hope this has given you some help! P.S. If you tell me what you are trying to do, I can lend a hand later (I'm currently sorting out the new redirect-categorising template {{This is a redirect}}, which may take a while!) No, no one has opted out yet, but what I've decided to do is keep a list separate from the member list so we can just remove their name from the list when someone opts out. That list is here: User:L'Aquatique/wpjewlist. Thanks again, Shep-- L'Aquatique[review] 21:07, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Opera banner/Empty category edit

Thanks for your help. (I also asked Alanbly about this.) For a while I didn't know what question to ask since the cat was behaving so strangely - the count one day up and the next down - so I didn't take any action until the whole thing suddenly disappeared. Anyway I'll wait a few days and then see if it's stabilized. One reason that it's of interest is that we talked about celebrating 5,000 articles as a milestone but that will be hard to do if we don't have reliable figures. On behalf of everyone at WikiProject Judaism, but especially myself, I award you this well-deserved Bot Builder Award. Make sure to give ShepBot a metaphorical pat on the head as well. L'Aquatique[happy fourth!]

One thing you should know, though. In the undelivered section you placed on my talk page, you should probably use the {{tl}} syntax for {{nobots}}. Happy Fourth! :) L'Aquatique[happy fourth!] 05:05, 4 July 2008 (UTC) {{Talkback|L'Aquatique}}Reply

Regarding your bot edit

Fantastic work there delivering the news about C-class, however, I wasn't sure if it's a right idea to this notice to WikiProject Good article, lol. OhanaUnitedTalk page 00:58, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I wanted to thank you! I was expecting to spend hours on this! Everything seemed to go smoothly, and that "the wider community within" trick was very clever. I hope you didn't miss the fireworks. Many thanks, Walkerma (talk) 02:48, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Back from fireworks and glad to see everyting ran smoothly. I didn't think about WP:WPGA, hehe. §hep¡Talk to me! 03:55, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Another thank you edit

Thanks for sorting out my tags on my Garry Breen stub. Couldn't see where I'd gone wrong! Teaches me for not having edited anything much on here for a few months I guess. Best wishes anyhow. Earl CG (talk) 22:17, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Classical music/next edit

Thanks for doing the last two sections - went very smoothly. When you have time, can we go on to Section 2.1._Compositions by composer (222 cats)? Reg. --Kleinzach 05:07, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

 Y Done §hep¡Talk to me! 07:03, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I'm checking now. One question: I see the bot is bannering the cats themselves (e.g. Category talk:Compositions by composer) which are then going into the unassessed article cats. Is there any way to avoid the cats (as opposed to articles)? It inflates the article count and doesn't seem to add anything. --Kleinzach 07:21, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Of course. All category tags will be removed. §hep¡Talk to me! 07:23, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Fixed. §hep¡Talk to me! 08:04, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I made one mistake: Category:Compositions by Rahul Dev Burman is not classical. Bollywood in fact. It's large. Would it be possible to de-banner it with the bot? After that - assuming the bot isn't too exhausted - we could do the next section Section 2.2 Compositions_by_form. --Kleinzach 08:22, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sure thing. I don't know if I'm going to sleep tonight. It's already 5. §hep¡Talk to me! 08:24, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry. Why not go to bed? It can wait. --Kleinzach 08:31, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's not this, I'd just be doing other things anyhow. Its mostly a background thing where it runs without me noticing. My mind is whirring from other things. :) §hep¡Talk to me! 08:33, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Completed. §hep¡Talk to me! 09:35, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Good. We can go on to Section 2.3 Compositions_by_instrument when you ready. --Kleinzach 12:39, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Okay. There were only 13 to tag in that one. :D §hep¡Talk to me! 17:21, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
As I side note this is now being updated for myself to keep a count of how many Classical articles there are. §hep¡Talk to me! 21:51, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Should I assume that was all of them? §hep¡Talk to me! 22:00, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, we still have a few sections to do. I hope we can finish this week. Let me get back to you later. I still need to check the last batch you did. (Unfortunately the problems with the stub sorting group have monopolized our attention.) Best. --Kleinzach 22:09, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Sounds good. §hep¡Talk to me! 22:11, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
OK. Last batch look great. Would you like to do Classical_musician_by_genre section 1.2 - about 240 articles. --Kleinzach 04:36, 7 July 2008 (UTC) I see you've been offline for the past few days - so I've given the last section to Richard. Sorry about that. Glad it was taken care of. §hep¡Talk to me! 00:25, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

About the new concept. edit

You might find it hard the way I chat because I'm more down to earth. Anyway, I want to know about the new announcement, who came up with the idea? What makes it different and what examples can they give within there announcement? Also what does it mean for people who are new to the article and likes to come in to edit? Those things will take a while to answer but it something that I'm keen to understand. I hope you also left a message to Gprince007 because a lone editor can't edit a huge article without some help so I'll be also keen to talk to my friend for his opinion. Overall I take a thorough approach to ensure that I don't end up getting the wrong idea. I hope you get what I'm trying to ask about. The reason is I don't talk Wiki-style. I chat in a way that anyone understands. So take your time and answer on my talk page as soon as you can. Johnnyauau2000 (talk) 10:07, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP India Assessment Dept. edit

Hi there. Your bot left us a note about the 1.0 Editorial Team changes. We're not willing to make any changes until 2009 - but we'll be discussing and deciding which (if any) changes the entire WikiProject want to keep/implement. Can you please ensure articles are not assessed as C-class in the WP:INDIA banner in the meantime? Cheers - Ncmvocalist (talk) 11:00, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I'll check your banner and make sure it doesn't support C-Class so someone not in the know will not assess an article as such. I'd also suggest that you leave a note here as those are real people to talk to. I just delieverd a note on their request. I hope that helps! §hep¡Talk to me! 19:44, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Cheers :) I've left a note there now. Ncmvocalist (talk) 20:14, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tagging 18th century biographies for photos edit

Your bot has tagged a number of 18th century sporting biogs with a request for a photo. Apart from one case where a painting does exist (but is copyrighted and unavailable to WP), there are no images of these people in existence. Could you please untag the pages in question. Thanks. BlackJack | talk page 06:45, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Of course. I was just going by a request from another user. As soon as I can track down a reliable category that they all fit in. §hep¡Talk to me! 14:44, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
They're all in category:English cricketers of the 18th century if that helps. BlackJack | talk page 21:06, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:HAU, Status, and you! edit

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:59, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Shepbot... is it a miracle worker? edit

Hey, Shep, hope this finds you well. I have a quick question if you don't mind. I'm expanding the WikiProject Judaism newsletter to cover two more WikiProjects: WikiProject Kabbalah and WikiProject Jewish History. So, I now have a rather extended list of users that need to be delivered to. My question is, if a user is listed twice will he or she receive the newsletter twice? Basically I'm wondering if I have to go through and merge the lists or if I can just leave them as is- check here to see what I'm talking about. Thanks! L'Aquatique[le faux nez] 04:47, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Of course it works miracles! lol I can certainly filter duplicates. §hep¡Talk to me! 12:49, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:CHICAGO tagging edit

You chimed in at Wikipedia:Bot_requests/Archive_21#WP:CHICAGO_bot_assistance_needed about a bot running. Is there something that will regularly check to add {{ChicagoWikiProject}} to articles at WP:CHIBOTCATS? Respond at my talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 07:57, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

How often can you run it?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 13:43, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Biweekly is certainly better than nothing at all. I meant to say semiweekly, but biweekly is O.K. Is it auto stubbing articles that have stub templates on the article page and looking for GA, FL, and FAs among other talkpage templates?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 13:48, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
WRT, GA, FL, and FAs is it checking newly tagged or all articles in the categories?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 13:55, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am not sure I understand your logic on this one. Please elaborate.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 14:53, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
When you say "I then run through the current list of GAs, FAs, and FLs; and tag all articles as such."
Where do the lists come from precisely? Are you looking at all members of categories or looking on a page that lists them?
When you tag all articles, what is the logic. Do you check if the article already has a class parameter of GA, FL or FA and toss them out and then look at the list and see if anything remaining should be tagged?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 14:59, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I guess the same holds for stubs if the artcile has not been classified. So ditto on that question for stubs?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 13:56, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
This is sufficient. However, if it is not too much trouble is it possible to look for articles that have no class parameter and are not in either Chicago Stub categories, but have "-stub}}" somewhere in there article page. This would get articles stubbed by other projects that we have not noticed yet.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 14:53, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
In the past we have not auto-assessed articles. If it is becoming common to do so, I am not against it. I think stub, GA, FA and FL are clear cut. I am not as sure about other classes. What would happen when the other classes disagree on the class?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 15:05, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes please auto-assess.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 15:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Out for the day I see that your bot has done a great job. It has found us a new WP:FL (Smoking Popes discography) and two new WP:GAs (Barbara Gittings & The Cool Kids). Two of these three are really quite related to the project. It also auto assessed hundreds of articles for us. I noticed that another project adds a new section to the talk page when it adds the templates. Can we add a section titled "[[WP:CHICAGO|Chicago WikiProject]] Tagging" that says something like the following: This article talk page was automatically tagged with the {{ChicagoWikiProject}} banner because the article includes at least one category listed at WP:CHIBOTCATS. If you find this addition to be an error, kindly undo the changes and update the inappropriate categories on the article page if needed. The bot was instructed to tag these articles upon consenus from WikiProject Chicago. A well-intentioned effort with careful attention to avoid any wrongly tagging any categories was made, but mistakes may happen and there are exceptions... If you have concerns, please inform on the project talk page --The Bot

Improper dating of tags edit

Stepshep, you might want to explain an Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts#Current images why you felt it necessary to pre-date a no-fair-use tag on an image by 7 days prior to the date you actually placed the tag. When you put a tag somewhere, please put the correct date on it. You originally did date it correctly, but then you changed it. ~Amatulić (talk) 20:48, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

What's up with pre-dating "no fair use" tags? edit

Hey Stepshep, could you please explain what was going on with this edit? This is in regards to the Wikiquette Alert raise by BurpTheBaby. I'm assuming maybe this has something to do with it being a repeat of a previously deleted image, but I am not sure that pre-dating the "no fair use" tags is the best way of dealing with this... anyway, I'd like to hear your thoughts... if I saw that edit with no context, I'd revert it in a heartbeat, so I'd just like to understand a little better what your rationale is. Thanks! --Jaysweet (talk) 21:22, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Heh, sorry, I just realized my note was redundant with the one above, so I moved mine from a level 2 to a level 3 header. In any case, I don't mean to pile-on, but I remain curious :) --Jaysweet (talk) 21:45, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Check some images edit

Hey Step- If you get a chance before you go offline, I would appreciate if you would check many of the images used on the good old Kent State University Stark Campus page. It seems to me that the images have been uploaded as PD images, but are credited as being authored by "Kent State University" on the Commons. I would like a second opinion before I address them. Thanks --JonRidinger (talk) 01:24, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I really can't tell. I guess you could contact the campus and see what they say? If you have any concerns about the images though, they should be addressed with a Common's admin. Those guys know image policy like no other. Sorry that wasn't really helpful; maybe WP:MCQ would be useful? §hep¡Talk to me! 03:12, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I find myself developing List of RHPs in WI to respond to i-think-local User:Royalbroil who wishes to upload pics systematically, and have created "Template:List of Registered Historic Places in Wisconsin topnav", copying the Ohio one you and Ebyabe did. Orphaned non-free media (Image:HSAC logo.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:HSAC logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:05, 22 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
